Broad in scope, Celebrating Grace Hymnal includes traditional hymns, new hymns, congregational songs, scripture songs, worship readings, scripture, and extensive indices. With more than 600 hymns included in the pew edition, the beautifully bound hymnal also features extensive online and companion worship resources. Celebrating Grace is a collaborative initiative of more than fifty leaders from the United States and Canada comprised of pastors, church musicians, composers, scholars, and laity.

elebrating Grace Hymnal is a comprehensive, practical worship resource. The superior craftsmanship and contents are reflected in the high quality and variety of the music, texts, organization, production elements, and support resources. In addition to exceptional music offerings, Celebrating Grace resources support the entire worship service. Interspersed throughout Celebrating Grace

Hymnal are scripture, responsive readings, and litanies that draw from the revelation of God’s Word and offer opportunities for response from God’s people. The format is designed to provide depth as well as flexibility to congregations and worship planners who seek fresh ways to tell the Gospel story. The Hymnal also includes an essay and reference chart in the pew edition about the seasons of the Christian Year.

Organization of Hymnal Reflects Theology Celebrating Grace Hymnal makes a theological statement of belief and practice, even in its organization. The book is arranged in two sections:

reating Celebrating Grace Hymnal began as a grassroots approach to developing and designing a hymnal. The goal was to be open to new ideas for meeting the resource needs of churches today. The team of editors brought together creative minds and listened to what was needed. A distinguished team of ministers of music, pastors, church music scholars, and laity was assembled and has participated in every aspect of the project. The result is an outstanding collection of hymns and worship resources.

Hymns Each hymn was reviewed for its musical contribution, theological soundness, and poetic expression. The editors set high standards for the music, texts, support materials, and production to match their commitment to vibrant congregational singing. The selection process began with the editors listening to the needs of hundreds of churches across the nation. Ministers of music and pastors developed the initial core collection for consideration. A second invitation went to churches, composers, and musicians to seek new materials. The response was thousands of submissions. After countless hours of careful review and thoughtful discussion, the editors, with the contributions of the committee members, selected more than 600 hymns.

Scriptural Readings Responsive readings and litanies were prepared by pastors, church music ministers, and theological scholars who share a deep love for scripture and for the actions of congregations as they speak and contemplate together in worship.

Online Resources A major distinction of the Hymnal is the combination of printed and online resources. These companion tools provide worship planning outlines, responsive readings and litanies, as well as the history of the hymns and biographical information about the composers and authors. In addition, Supplemental Music Resources will be available for immediate purchase and download.

Matching the exceptional quality of music and text inside, the Hymnal’s construction represents superior publishing craftsmanship. The double Smythe-sewn binding ensures durability and long lasting beauty for years of handling and use.

Choir edition The 6" x 9" pages of the choir edition are loose-leaf and drilled for choir folders. Pages are printed on the same durable, yet lightweight paper used in the Hymnal.

The keyboard accompaniment edition comes in a three-ring binder, which allows musicians to organize the music to their preference. The 8 ½" x 11" pages significantly increase the size of the notes and text. The layout is the same as the pew edition. BurgunDY

ChoiCe of Covers The Hymnal offers two covers: Celebrating Grace Hymnal and Celebrating Grace: Hymnal for Baptist Worship. The contents are identical, and the choice of covers enables churches of all faith families to utilize these resources.

The highest quality of natural shaded paper is used to provide crisp text for visual ease. The Hymnal has been carefully designed so it is easily held and fits standard pew racks.

Bound in deluxe black binding, the pages have gilded edges. This special edition complements every pulpit and is boxed for gift presentation.

large print edition The large print edition, with 8 ½" x 11" pages, comes in a threering binder which allows church leaders the ability to provide only the needed pages for the worship service. Senior adults and the visually impaired can benefit from this manageable resource and more easily read the printed page.

Dedication bookplate templates are available online and can be affixed directly into the front inside cover of the Hymnal. Bookplates create a loving and lasting reminder. In Memory Of, In Honor Of, and Given By bookplates also serve to easily raise necessary funding for the Hymnal.

elebrating Grace Hymnal enriches congregational worship through word and song. A major portion of the Hymnal is organized according to the structure of a worship service from Gathering to Departing. In addition, the themes of Baptism, Lord’s Supper, Family, and Prayer have been more extensively developed than in some hymnals. Also included are sections on Seasons of Life and Commemorations. The large section God the Son – The Incarnate One follows the Christian Year, which is based on the life of Christ.
