Cassidy Elizabeth Rubenstein (February 19/20) is the daughter of Peta and Jason Rubenstein; sister of Kai and Max; granddaughter of Linda and Basil Narun, and Rikki and Bo Rubenstein. Cassidy attends The Emery/Weiner School. For her Mitzvah Project, she volunteered at Foxfire Farms Barn feeding and caring for the horses and helping new students get acquainted. Cassidy will donate a portion of her monetary gifts to help the Humane Society.

Eliana Kendal Haas (February 26/27) is the daughter of Rene Shapiro and Eric Haas; step-daughter of Courtney Haas; sister of Danielle and Ethan Haas; granddaughter of Elaine and George Haas, and Bette and David Shapiro, of blessed memory. Eliana attends The Emery/Weiner School. For her Mitzvah Project she participated in the JFS Shabbat Box Program to decorate and fill Shabbat boxes for Jewish patients in the Houston Medical Center. Eliana will also participate in the Rabbi’s 10% Plan by contributing to Mazon.
Cemetery lot price increase
The Beth Yeshurun Cemetery Association maintains two cemeteries – the more traditional Allen Parkway cemetery location and the newer and recently enlarged Post Oak Cemetery at 1037 North Post Oak Road. There are few gravesites available for sale at Allen Parkway at this time. The Post Oak location, with its new addition, should take care of our needs for many years to come. Buying a cemetery plot is never an easy decision and many people choose to procrastinate. There is, however, a certain peace of mind in making definite plans, knowing that we can ease some of the stress and anguish for our families at the time of need. We suggest you plan ahead and make these difficult decisions at a time when the family is not in crisis. Beth Yeshurun’s cemetery plot prices have remained constant for the past four years.
