CSM: Explain what diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to you and why they’re important.

ISAAC: Everyone should be treated equally and respectfully, regardless of their beliefs, culture, creed or sexual/political orientation.

CSM: What is the most challenging aspect of working in a diverse environment?

ISAAC: Ensuring to the best of your ability or control, that the above is respected, be who you are , it doesn’t matter or bother who you are, as I believe you are what you are, I’ve been surrounded by all kind of cultures through my family and school.

CSM: What is your approach to understanding the perspectives of colleagues from different backgrounds?

ISAAC: You treat people the way you want to be treated. It’s simple. You should never treat anyone differently just because of the way they may speak, look or act. We’re all equal and all deserve a chance as they say ‘never judge a book by its cover’.

CSM: How would you handle a situation where a client or a talent was being culturally insensitive, sexist, racist, or homophobic?

ISAAC: I would call them on it, I can never just ignore it, I know what it feels like and it isn’t the best feeling or experience but I always make sure that what you are doing is right and use your voice, position and never let anyone suffer.

Isaac Brown is a Welsh model for high-end fashion, runway, brand representation, or lifestyle brands. The young model is represented by EMKAI Models in Wales and brand ambassador for some brands.

CSM: How would you advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion with brands or companies that don’t understand its importance?

ISAAC: It’s important to ask why brands/companies wouldn’t want to share an inclusive/diverse face to their brand, everyone is equal and beautiful in every possible way so why not share and shout about this.
