Michele Mozzati, with “Gino and Michele”... the birth of “Zelig” «The Alpine foothills are thickly forested, and when it rains a lot everything gets very green. But for those who love this area, above all if they're from the city, even the rain has a beauty of its own. During these periods, the mist and the water droplets give me a sense of relaxation, creating an atmosphere that helps me to meditate and forget the chaos of the city». This is one of the reasons why Milan native Mozzati Michele, a member of the famous duo "Gino and Michele", decided to live part-time in Orino. And for someone who works as an author and TV writer, finding a peaceful place where you can create and experiment with new ideas is extremely important: «My house helps me think and get my ideas down on paper. My place in Orino has hosted editorial meetings for "Smemoranda" and has even given rise to a number of episodes of "Zelig", with the artists, musicians and dancers rehearsing in the various rooms. It's like it was specifically designed to welcome guests and to discuss different ideas». As one of the gateways to the Campo dei Fiori park, Orino offers magnificent natural surroundings, with numerous walking and hiking trails having been carved out over time. In short, it's an ideal place where even an urban writer like Mozzati can plant his roots without having to forego the benefits of globalization. Even if the world has become quite small, it would be a mistake to underestimate the value of provincial life, writing it off as marginal and sad. This has been understood by the likes of Piero Chiara, who Mozzati defines as "a true intellectual", and has even been repeated by another famous contemporary author, Andrea Vitali, who's often compared to the famous writer from Luino. «I chose to live between Lake Maggiore and Lake Varese because they cheer me up - Mozzati concludes - and at the same time I could never abandon my city entirely. Finding a proper balance between these two vastly different worlds, therefore, was a necessity on both a physical and mental level. And I found this balance at just 45 minutes from the heart of Milan».
