: NETWORK ENGINEER AND SUPPORT MAINTENANCE (1X POST) (INTERNAL JOB POSTING) : INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY : 228/2012 : In accordance with a job level 4 of Merafong City Local Municipality : (R250 352.00 – R256 641.00 – R263 088.00 per annum, excluding benefits)

REQUIREMENTS: ● NQF 4 (Grade 12) ● A+ and N+ ● Higher Diploma: Information Technology and NQF 6 qualification ● 3-4 years experience in the Information Technology environment ● Good communication skills ● Knowledge of Sharepoint and AS400 ● Ability to systematically troubleshoot complex problems ● Valid Code 08 Driver’s License ● Good writing skills ● Good interpersonal skills ● Must be able to work irregular hours and overtime when necessary ● Must be able to work independently and under pressure ● Good organizational skills ● Must be able to prioritize ● Must be prepared to be on stand-by on weekends, when required RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Assist in the planning and implementation of the IT infrastructure ● Implement network security ● Oversee the administration of WAN and LAN ● Oversee the administration and maintenance of computer stations and software ● Respond to escalated helpdesk issues ● Ensure that company assets are maintained responsibly ● Work with project teams to help implement internal systems ● Interact with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT related issues ● Advise on the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies ● Manage internal IT training ● Diagnosing hardware and software problems ● Using IT Support request to document, prioritize and track requests ● Installing/configuring new computers ● Repairing/upgrading PC, hardware and software POSITION SECTION REFERENCE NUMBER REMUNERATION

: IT MAINTENANCE (2X POST) (EXTERNAL JOB POSTING) : INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY : 229/2012 : In accordance with a job level 6 of Merafong City Local Municipality : (R196 992.00 – R206 364.00 – R216 207.00 per annum, excluding benefits)

REQUIRMENTS: ● NQF 4 (Grade 12) ● A+ and N+ ● 1-2 years experience in an IT environment ● National Diploma: Information Technology ● Valid Code 08 Drivers License ● Good communication skills ● Basic knowledge of Sharepoint and AS400, will be an added advantage ● Ability to systematically troubleshoot complex problems ● Good interpersonal skills ● Must be able to work irregular hours and overtime when necessary ● Must able to work independently and under pressure ● Prepared to be on stand-by on weekends, when required RESPONSBILITIES: ● Diagnosing hardware and software problems ● Repairing/upgrading PC hardware and software ● Undertake the day to day operation of backup systems, including rotation of backup ● Using IT Support request to document, prioritized and track requests ● Installing/configuring new computers and network points/cables ● Troubleshoot printers/scanners/copiers ● Perform creation of new accounts (user name and password) using our financial system (BIQ) ● Identify and correct or advise on operational issues in client computer systems Merafong City Local Municipality is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
