Summer magic on the Central Coast

There’s no doubt about it – the Central Coast is a fantastic playground for the Summer holidays. And as it gets set to welcome thousands of visitors, the region is gearing up to provide something magical for everyone. Start 2026 on the right foot by attending major New Year’s Eve celebrations at Gosford or The Entrance. If you’re heading to Gosford, combine your celebrations with a Mariners game at Polytec Stadium. Throughout the Summer holidays the beaches, of course, will attract locals and holidaymakers alike, with

Central Coast Council and Surf Life Saving urging beachgoers and boaters to play it safe. Swim only at patrolled beaches – and if you’re heading out on a watercraft, make sure all your equipment is in tip top condition and your intended destination is known to family and friends – and, preferably, Marine Rescue. In this special Summer edition, we bring you up to date on what’s happening in the region through to mid-January. There is everything from special exhibitions at Gosford Regional Gallery to fun stage shows at both Laycock St

Community Theatre and The Art House at Wyong. For something a little more unusual, check out the program at the Fun Haus Factory in the heart of Gosford. Dine out at one of the top Indian restaurants in the nation or learn some new skills with Roundabout Circus. Head to Gosford waterfront any night for some carnival action and to Wyong Race Club on January 10 for the Lakes Mile. Central Coast Council has a huge list of free activities throughout the school holidays, many of them taking place at the region’s libraries. Inside, Central Coast Mayor Lawrie McKinna highlights some of the

region’s major achievements in 2025 and points to some big projects set for completion in 2026, as well as promising regular consultation with residents on key policies and projects. Whether you are a resident or a visitor, enjoy our beautiful Central Coast over the holiday season and stay safe. All at Coast Community News wish our readers (both regular and visiting) a joyous New Year and a glorious Summer season. Our first regular edition for 2026 will hit the streets on January 15, but in the meantime keep an eye out for all the latest news on our website: coastcommunitynews.com.au
