High-energy, Rich content & Deep Operations knowledge combine through our on-island training partners, Talkabout & Earth Solutions, to wow, excite and challenge all levels of hospitality and tourism professionals that the Education Foundation train and develop; from Managing Directors, General Managers through Supervisors and passionate team members.
2023 saw the Turks and Caicos Hotel & Tourism Association smash its own record, and ours, of training 525 people over 7weeks! We grew the Caribbean Supercharged Series to include Service-centric Security training that was an off-the charts success, similarly, the new Top Leadership training day was an absolute hit.
The Spice Island welcomed the Education Foundation in July; kudos to the Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association for quickly selling out 2-weeks of training and we left 190 people energized, looking at their service-style differently and vowing to keep the momentum rolling. This was another record! Grenada had never filled 2-weeks of focused high-quality Service-Centric training before.
Karolin Troubetzkoy, Chair of the CHTA Education Foundation, remarked excitedly “as you read this, Caribbean Supercharged Service will be in St. Lucia to deliver a sold-out 2-weeks; 216 seats are filled and there is a wait-list! In short order, we continue to Aruba and pilot a new program as part of our Caribbean Supercharged Service Series”.

Thanks to our Strategic Partners
The Trustees of the CHTA Education Foundation would like to thank both Interval International and the Sandals Foundation for their continued support and generosity. Their donations to the Foundation in 2023 will be used to support our on-island Caribbean Empowerment Training program.
Our newest strategic partner, Jade Mountain which has created a fund which will focus on preparing Caribbean nationals create a more responsible tourism industry within the region. This fund will focus on providing opportunities for individuals to shape the industry going forward with a more sustainable approach.
Finally, we are also in discussions with several new potential strategic partners interested in working to support a variety of programs including the Caribbean Professional Development Program with Les Roches, new Employee Empowerment Training and new training programs currently in development.
General Scholarship Applications
The Education Foundation scholarship applications are designed for all areas of Hospitality and Tourism Management for Associate and Bachelor programs. Applicants must be Caribbean Nationals pursuing studies in a relevant tourism program in any accredited academic program and meet the academic criteria outline in the application.
Since its creation, the Education Foundation has provided over US$ 2.5 million in scholarships to hundreds of candidates throughout the region. The next application session will be opening soon. Learn more about a CHTAEF Scholarship HERE

The search is on for hospitality employees ready to move their careers to a new level this year.
Our partnership with Les Roches Hospitality is designed to rapidly accelerate participants’ trajectory to senior leadership roles in the industry. Students must commit to 12 – 15 hours per week for the duration of the sixmonth program, which includes classes such as: Advanced Hospitality Operations, Finance, Revenue Management, Marketing, Sustainability, Leadership and Organizational Behavior. Applications are due by May 30 and program begins end of June.

WISH Grenada partnership with Education
West Indies School of Hospitality in Grenada (WISH) and CHTAEF have teamed up to offer thousands of annual scholarships to Caribbean hospitality workers by the Culinary Institute of America and the eCornell platforms.
Barry Collymore, Founder and Executive Chairman of WISH, welcomed the collaboration and spoke about its positive potential impact, "We want to influence the Caribbean hospitality workforce positively. We are providing an
unprecedented level of access to some of the world's best hospitality courses and programs. Our aim is threefold: to make the region a more competitive tourism destination to help our Caribbean businesses become more productive and to support ourhospitalityworkerswithfurtheringtheircareer and self-development."
