We value a multi-disciplinary approach as we believe it creates a more holistic experience for survivors. These task forces and coalitions include law enforcement, social services, medical staff, practitioners, survivors.

A Few Examples of Many Success Stories Betty’s House - San Diego, CA *Gloria was being held in a domestic violence and sex trafficking situation but, along with her two children, was able to flee her abuser. During her time at Betty’s House, she obtained employment, found an apartment and is now living out in the community. We were so proud of Gloria as she spoke at the opening and dedication of our new building.

Domestic Violence Community Program - Seattle, WA *Rose was being trafficked and prostituted by her abuser but fled from her abusive trafficker with her daughter, and they made their way to Washington State. We were able to house them in our shelter facility and then find them housing in a safe apartment. To help them get back on their feet we also provided furniture, bedding, dishes, and cooking utensils, etc. to assist them as they started their fresh start, free from trafficking and abuse.

Evangeline's House - Spokane, WA One of our first clients at the COVID Isolation and Quarantine Shelter in Spokane was a 28-year-old victim of human trafficking. When *Mary contracted Covid-19, her trafficker kicked her out to the street. She was full of shame and embarrassment for her situation, thinking she was to blame. Mary felt unworthy and undeserving of anything good, and thoughts of suicide crossed her mind.

When Mary arrived at our shelter, she was struggling with drug addiction as traffickers often use drugs to control their victims. However, Mary was very receptive to our program staff who offered warmth, care, and comfort. While in isolation for the 14 days, we were able to secure her ID, get her on benefits, and arrange for discharge to a 6-month in-patient women’s drug and alcohol program.

The day Mary left our program to be transported into treatment, she met both of her parents for a meal. She said this was the first time all three of them were sober at the same time. This young woman is still in treatment, and today she has a choice over her body, her decisions, and her life. A major Victory in Christ! *names and identifying details have been changed for confidentiality*
