MEMBERSHIP SPOTLIGHT ROXANNE BRECEDA , CMC, DIRECTOR OF NETWORKING
It’s been some time since I last submitted an article for the member spotlight, and that is because I joined an incredible team six months ago. The City of Glendora Team! (Insert the cheers, confetti, and balloons). I am blessed to work with an incredible Clerk Team, R OXANNE and among the team, I have grown B R ECEDA to know this month’s Member Spotlight, Lorena Cordova. CCAC, meet Lorena! For all you Disney fans, this is your read. Hello, my name is Lorena Cordova, and I am the City Clerk Specialist for the City of Glendora. I’ve been with the City of Glendora for 25 years, starting in the Community Services Department for 20 years and five years in the City Clerk’s Department. You can usually catch me in my spare time at my favorite place, Disneyland. I love anything Disney! I’m currently on my career path, completing my bachelor’s in Business Administration from California Baptist University. I enjoy working in the Clerk’s office because of the people we interact with while attending legislative meetings. I love being able to prep and prepare agendas, including prepping documents such as Resolutions and Ordinances. I’ve learned that I love prepping behind the scenes, leading meetings, prepping outlines or meeting scripts, and the PowerPoints for the meetings. My coworkers don’t know that I take my time and catch all errors so that my city is seen professionally. My favorite Disney characters are Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and Jasmine from Aladdin. Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin are my favorite movies, and I’ve always loved both of those characters for their name and because of what they stand for. Aurora grew up as an independent woman, just like Jasmine. If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would want to visit all the Disney parks. Of course, I’m always at Disneyland in Anaheim; I’ve seen Walt Disney World in Florida. I’ve visited the Aulani in Hawaii and recently did a Disney Cruise. For my bucket list, I would love to visit Paris Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland. If it has to do anything with Disney, I want it on my bucket list.
