Can you play an instrument? I’ve always wanted to play an instrument but never really took the time to learn
If I could go back in time I think I would spend the time to learn how to play an instrument Which instrument would I play? I am not 100% sure. I just think that I would just like to play one
On our campus we have a really great music program. Mr. Ethley is a dedicated music teacher and his students enjoy learning music from him. In addition to guitar, Mr Ethley provides learning opportunities in piano and choir as well.
One of our greatest music programs on campus is our guitar program. Many students have joined our guitar program and they seem to really enjoy playing their instruments. Let’s learn a little more about the program.
Listening to music and playing music on the guitar is really fun and relaxing. I really enjoy playing the guitar with my friends and hope to join a band soon.
Learning to play the guitar has not been to challenging I started playing the instrument at home. I was really glad to see that our school offered guitar. I plan to keep playing.
Playing the guitar and joining the guitar class has made a big difference in my experience at Carter High School. I now look forward to coming to school everyday. Thank you Mr. Ethley. Also my grades are improving.

byKaidenGipson ScanQRCodefor additionalinformationLet’s master the common assessments. We have worked so hard to prepare for these test. Let’s go Carter Cowboys.
Testing has become a big part of school today Each week students will take at least one test. Honestly testing is not really the issue. Being prepared for the exam and studying is key to our success.
On my last test I scored very close to masters performance. Masters performance varies with each subject but the bottom line is scoring a “B” or higher. This can be challenging especially in some of the hard classes. I have found that with studying, and preparing for the exam my test scores increase.
Taking our campus to the next level requires all hands on deck. Let’s go Carter Cowboys. Let’s show Dallas ISD what we are capable of. Let’s Win!
So what can we do as a student body over these next few weeks? Let’s all be intentional about listening in class. Active listening and asking questions has made a big difference in my grades The more I listen in class the better I understand the material. Also, ask questions and engage in the lesson This will make the biggest difference in your grades. Common assessments starts on 2/27/24. Let’s go Carter Cowboys

BY MYRACLE CHENARDWhat an amazing basketball game between David W. Carter HS and Canton HS The game started off with Carter runing the fast break offense designed by Coach Love. This offense involves moving the ball and looking for the opening shot.
In addition, the defense was very solid. Each player played their positions and kept their oponent right in front of them. There were not alot of fast breaks or easy points.
The Basketball Team along with Coach Love would like to thank everyone that came to the game.
