STORY OF A SERIAL KILLER

JOHN J. DICKS JOURNEY

H “T

orror photographer John J. Dick is planning a cross-country road trip. He’ll be staging murder scenes along the way, Compiling pictures and stories from the trip into a fictional first person table book, from the perspective of a serial killer all on funds that he has collected from IndieGoGo campaign he started in March. Bella Entertainment has had the pleasure of sitting down with him for an interview to get his plans and thoughts about the trip and to also give our readers a small look into what he does.

he layout of the book will be designed to take you on a journey into the killers mind. Not just with your eyes but with your

thoughts.

John began his love for his photography at the age of 10, after building his frist box camera from scratch. Being that his father was a photography teacher they had a dark room in his attic where his father taught him s now, his father always stressing composition and lighting as defining professional from an amateur photography. John explains in his father’s words “ it’s how you see things. Thus, even when I’m dirt broke ( which is quite often, actually). I can always find someway to take photography with me. To put a lens to the world.”

Childhood was the beginning of John’s fascination for blood and gore. When he was a kid in school he was bullied a lot, which made him fascinated in the psychology of why people were mean and feared the things they did. He began reading autobiographies of serial killers which would later on in his life spark the idea of his table book and the journey he will take to make it happen.

money my Indiegogo Campaign makes the more places I’ll be able to visit.” When asked what are the reasons backing these places he will visit he states “foremost, each stop needs to have a model that wants to shoot with me. Each of the places I already mentioned, I know a model that lives there who have expressed interest in my project. I’d like the images to be diverse, showing bits of the local culture where ever possible.”

John plans on making stops in texas, Vegas, LA, New York Denver, and Omaha. He tells Bella Entertainment “Basically all over the continental United States, the more

This book will be John’s first, although traveling is no stranger to John the book will be his first major undertaking of his professional career of this scale. John has had many projects similar in the areas that he has lived. But never a cross-country journey depicting a serial killer fiction book from a first person perspective.

Horror,Gore,Blood

The book will not only show the pictures he has taken but also a journal-type story with handwritten notes and trinkets photoshopped into it to make it look like they have been taped into the book. John

explains it as being a scrapbook of a serial killer. He tells Bella entertainment “that the layout of the book will be designed to take you on a journey into the killer’s mind. Not just with your eyes but with your thoughts.” Aiming for a very dark and taboo place with his project he hopes to metaphorically crack open the closet door in the dark of the night and stare the monsters in the eyes. Which is what he intends to do with the book. John’s short term goal for his book is to self-publish his book but eventually would like to get it published and get it mass distributed, but for now his first priority will be to get the book to the sponsors from IndieGoGo then go from there. His link to IndieGoGo can be found on our facebook page as well as our website where you’ll find updates from Johns trip.

Follow or contribute to John’s book whatever your heart desires, I know deep down this book will intrigue you somehow. It has intrigued me. To find his links visit Bella Entertainments Facebook page.

RAFAEL TRANQUILINO

THE MAN OF SOUL

His music will make you come alive! It makes you feel like you are playing the music your self. This man definetly has a gift.

Finalist for International Blues Festival

R

afael Tranquilino is known locally in the Seattle area as the lead front man and guitarist of his band, The Rafael Tranquilino Band. A power trio consisting of guitar, bass and drums that fuse rock, blues and funk with an alternative and fresh sound. He’ll play a searing riff, tease you with an old fashioned Delta slide and then bring you back down with his powerful lyrics. Rafael’s exciting style and notable chops have earned him the reputation of being one of the “hottest” young guitar slingers in the Pacific Northwest and his band was noted as “Best Blues Band of 2012” in the Tacoma Weekly. Born in Mexico City, Rafael Tranquilino is a big city kid. He is accustomed to subways, stadium sports (especially baseball), and lots of opportunities to hear and play live music. His father, a newspaper journalist, fostered Rafael’s interest and talent in music. He started him on the piano when Rafael was just five years old. By the time he was nine, he was playing guitar, bass, and drums. After high school, he studied music at “La Escuela Superior de Composicion y Arreglo Musical” ESCAM and from a teacher from the “G, Martell University of Music” in Mexico City. Mexico has a rich tradition of music festivals, and Rafael has performed at many of them, including the International Festival Cervatino and also well know venues such as The Hard Rock in Mexico. He has played with his own band as well as well-known Mexican artists. Examples such as legendary rock and blues singer Baby Batiz and the classic blues band, Heavy Nopal. Rafael arrived in the United States in 2006 and was hired as the musical director and lead guitarist for The Randy Oxford Band. He recorded and was featured on 3 of their albums and extensively toured with them. In 2011, Rafael decided to take another cre-

ative turn by stepping out on his own and forming The Rafael Tranquilino Band. The Rafael Tranquilino Band is a True Live Experience Band! An instrumental powerhouse of guitar, bass, and drums with vocals that fuse rock, blues and funk in an alternative invocation of crossroads; the past, present, and future. Tranquilino is known for his searing riffs and old fashioned Delta slide. His music is hypnotic; it has wings, lifting listeners to where the tension is on purpose to linger in the resist-

ance before set free in sweet relief. RTB is a rocket ship ride going full speed through layers of atmosphere into outer space, but they deliver, and listeners will transcend from the ride. In 2013, Leah Tussing joined Rafael as manager and lead vocalist of the RTB. Leah Tussing is a dynamic and diverse vocalist who draws from a combination of jazz harmony, gospel soul and rock n roll grit. Introduced to the world of music at a young age, her rockstar Dad exposed her to some of her first musical inspirations like Whitney Houston, Chicago, and Ella Fitzgerald. As Leah grew older, she consolidated her diverse background into a unique and mature musical style and spirit. She believes that “a vocalist’s job is to translate what the musicians are trying to communicate to the audience: to be a mediator, not just sing.” As of late, this philosophy has guided her to fall in love with the blues. Leah sees the blues as the perfect mix of simplicity, honesty, and raw emotion that lends itself to be a universal language. Leah prides herself in going beyond the notes to use the blues to tell her story. Their business partnership along with the incredibly versatile rhythm section garnered them the 2015 Washington Blues Society Best of the Blues Award for ‘Best New Band’.

Some of Rafael’s major influences include guitarists such as Slash, Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Carlos Santana, Steve Vai, Jimmy Page, Richie Blackmore, Sonny Landreth and Warren Haynes. Rafael has called his style of music alternative/ blues/rock/funk, music that will rock your heart & soul! “The music I play is to rock your heart & soul- to expand your awareness,” – Rafael Tranquilino Since being in the United States, Rafael has performed in numerous festivals including Magic City Blues Festival, Tremblant International Blues Festival, Safeway Water Front Blues Festival, Playing With Fire Music Festival, Mt. Baker Blues Festival, Winthrop Blues Festival, Untapped Brews & Blues Festival, Ritzville Blues Festival, Sunbanks Blues Festival, Bite Of Seattle Festival, Tacoma Freedom Fair, Taste Of Tacoma, Tacoma Jazz & Blues Festival, Big Sky Blues Festival, Flathead Lake Blues Festival, etc. He also has played numerous and well known night clubs and theaters, one being the famous Orpheum Theater in Memphis, Tennessee where he competed in the International Blues Contest as one of the finalists. Here are a few of the festivals where you can catch RTB summer of 2015: August 1st – Big Sky Blues Festival – Polson, MT August 15th – Flathead Lake Blues Festival – Noxon, MT August 29th- Poverty Bay Blues and BrewsDes Moines, WA September 6th – Freedom Festival Ebey Island – Ebey Island, WA September 12th – Westport Blues FestivalWestport, WA October 3rd- Oktoberfest- Leavenworth, WA Booking: l.k.tussing@gmail.com – rtranquilino11@gmail.com Facebook: www.facebook.com/rafaeltranquilinoband Website: www.rtranquilino.com

Singer, Song writer.

S

inger/Songwriter/Producer Lige Newton hailed from the small town Polson MT, at the foothills of the Mission Mountains. He was given his first guitar at age 1. Lige grew up in a home where music was always the entertainment and study. Coming from an artistic family, and parents with a great appreciation for playing music, he soon wrapped one hand around the neck of the guitar and held a pick in the other.

At the age of seven, Lige, his parents, and sister started a family band, and for the next several years played at local festivals and competed in several of the Montana State Fiddlers contests. As he got older Lige amerced himself in writing and arranging his own music. Being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 13, Lige had obstacles to overcome and music became his solace. After graduating high school, Lige moved to Spokane, WA to attend Spokane Falls Community College for audio engineering and is currently utilizing his skills producing music for RezErected Records. He recently released his first EP “Before Winter Comes Again”, consisting of four original tracks self- produced and mastering done by Shadow Devereaux. Monolouge A Day, with Jason Daniel

FROM DRAMA TO COMEDY AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN JASON CAN DO IT ALL AND

J

DOES EVERYDAY WITH HIS MONOLOUGE OF THE DAY ON YOUTUBE AND FACEBOOK

ason Daniels the face of Monologue a Day started the page to show his range of acting skills after not getting many acting gigs and experience. His page gave him the chance to practice and get himself out there for the world to see. Bella Entertainment is proud to be showing you his story of everything that he has done in his career. His work is great, it is so nice to see someone devoting themselves to something they love and that is why Bella Entertainment has sought out Jason Daniels. All it takes is practice and dedication to become a great actor or anything for that matter.

J

ason ever since he could remember he enjoyed acting. Jason tells us” I don’t want to be an “actor”. I want to be human which is the art of acting. To be.” Essentially he would like to become more human to become more real along his journey of acting. Jason has been type casted a bit as a cop, detective, and an army guy. Jason tells us “I hear a lot of people say they want to be an actor but if you’re going to be an actor, you have to do it every day.” Jason hoped that doing a monologue a day would both improve his skills as an actor but also inspire other people to do what they love every day, at least once a day. Jason wanted to show that commitment to a project doesn’t have to be someone else’s project. With the support of friends like Paul Eenhoorn he is learning what real acting looks like. Jason has been in over fifty short films, features and music videos over the last three years. Jason has slowed down a little bit this year, taking more time to pick roles that he feels fit him better. Jason has done everything from featured extra to starring roles. He has worked on large projects such as Big Foot Man in the High Castle, Laggies, and Lucky Them. Many of the independent projects Jason has been on having never made it out of post or never finished filming. Jason says that about one-third of what he has been in had been finished. Jason does a lot of different things from running businesses to working on alternative energy sources to raising a family. Jason is also in

a ban, writes music, draws, paints, and sings. Jason tells us that he enjoys writing, photography and Cinematography. Jason has written several short films and two features. Jason tells us “I don’t think of myself as someone who creates I strive to reveal what is already there.” Jason has full support from his family as well as his great friends. Sometimes he says they don’t understand but his monologue a day really helps them see what he does and how he is improving as an artist. When asked what advice he would like to give all you aspiring actors/ actresses Jason tells us,” To thy own self-be true. Learn the material do your research, breakdown the character and then throw it all away. Don’t think about what will be seen. Simply be. After auditions, don’t think about it you’re probably wrong. To find Jason’s Page for Monologue a Day. Please visit Bella Entertainments Website were his channel and Facebook page will be found.

Don Barrington Photography

D

on and Julia a newly married couple have been doing beautiful wedding photography for about 5 years in total between the both of them. These photos, however, aren’t your typical wedding photos you see in your hometown at your favorite park. The uniqueness that is portrayed in each photo is beyond a typical wedding photo or engagement photo. Don and Julia have traveled the world taking photos of weddings and engagement photos in Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand just to name a few. Don Began his love for wedding photography when he was going to a church in Australia and bumped into a guy who shot weddings that were looking for help back in early 2011, this began Don’s career. Don’s favorite places to take photos are empty spaces like deserts, bodies of water, fields, verdant plains and empty parking lots. Slowly Don and Julia are branching out to editorial/ fashion and commercial photography. Don hadn’t always wanted to be a photographer but wanted to be a writer back in college. Don is also a marathon runner, bike enthusiast and is a little bit of a tech head. Don’s family is very supportive of his and Julia’s career path. Don’s advice tp aspiring photographers he tells us “ Do what you are passionate about and keep getting better.”

Julia began her start in wedding photography 6months after her and Don got married. Because of Don traveling a lot for work she wanted to go with him to help manage the business side of things. Julia loves taking picturesque scenery like rolling hills, awesome trees, and clear lakes. She tells us “ Photographing people is as much about the scene as it is about the person.” Her and Don have been working together for about a year and she has been shooting 3 years on her own. She loves documenting things and tells us that if she were more adventurous she would want to photograph current events to keep those moments remembered in history. Julia hasn’t always wanted to be a photographer rather a freelance graphic designer. Which she does as a side hobby but she also likes to lift heavy things and knit. Julia’s mother like many mothers worries from time to time that her and Don won’t make enough to support themselves. Which can be a scary thing for any photographer because it can be a come and go type business to be in. But, Julia’s family is very supportive of her and don. When we asked her what kind of advice she could give for aspiring photographers she tells us “ do it because you love it. Don’t go to school for photography, take some business classes. Those would help you heaps more, and take a design class.” For the last 3 years, Don and Julia have been constantly on the move but this last year they have only traveled 3 times twice to Fiji, and once to New Zealand. This summer I will get the pleasure to work with them in some Fashion/editorial work, which I am really excited about doing. Check out more of Don and Julias work at... https://www.facebook.com/barringtonphoto

Prosody

H

ailing from the gloomy streets of Portland, Oregon, Prosody is an up-and-coming melodic hard rock trio heavily inspired by the sounds of the Classic Rock and early 1990’s Grunge era. Consisting of members Travis Bratton (Guitar and Vocals), Joey Rivera (Percussion) and Brandon Martinez-Woodall (Bass), Prosody has set out to conquer the local rock charts in Portland as well as the rest of the Mid North West with their truly unique sound, since the late fall of 2014. Since their recent formation, Prosody has been able to establish a large local fan following and garnered much attention from the local venues and bar scene. They are currently making plans to finish and release their first E.P. entitled “Happy” that will feature seven original tracks as well as two early demos previously aired on Portland State University’s local radio station while also preparing to do a mini tour of the Northwest. Prosody’s sound can be described as fresh, ambitious, infectious, and aggressive. They display a wide

variety of beautifully orchestrated acoustic songs carefully crafted with unique melodies and engaging lyrics that anyone can relate to. Their electric side truly displays their aggressive and often times bipolar and chaotic, edgy sound that has allowed them to stand out amongst the Punk Rockers and Metal-Heads of the Portland Metro. With their crunchy, hard-hitting guitar tones and intricate use of bass harmonies, as well as their hard, hitting infectious drum beats, Prosody is a must for any music lover who is looking for a fresh take on modern rock The band first formed in late September of 2014 when front man Travis Bratton who had recently moved from Hermiston Oregon, posted an ad looking for fellow rockers to take part in an upcoming project. In response, Spokane Washington native Brandon Martinez responded and once approved for the project, the two began writing and re-creating songs Bratton had previously written. A month into the project, the duo

with the help of local audio engineer Alex Huston, recorded two tracks, “Happy” and “Undo” to showcase to local musicians and fill the void of a missing drummer. One week and a dozen responses later, talented drummer (and Portland native) Joey Rivera auditioned and cemented the lineup. With a full band in motion, the trio with the help of local band “When We Met” and artist Cheylan Edison, booked their first performance at the famous Analog Theater located in the heart of the industrial neighborhood of Portland. Prosody has since performed countless gigs and finished recording their debut E.P. “Happy” which will be released later this spring. For more information on Prosody, You can check them out on Facebook and reverb nation for show postings, merchandise release, and listening samples. Influences Prosody has derived their unique sound from an abundance of musical inspirations. Bratton has cited bands such as Seether, Staind and Alice in Chains as being his primary influences when it comes to his approach to guitar. Rivera on the other hand has taken a keen interest in the more technical aspects of drumming and has found inspiration in bands such as Tool, Primus, Opeth and the Giraffes? Giraffes! Martinez has found influence in his approach to bass through the likes of Alice in Chains, Type O

S.U.P.E.R NAUTS

SPECIAL UNDERWATER PEACE ENVIROMENTAL RANGERS “The Adventures of the S.U.P.E.R.NAUTS” is an exciting animated journey through the depths of our great oceans. Each story is filled with factual information on our abundant marine life and most of the stories take place at actual locations beneath the majestic waters of our planet. The S.U.P.E.R.NAUTS explore the vast uncharted areas – below sea level – and explore things we can only imagine with our feet set on firm ground. One lucky human becomes a part of the mystic marine world and is able to take us on a ride through his journeys.Unbeknownst to AARON, his incredible destiny was taking form while he was only a young boy. When he was 14, his parents moved away from the coast. Aaron’s UNCLE MIKE suggested that Aaron move to the “ISLAND” where he would be under the care of DR. CROWELL (Uncle Mike’s best friend and colleague). When Aaron turns 19, his incredible destiny becomes a reality. Through a series of bizarre circumstances, Aaron meets ANUI, an 18,000 pound killer whale, and they quickly become best friends. Soon after, a bottlenose dolphin named DINA joins their side, followed by a 3,000-pound walrus named WAMAC, then a California sea lion named SPIKE, and two emperor penguins named PACO and PICA. Also joining the team is an adolescent pelican named Peepers. This incredible group of characters form a unique bond with each other and are soon known as the “SPECIAL UNDERWATER PEACE ENVIRONMENTAL RANGERS,” better known as the S.U.P.E.R.NAUTS. Equipped with an electromagnetic wetsuit and a breathing apparatus that simply sucks the oxygen out of the water, Aaron is able to withstand extreme pressure during deep dives with a continuous supply of oxygen. Communication between the S.U.P.E.R.NAUTS is made possible through unique voice translators.Along with the S.U.P.E.R.NAUTS, DR. CROWELL and his dedicated assistant, CELINA, help form the base of operation. Dr. Crowell is the world’s leading authority on marine biology and a father figure to Aaron and Celina. TRAPPER STEHLIK PHOTOGRAPHY

MONTANA BORN PHOTOGRAPHER.

Man behind the Camera

M

y name is Trapper Stehlik (real name too) Born in Libby Montana, raised in Yaak Montana. I have two Daughters: Cierra 21 and Emma 16. I wrestled in high school and fought as an MMA fighter. Grew up in the country, I love fishing, hunting, driving down back roads.Started a 4x4 shop and welding shop with my father. Didn’t really every pick up a camera until I took a trip to south Africa. Used a little point and shoot camera but was fascinated by what I was able to see my pictures. That kind stuck with me. Then one day, 2 1/2 years ago I was discovering eBay, and I ran across a green screen...without really thinking I pushed buy it now and I was the owner of a green screen. Then I figured I should probably

buy a camera, so I bought an entry level DSLR (canon Rebel) and set up my green screen. One of my first shoots was an aspiring model needing pictures for an online photo contest. Ended up falling in love with her, shot some photos and she won the contest. Then just kept shooting pictures. Having my own model to photograph daily gave me lots of practices. I also really seen how it made people feel good when they seen the beauty that I brought out in them, it was very rewarding. Then about 6 months ago model girlfriend broke my heart and left. Heartbroken I went out and bought a canon 5d mark III (in place of an engagement ring) and kinda like vowed that the rough things that happen in your life can either destroy you or make you

stronger. So I became determined more than ever to keep on with my photography and produce images that I could feel good about. So the last six months I have been burying myself in it shooting almost every weekend. I have also really wanted to go to a different country to shoot pictures of what I call people of character. Where you can read their life and their face, their passion, their struggles, etc. I have been trying to break out even more lately asking people if I may photograph them I’m actually surprised at how many people will allow you to photograph them it is really nice that they allow you to look at that side of them.

DINO BRUSCO PHOTOGRAPHER

ITALIAN BORN PHOTOGRAPHER

D

ino Leone Brusco is an Italian photographer born in 1974 in the eastern Ligurian riviera that considers himself more a citizen of the world, an interested listener and a storyteller than someone willing to boast any pompous “PH.” or other fancy wow-effect on his own photos. Shooting both film and digital since 2004, truth and honesty in images for him are paramount: if a man or a woman have scars, wrinkles or any other signs on their skin, you can be sure he will report them as they are. Besides, in all of his real work, developed mostly through published photo books (written both in Italian and English) rather than photo galleries, every image has an anecdote and a caption that comes along with it, so that the viewer may enjoy it entirely. His favorite field is portraiture with or without flash: in the world that ofter diminish or smash people to make them numbers, for Dino this is actually quite the opposite. His aim is to let them speak, have their say and tell the world they do exist, especially when they have no other mean to prove it. Of course, their vital space, tradition, culture and personal history are equally important and add a meaningful piece to the whole context. A bit more specifically, he’s often intrigued by women and children lifestyles – men usually get by finely no matter where you go, you know – in different areas of the globe. While he started photographing photo models, because of the natural pleasure to work

with everything “beautiful and good-looking”, by the time he also worked with (adoptive) friends, common people, poor and persons living very far from Italy. His way to see the world changed after he and his wife adopted a little Ethiopian boy back in 2012 after a 3-yrs long process; not having any real info about the boy but the birth date and place, he decided to venture in West Ethiopia alone to record as much as he could so that his little cub Ashu might have some terrain where to develop his roots and answer some very personal questions in the upcoming years. Such trip actually occurred in April/May 2014, but even before, Dino also flew to Siberia to be godfather of an Orthodox christening back in 2012; visited in 2013 the famous religious site of Medjugorje where the Virgin Mary is said to appear every month since1981, and finally had his “once in a lifetime 3-weeks long journey” in Central Asia where he discovered his own ancient origins are. It was definitely the most rewarding experience ever.Aside private work, he’s actually working on a fourth photobook collecting interviews from different people living in the world, to have a snapshot of life in this beginning of XXI Century as regards value, hopes and a message for the future generations; once it’s finished, he will also publish a summary of his work as soon as possible. You can find, preview his work and read related comments here: http://it.blurb.com/user/italy74

LA RESITANCE

DIY UNDERGROUND GROUP

La

Resistance’s inception began Nov 2014 at Object Space in Spokane Washington. Brains child’s and co-creators White and Holiday began an experimental DIY underground group collective of high impact visual and musical artists. Both coming from old school punk rock art and music scene of the 80’s and 90’s in the Pac NW and LA. After years in the modern art scene in Spokane are a long hiatus raising kids and educating themselves, after a passionate talk about some rejection from art show communities decided to put own on their own damn show. However they didn’t want to keep all the fun for themselves, so they invited all the awesome artists they know and love. With event planning, marketing, and t knowledge and placing the value of beating the street they promoted the hell out of it. Each artist and musical act have they own following, so it was a networking cooker. What happens when you put 17 Rad artists in the same room? Well, you were either there or not. With local scene titans such as The Swanstrom, Ara Lyman, Brian Houghton, Chris Russell, Jason Bagge, Robert Lamonte, and Megan Holden, plus too many to name. Mixing local and outa town musicals acts such as Matthew winters, Sarah Hull from Portland and Hannah Reader will rock your socks off after your eyes are satisfied. Being the artist themselves, they understand the complexities of being introverted. They wanted to accentuate the secret recipe with more obscure artists as well. Mixing local ad outta town musical acts such as Matthew Winter, Sarah Hull (pdx) and Hannah Reader will rock your socks after your eyes are satisfied. Next show is June 5th at Object space at 1818-1/2 E. Sprague 5-9 with music to follow. Check out our FB page LaResistance art page. Lauralee emerged with humble beginnings in a small town in the center of WA state. Growing up with four brothers she learned to be tough. Although an shy and introverted girl, she had a wild imagination, love of adventure and had a certain restlessness. As a young girl she began to express herself through artistic visual expression as a coping mechanism for a chaotic and turbulent childhood. She learned to play music in grammar school, toured around with a jump rope club and roller skated every Friday night. Inspired by satellite TV Friday night videos in the sticks she dreamed big. She began to get involved with the local music scene when she was 15, which sparked a life-long love affair with local music. Graduating high school a year early, she packed bags and left for Spokane. There she found a rich local community, full of artists and musicians that put on their own shows such as Global productions. Terry Grobe (RIP) had so many connections and knew just how to put on a dirty punk rock show. He brought national names to little Spokane and supported local artists. Inspired by her surroundings she played in bands, such as, Clabberhag The Swallows and The Blowouts, interviewed bands and wrote zine articles, was a photojournalist of the time, danced like a mofo, modeled and had kickass hair. She Became a professional artist in the early 90’s at local coffee shops and galleries, such as DaDa and 2MT. After taking a Hiatus after getting engaged to a punk Rock star and later raising two kids by herself, she put herself through school. Years later she was able to focus more on her ambitions when her kids were a little older. Creating art, showing and selling regularly she got her groove back and never stopped moving. She participated in group shows, such as Terrain, Friends with Benefits, and later co-creating La Resistance. With a little help from her friends, she’s living the dream. Ron’s mom split right away and raised by dad straight out of the Vietnam war. Growing up with the Gypsy Jokers hanging out at the house Ron realized he had artist edge by selling zig zag men drawing to bikers at eight years old. Went to a boy ranch when he was 14 just to get released to the streets of LA and doing more drugs. Pulled himself outta the gutter and got some education but couldn’t afford to continue. Eventually leaving LA after quitting drugs and went to Portland. Started singing in a punk metal band and got the taste. Meet his children’s mom and later moved to Seattle where Ron became a catalyst forming shows of his favorite punk rock bands. It was like a mini Woodstock in Renton with bands such as Zeke and Not My Son. Later moved to Spokane, finished school and now is an intern architect. Taking a hiatus from art and music to raise children and focus on his career. Reignited his passion for art after his 13-year-old daughter Casey jumped to her death off the Monroe street bridge 3 weeks before her 14th birthday. Her sister Sydney Ann age 12 at the time saw her just the morning before her untimely death and found it hard to cope and shut hr father out. Stricken with immense grief Ron found solace in photography—shooting his surroundings. The urban decay decadence spoke to him as the passing moments went undocumented. Transitioning to acyclic paint after a gift from his girlfriend, Ron found a new passion with canvas, found community support and got commissions. He got his first show at Object Space in 2010, which lead to shows in Terrain for three years and several other showings. Afterward co-creating La Resistance group show collective with the amazing Lauralee White.Finding a collaborative spirit after a few beers on the subject, White and Holiday formed a collective unlike any other. Combining the experience of the ground floor of the local original punk rock movement of the nineties, they found a kindred DIY sensibilities. They hand pick the best artists and musicians of the area and out of state, such as Greece, to represent the ties of emotional expression of the human existence. Welcome to the underground where dreams are made.
