Accsys honoured with tech award BUSINESS REPORTER SANDTON based national payroll supplier Accsys received the Technology Top 100 (TT100) 2009 Minister’s Award for Sustainability. The award, hosted annually by Da Vinci Holdings and the Department of Science and Technology in association with Eskom, which forms part of the TT100 programme, looks to recognise and reward achievers within the technology sector. At the award ceremony, Accsys went head to head with other companies including Allied Technologies Limited, Bell Equipment Company South Africa (Pty) Ltd and Hazleton Pumps (SA) (Pty) Ltd. The award recognised the company’s ongoing system development and solution integration, service and support in human resources, payroll administration, time and attendance management, as well as access control. “We are honoured to receive this award which indicates the

recognition from industry and government of the company’s advancement and contribution. Recognition like this is a strong commendation which we hope will continue in the future,” said Teryl Schroenn, chief executive officer of Accsys. “Accsys has demonstrated consistency in growth and has proven that focus, service and dedication leads to success,” said Deirdre Marcus, executive director of TT100. sc@caxton.co.za

Alliance partner of the year BUSINESS REPORTER WOODMEAD-based Document Accounting Solutions (DAS) announced that Equitrac Corporation had been named the Xerox 2009 Alliance Partner of the Year. DAS is the agent for Equitrac, a global print management and cost recovery company. Xerox Corporation’s global

business group said Equitrac’s continued contribution to Xerox, its customers and the printing industry had earned it the award. It was presented at Xerox’s annual business partner conference. “This recognises the significant investment in marketing initiatives and support that Equitrac gives to the Xerox solutions business team and the global sales channels,” said

Noel O’Dwyer, vice president of marketing and strategic alliances at Equitrac Corporation. By forming an alliance with Xerox, Equitrac helped companies like KeyBank reduce printing costs by more than $2 million and eliminated more than 110 million pages of print from their offices each year. sc@caxton.co.za

ABED AHMED BANKER Gareth Kin of RMB Private Bank is no stranger to the ‘hard work pays off’ motto. Kin drew himself into a rags to riches story that took him from a temporary entry level position to a private banker in under three years. Dreaming of working in the financial sector, Kin completed his matric at Fourways high school and studied for a degree in investment management at the University of Johannesburg. Once completed, he signed a small short-term contract with Sandton’s RMB Private Bank entry level operations centre which quickly became permanent. He was promoted to the

Once qualified I’ll set myself further goals.” Kin said he wanted to remain within FirstRand Group as he believed it had a solid structure which suited him. “My philosophy in life is perseverance equals goals.
