The Difference You’re Making for Neighbors in Need Spring 2025
You’re Helping Sierra Build a Brighter Future
Because of your generosity, Sierra’s life is filled with hope and opportunity. A loving single mom, Sierra was referred to Catholic Charities by Novant Hospital shortly after her son was born. Thanks to your support, she was able to visit our Wee Care Shoppe and receive the essential baby supplies she needed to care for her newborn.
But your kindness didn’t stop there. Through our Case Management Program—made possible by donors like you— Sierra is building a strong foundation for her family’s future. With your support, she’s learning to budget, set meaningful goals, and access nutritious food from our pantry. Every step of the way, Catholic Charities’ caring staff is there to guide her—but it’s your compassion that makes it all possible.
With your help, Sierra is working hard to achieve her dream of becoming a teacher— showing her son the power of perseverance and hope.
Thank you for helping families like Sierra’s move from crisis to stability—and inspiring brighter futures every day.

A Message from Mary Beth Marquard
Dear Friends,
With each story we share, one truth shines through — your generosity changes lives.
Because of you, moms like Sierra find the support they need to care for their children and pursue brighter futures. Families like Yuliana’s receive nourishing meals and essential supplies when they have nowhere else to turn. And faithful supporters like Kristen are inspired to give back, ensuring that Catholic Charities can continue to be a lifeline for our neighbors in need.

You Filled Yuliana’s Pantry— and Her Heart—with Hope
Because of your compassion, neighbors like Yuliana find comfort and security in times of crisis. With a baby on the way and deep uncertainty clouding her future, Yuliana turned to Catholic Charities’ food pantry for help.

Thanks to your generosity, Yuliana and her family have received food, clothing, and baby supplies—turning fear into relief and replacing worry with hope.
You made sure Yuliana’s family didn’t go to bed hungry.
Why I Choose to Give Back
A Message from Monthly Supporter
Kristen Lennex
Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte holds a special place in my heart, and that’s why I choose to give back as a monthly donor.
From 2012 to 2014, I had the privilege of working at Catholic Charities at the Piedmont Triad office, and my time there shaped who I am today—as a Catholic, as a professional, and as a person.
Your compassion is at the heart of each of these stories. You are the reason families can move from fear to hope, from crisis to stability, and from uncertainty to opportunity.
We are especially grateful to the more than 600 of you who joined us for Partners in Hope on March 27 — our largest gathering in many years. Your presence and support mean the world to us.
On behalf of all of us at Catholic Charities, thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your unwavering care for our community. We are so grateful to walk this path of service with you.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Mary Beth

But the impact of your kindness goes even deeper. You gave Yuliana peace of mind, knowing her family wouldn’t go hungry. As she shared in her own words, “The Catholic Charities food pantry is how we eat.”
Because of you, families across the Piedmont Triad find not only the essentials they need, but also the hope and dignity they deserve. Thank you for being a lifeline for neighbors in crisis.

I saw Matthew 25 in action every single day, watching God’s love pour out through the hands of staff, volunteers, and supporters like you. That experience set me on my path in nonprofit finance, and even though I moved back to Ohio to raise my daughters near family, Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Charlotte never left my heart.
Being a monthly supporter lets me stay connected to the mission and the work I care about so deeply. I know that every month, my gift helps provide food for families, clothing for young children in need, and hope for neighbors in crisis.
To my fellow donors—thank you for walking alongside me in this important work. Together, we are a lifeline for families in need, and I am so proud to be part of this community of compassion.
