Viviana Becerra ’09 was selected to participate in the California Capital Senate Fellowship program working for Senator Loni Hancock (D-Oakland) after graduating from UC Santa Barbara in 2013. As a Senate Fellow, she staffed the Senator on multiple pieces of legislation including SB 1300, which established the strongest refinery inspection program in the nation. After the completion of the fellowship she was hired as a legislative advocate with Gonzalez, Quintana, Hunter and Cruz, LLC, the largest Hispanic firm in Sacramento. One of her biggest accomplishments has been working to secure $10 million for human trafficking victim services in the California budget. Samuel Frias ’09 has been happily engaged to fiancée Katie since November. Sam works
as a union carpenter with Unger Construction. He enjoys getting to work with his hands and being outdoors every day.
Morgan Dahl ’09 loves her job as the General Manager at Burbank Ranch Winery in Paso
Robles Wine Country. She is staying involved in the wine-making process as much as she can, and plans to be fully engulfed in it by this time next year.
Blake Peterson ’09 is thoroughly enjoying his job with Moment Entertainment, an event
management and production company based out of Los Angeles. Moment Entertainment coordinates everything from high end corporate events to smaller college events and everyday Vegas travel. Next summer Blake and the team are organizing a charity event on 4th of July weekend in Long Beach called “Freedom Fest” to benefit the Wounded Warriors Foundation. In December 2013, Amy Albertson ’09 graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in arts and letters, with minors in graphic design and Judaic studies. During her time at PSU, she co-founded the pro-Israel group on campus and was very involved in the Portland Jewish community. Following graduation, Amy earned a five-month internship in Tel Aviv with the Marom Group, a consulting firm for nonprofits. Eight months ago she made Aliyah (formal immigration to Israel) and now lives in Jerusalem, Israel. She recently began working as the Marcom and Creative Content Manager of Masa Israel Journey. Here is a photo of Amy participating in Israeli democracy for the first time as an Israeli citizen. In April 2014, Jessica Masuhara ’09 married her husband Justin Brooks and the couple couldn’t be happier! Jessica is attending school part time and will soon finish her bachelor’s degree in theater arts. She recently celebrated her eight-year work anniversary at Nugget Markets where she is as a trainer and back-up bookkeeper. After finishing up at CSUS in the spring, she hopes to pursue acting professionally, either in Sacramento or possibly Seattle. Jessica and Justin are taking it one day at a time and living life to the fullest.
