ERASMUS+ PROJECT MOVE BEYOND A strategic partnership of nine international organisations shaped project MOVE BEYOND, under the ERASMUS+ Programme, Key Action 2: Strategic Partnerships in the context of Social Inclusion. This collaboration is based on the belief that alternative and innovative methods may contribute to a decrease in school dropouts, higher employment and active social participation of young, disadvantaged people.
The project aims to provide a training programme based on art-educational and physical methods to be applied by trainers/teachers who are not subject experts in Art or Sport as an additional re-integration and educational approach. This training programme provides them with tools to support and guide young people (aged 16 to 27) in vulnerable positions. It is based on the principle that the trainer should mainly use the role of facilitator. Therefore, we add a description of the trainer’s profile. This is a training programme that appeals to young people and that allows them to share their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment, to increase positive awareness of their issues and (hidden) talents and to take further steps in their life. The focus of the programme is the (further) development of eight 21st-century skills: communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, flexibility, social skills, leadership and initiative. In addition, pilots were carried out within the project to check if the theoretical framework of the training programme was applicable for youngsters in daily practice.
It concerns the following project products: 1. a theoretical handbook; 2. a guideline about cultural activities; 3. a guideline about physical activities; 4. a profile of the trainer; 5. structure of a Train the trainer; 6. the toolkit. The partnership consists of: 1. Weener XL, municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch (The Netherlands); 2. Tirantes (‘s-Hertogenbosch – The Netherlands); 3.
