On Dec. 15, the Guidance andCounselingOfficeofCapizState University Burias Campus, headed by Ms. Van De Lyn C. Abao, in collaboration with the Student Affairs and Services as well as Medical, Dental, and Disability Services, initiated a Mental and SpiritualHealthSeminarheldatthe BermejoHall.

With the aim of raising awareness about the mental health continuum and strengthening spiritualbeliefs,thesaidpursuitwas attendedbystudents.
Duringheropeningremarks, Ms. Abao claimed that many students are going through a lot of personalissues andshewashoping that the program can help the students,mostespecially,thosewho students,mostespecially,thosewho needitthemost.


Sister Emma Cristia A. Mayor, Guidance Counselor of the Saint Catherine Academy (SCA), served as the resource speaker duringtheseminar.
According to Sr. Mayor, “Mental health problems are mostly not visibletohumaneye.However,this shouldn't affect the attention we give and the awareness we have of thosepeoplewhohaveit."
Students shared their personal challenges, the insights theygainedafterparticipatinginthe seminar, and how it will help them overcome adversities during the open forum conducted before the activityended.
