POSITION/ARGUMENT
In the co-living program, several functions of people’s daily live can be shared with same spaces. According to the need of privacy, they can be divided into three parts. The public includes kitchen, bathrooms, outdoor spaces, laundry and wellness space. The private functions are bed, reading space, safe keeping, toilet, sink and fridge. Some functions can sometimes be shared but other times need privacy, such as working place food preparation and storage, so these functions can have their full equipped sharing part with compressed version in each private rooms.
SPIRAL
DESCRIPTION
Spiral is a minimal dwelling project designed for a single person living 10’x10’x10’ cubic space. It includes the physiological needs in daily life, such as, sleeping, cleaning and dinning, these spaces are connect with a spiral circulation in the order of human daily routine. It also allow the resident to have relaxing and working area and it is in the center of the space, surrounded by the basic needs functions. The spiral circulation allows compressing the space, for instance, functions have different needs of height, and overlapping in plan of functions that people usually are sitting can maximize the use of vertical space. Considering some activities prefer natural light, while windows can not be open on every side of walls, working, reading and relaxing space are attached to one side of the cube to get access of light.
