Scholarships and elite competitions

Our Sports Scholarships and Sport Ambassador programmes are investments in the future. We are dedicated to nurturing the potential of each scholarship recipient, providing them with the resources and support needed to excel in their Sporting Careers through the world-recognised TASS Scholarship. Our students have the opportunity to be a part of regional, national and international competitions.

Academic success

Students have the flexibility to enrol on any fulltime programme offered at our colleges and simultaneously join a sports academy of their preference. We are committed to aligning our timetables with your academic commitments, training sessions, and competition schedules. Sports Academy participants consistently demonstrate higher achievement rates compared with their peers within the college. Through strategic partnerships with select sports

organisations, we aim to offer comprehensive pathways for achieving sporting excellence both during and after the course.

Semi-professional partners for fast-tracked competitive sport. Often learners are given false hope with professional clubs and often released as soon as they finish college. Our pathway provides a route into the sport even whilst they are studying with us.

HAMZA: Athletics

• Currently competing for Newham and Essex Beagles

• 1st place in 800m London Championships

• 3rd place in 60m London Championships

• District Champion for London and Essex

Future Goals: Aims to compete internationally in the European and National Championships this year.

TORRIN: Brazilian Ju Jitsu/MMA

• Great Britain National 55kg Champion

• Gold Medal at the European BJJ Championships

Future Goals: Continue the trajectory towards greatness.

ELIJAH: Football

• 23-24 AOC London regional champion

• First team debut for step 5 club at 17 years old

• Captain of men’s college 1st team

• Played in the FA Youth Cup

Future Goals: To be playing academy football or playing for a men’s first team at step 5 or every week.

RAYAN: Table Tennis

• 22-23 ranked 17th within the UK

• National League Table Tennis player

• Representing at club level

Future Goals: He aims to win this year’s National Championships. He has recently won against the regional champion and would like to win this tournament while representing the college.

PARAS: Volleyball

• David Lloyds regional champion

• National level within home country

Future Goals: To provide a platform for further participation within the sport for females.

VALENTINO: Basketball

• 22-23 Conel MIP (most improved player)

• 22-23 CBL playoff quarter final

• 22-24 City and Islington College 1st team selection

• 22-23 Representing London Knights and 3rd in AOC category 1 league

Future Goals: In a year’s time aiming to have received offers to America whilst taking an extra year in England to further his game. After end of third year, wants to take an offer to an American college if not a prep school. Post D1 is looking to become a professional basketball player.

Future Goals: Aims to secure a D1 basketball scholarship and continue pursuing his passion for the sport at the collegiate level.

IOANNIS: Ice Hockey

• Haringey Huskies player National Ice Hockey League

• Referee Level 2

• Captain and Founder of Haringey Hounds. Led team to promotion to Division 1, 2022-23 season

• Silver medal on international 3x3

Future Goals: As the youngest player, aims to help consolidate in Haringey Huskies and contribute to division 1 to help enter the elite league in 3 years. As a ref, aspires to be promoted to higher level and officiate international and Olympic Games. As a coach aims to become team coach of Haringey Hounds in 5 years.

JUSTIN: Football

• 23-24 AOC London regional champion

• Enfield borough 1st team keeper

• Saving a penalty in FA Youth Cup helping team advance to the next round

• Trials at Leyton Orient

• Winning the league 22-23 season

Future Goals: Aspirations for the next 12 months would be playing consistent professional level of football and gaining a deeper understanding of the game.

REMY: Football

• 23-24 AOC London regional champion

• Trials at Watford and Crystal Palace

• Football County Cup final FA Youth Cup right fullback / wingback

Future Goals: Goal for the next 12 months is to be playing first team weekly for a man’s club at step 4 or above.
