GIVING BACK The CAPTRUST Community Foundation announced its annual Charity of Choice and National Grant recipients, and CAPTRUST colleagues got creative by extending the firm’s philanthropic reach in response to COVID-19. Charity of Choice and National Grants Each year, the CAPTRUST Community Foundation (CCF) selects a Charity of Choice and three organizations to receive gifts from its National Grant program. The chosen 501(c)(3) organizations’ core missions must align with the CCF’s mission to enrich the lives of children in communities we serve. This year, the CCF selected TeamSmile as our 2020 Charity of Choice. This nonprofit organization partners oral health professionals with professional athletic organizations to provide underserved children with a life-changing dental experience in which the excitement and allure of sports reinforce the value of a lifelong commitment to dental health care.

Cyber-Drives

Colleagues put their best virtual foot forward to help those waiting in long lines or struggling to feed themselves and their families as a result of the pandemic. CAPTRUST offices in Texas, North Carolina, New York, Michigan, and Florida arranged virtual food and clothing drives to help boost support for the members of our community who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Fourth Annual Fun Run

During CAPTRUST’s annual Advisor Kickoff in late January, the firm hosted its fourth Fun Run and Walk and donated 5 cents per step taken on the 2.2-mile course. More than 65 advisors and colleagues participated, raising more than $33,000 for the CCF and causes supporting the needs of children in communities we serve.

Additionally, each year, CAPTRUST collects applications from charitable organizations throughout the country that support our mission. Each qualified applicant goes through a strenuous vetting process, and, if selected, receives one of three $25,000 grants. CCF is pleased to announce this year’s National Grant recipients: Note in the Pocket, Parkland C.A.R.E.S. Food Pantry, and Respite Care of San Antonio.

The Challenge Campaign

CAPTRUST launched its Challenge Campaign in April to raise $100,000 to help those severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. By May, the campaign had garnered more than $144,926 in contributions. Funds collected are providing much-needed meals for children and families, support for essential employees struggling to find childcare, resources for distance learning, and more.
