PERSISTENT SELFLESS

nted to be a Tiger. After taking a closer look through due ediately "home" to me. Also, I was diagnosed at the age of 14 with a debilitating auto-immune disease, and missed a significant amount of time (23 days) and was unable to secure a high GPA during the first semester of my freshman year. I was advised to retake classes, graduate a year late, etc. I refused to do this. With the help of my parents, I was able to complete my classes with passing grades in my first semester, and continued to honor roll status for the duration of my high school career. To date, I currently hold a 3.5 GPA. Even while adjusting my medical needs in this new environment and spending time in the hospital this first semester, I maintain my status as a eader.
ng an extremely difficult and unprecedented post-COVID era, I have had the earch to get answers to the student body. As an example, I continually updated residents of the New Hall Facility about changing deadlines for spring housing applications and actively participated in troubleshooting conversations about wifi solutions during the recent outage. I also learned a great deal about varying perspectives in challenging times, and have been able to tailor my communication style and plans to accommodate. I credit my fellow residents with sharpening these skills with their open and honest communication. I can confidently say that my communication style is candid, providing realistic expectations and resolutions that require everyone to roll up their sleeves and are both leaders in the corporate world, I have learned from their rvant leader. Acquiring a leadership role means that my work is hat I must be the change that I have been entrusted to provide. a in which we live, we no longer have the luxury of reviewing all of s within the dorms) before making a decision. The options are now new and unprecedented, and leaders must make decisions today sight unseen. I am proud to say that I continue to rise to this challenge every day by addressing issues quickly as I have the experience to know/partner with the proper resources and individuals. I credit this to my ability to see the big picture and see every issue not only as a challenge, but more importantly, as an opportunity.
lationships with the student body, RAs, residence life e proven myself a trustworthy leader who continues to work to earn this trust every day in everything that I do.
my accomplishments mean anything without integrity. As a leader, if you e faith of all who depend on you and follow you. My perseverance through my challenges has not been purely an individual accomplishment, the village here at TSU and my community at large has been a huge support system. Through this vulnerability, I have had the unique opportunity to understand the need for and exhibit a level of dependability that helped me create and uctive relationships. It is my goal to be a role model for future leaders.
at I understand about myself, my goals, interests and leadership objectives
y g g wisdom of those who have come before me, listening to the needs and feedback from those who depend on me, and listening to the advice of my village. We gain so much more from each day through listening, as growth requires insight and information that we can only receive through creating a space in which others are comfortable to openly share with us.
