WISH Grenada partnership with Education Foundation
West Indies School of Hospitality in Grenada (WISH) and CHTAEF will collaborate to offer thousands of annual scholarships to Caribbean hospitality workers provided through the Culinary Institute of America and the eCornell platforms.
Barry Collymore who is the Founder and Executive Chairman of WISH welcomed the collaboration and spoke about its positive potential impact, "We want to influence the Caribbean hospitality workforce positively.
We are providing an unprecedented level of access to some of the world's best hospitality courses and programs. Our aim is threefold: to make the region a more competitive tourism destination, to help our Caribbean businesses become more productive and to support our hospitality workers with furthering their career and self-development.

NEW Caribbean Resilience Scholarship Fund
We are pleased to announce the new Caribbean Resilience Scholarship Fund which has been created from the generous support of Nick Troubetzkoy, CEO of award-winning properties include Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet in Saint Lucia. This fund aims to assist in our long-term goals of creating a more responsible tourism industry.
“The education and training of team members is crucial to a better understanding of the meaning of sustainability, building of resilience, destination stewardship and applying principles of regenerative
travel,” said Nick Troubetzkoy when asked about his donation to start this fund.
The fund will support current Caribbean tourism professionals interested in understanding the wide array of opportunities currently being developed to create meaningful, sustainable tourism products for the long-term benefit of this homes, hotels, industry, and themselves.

Thanks to our Strategic Partners
The Trustees of the CHTA Education Foundation would like to thank both Interval International and the Sandals Foundation for their continued support and generosity. Their donations to the Foundation in 2023 will be used to support our on-island Caribbean Empowerment Training program.
Our newest strategic partner, Jade Mountain which has created a fund which will focus on preparing Caribbean nationals create a more responsible tourism industry within the region. This fund will focus on providing opportunities for individuals to shape the industry going forward with a more sustainable approach.
Finally, we are also in discussions with several new potential strategic partners interested in working to support a variety of programs including the Caribbean Professional Development Program with Les Roches, new Employee Empowerment Training and new training programs currently in development.
General Scholarship Applications Now Open
The Education Foundation scholarship applications are now open for all areas of Hospitality and Tourism Management for Associate and Bachelor programs, including exciting new partnership with Miami Dade College for in-person and online degree courses.
Applicants must be Caribbean Nationals pursuing studies in a relevant tourism program in any accredited academic program and meet the academic criteria outline in the application. Learn more about a CHTAEF Scholarship and apply HERE

The search is on for hospitality employees ready to move their careers to a new level this year.
Our partnership with Les Roches Hospitality is designed to rapidly accelerate participants’ trajectory to senior leadership roles in the industry. Students must commit to 12 – 15 hours per week for the duration of the sixmonth program, which includes classes such as: Advanced Hospitality Operations, Finance, Revenue Management, Marketing, Sustainability, Leadership and Organizational Behavior. Applications are due by May 30 and program begins end of June.

Caribbean Empowerment Training
Coming off a busy training program in 2022 where nearly 1,000 Caribbean hospitality professionals participated in our Caribbean Supercharged Service training, we can confirm this year’s schedule will include training in April and May in Turks & Caicos Islands and in July in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
This training is held in person in small class size and is focused on energizing and empowering staff.
