CAPSU Burias CRCY holds Youth Volunteer Formation Course and Basic First Aid Training

In coordination with the Philippine Red Cross – Capiz Chapter, Student Affairs and Services, Medical, Dental, and Disability Services, NSTP-DRRM, Bachelor of Physical Education, Supreme Student Council, and Future Leaders of the Philippines, CAPSU BURIAS College Red Cross Youth(CRCY)conductedatwo-day formationcourseandbasicfirstaid training on Nov. 28–29 at the SOKORAKI Hall for the first day, and at the Bermejo Hall on its secondday.

The training aims to reach the youth to inculcate in them the essence of volunteerism, humanity, andtheimportanceoflifesupportin any emergency that may occur withinthecommunityanytime.

"This training is a very helpful programformetolearnthebasicsof first aid andthe knowledge that we will gain would allow us to be prepared for any sudden medical concernswemightencounterinour homes or at school, Angel Ann Andrade,aparticipant,shared.

The first day of the pursuit covered the discussion of Mr. SanderlenB.Ponsaran,Chapter

Sanderlen B. Ponsaran, Chapter Service Representative of RCY, in which he shared all about the Philippine Red Cross Movement, itsfundamentalprinciples,andits services; and of Ms. Lenice Joy Orocio,CYCPresident,asshetalks about volunteerism and activities as well as program for youth volunteer.

On the second day, Mr.

Onthesecondday,Mr.Elvin S. Acolentaba introduced first aid, emergencyactionprinciples,aswell as lifting and moving and their execution, and also, CAPSU Main Campus RCY facilitated an activity where participants were divided into four groups to practice the differenttypesofbandagingskills.
