Be A Light

by Stephanie Daniels

esus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). Once we accept Jesus, we become Christ-

like. Just like Jesus, we too can be a light. It takes giving your life to God and being willing and obedient to be used at any time. You may be the only “bible” some people will ever know. Be prepared to share your faith. Have a scripture reference in your heart. One of my favorite scriptures to share is Jeremiah 29:11: “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” These words rang true in my spirit when I was going through a difficult time. They encourage me every time I read them. I have shared this passage with many and I know the Word of God does not return void. Every time we share a testimony, the Word, pray with someone or even invite them to church, we are letting our light shine. A great evangelist once said prayerlessness is a sin. I was a new believer when I heard this and it made a great impression on me. One of my favorite books is entitled, Intercession, Thrilling and Fulfilling by Joy Dawson. The book goes into detail about the benefits and power of having a prayer life. Prayer is communication with God. A strong prayer life involves speaking God’s Word over situations and circumstances, thanking God for who He is and all He has done, and listening to God’s voice.
