Million Teclamariam

• Joined Finsbury Park JCP in Oct 2024, facing personal and financial challenges. Referred to CCC and enrolled in the SIA SWAP programme

• Completed training in Dec 2024 with strong results. Gained confidence through CCC support and was hired by SES Security, becoming one of the first placed candidates Martin Boakes

Key Achievements and Partnerships

• The 9th TfL Women Into Construction & Engineering Programme delivered with five major subcontractors:

• ABM – Facilities Management (17 airports, 1600 sites)

• CUBIC – Oyster system management

• FM CONWAY (VINCI Group) – Infrastructure delivery

• Telent – Motorway CCTV & traffic tech

• YUNEX – Intelligent traffic enforcement systems

• Former timber business owner, lost £100k during COVID and had to close his company. Faced a year of unemployment, low confidence, and limited benefits

• Met at Romford Job Centre Plus and was referred to CCC. Passed Warehouse & Forklift course with flying colours and received tailored job support

• Secured a role as Business Development Manager at Arnold Laver (UK’s leading timber merchant), starting in July 2025

• Exclusive partnership with Tottenham Hotspur: 800+ stewards trained; now delivering L3 Spectator Safety to supervisors

• Crystal Palace FC (FA Cup Winners 2025) moved Spectator Safety training to our college

• Taylor Wimpey now embeds local labour recruitment in sub-contractor contracts (Section 106) following successful collaboration

• Enfield Construction Skills Academy now part of Employability team; expanding Retrofit (Green Skills) and practical construction training

• Volunteering at Global Generation (Finsbury Park):

• Students engaged in community-building activities.

• Explored sustainable practices in an urban garden setting.

• Gained valuable experience in environmental awareness.

• Recognised at the March ceremony for outstanding achievements.

• Last year’s winners have progressed to higher-level ESOL and vocational courses.

Hair & Beauty

• L3 Theatrical SFX Makeup learner won 1st place at Professional Beauty for the 2nd year running

• L2 Nail student secured 1st place at Professional Beauty competition

• Inter-college wins: L3 Beauty student took 1st & 2nd place; L2 Hairdressing student won 2nd place

Construction & Trades

• Tutors Martin Hick, David Vincent & Blerim Shala stepped in to support apprentices during a challenging year

• Their efforts led to apprenticeship courses gaining direct claims status from City & Guilds

Engineering

• L3 Engineering students collaborated with Morgan Sindall to survey and 3D model Angel Campus

• Participated in Canal & River Trust STEM Programme, tackling real-world water sustainability issues

Holloway centre

Performing arts students travelled to Budapest, Hungary, to work with another performing arts school

Students took part in a workshop and delivered an original dance performance at a Making Moves event hosted at Sadler’s Wells in London

Cultural day in May

• The cultural day at Holloway was a huge success, with performances from students, music and food that was enjoyed by all.

• Students enthusiastically immersed themselves in the event which was evident from the lively atmosphere on the day.

Community Iftar

• Holloway held a community iftar, organised by staff and students. The event was a great success and brought students and staff at the Holloway campus together to share food, reflect and celebrate.

BAFTA-Nominated Learner: Camila Montes Duque

• Camila, a student at Mosaic@Soho, was a finalist in the prestigious BAFTA Young Game Designer Awards.

• Her game concept, developed during coursework, showcased strong technical and creative skills.

• Camila’s work was exhibited at BAFTA HQ in London, alongside the UK’s top young talent.

• A rare achievement that highlights the quality of teaching and supportive environment at Mosaic@Soho.

• Her success has inspired peers and strengthened our partnership with BAFTA for future learners.

Cyber Security Champions

• CCC Digital & Computing learners won 1st place in the London-wide Inter-College Cyber Security Competition.

• Challenges included digital forensics, ethical hacking, and cyber resilience.

• Reflects the strength of our skills-based curriculum and growing industry links.

Mosaic@Soho Opens Its Doors

• Our new Digital & Creative Media hub launched in central London.

• Offers cutting-edge facilities in game design, animation, post-production, and cyber security.

• First cohort engaged in employer-led projects, competitions, and industry showcases.

Successful employment of our trainee teachers on the PGCE and DET programmes

• Seyedeh from PGCE Yr2 was successful in gaining paid employment in her placement in the English department at Holloway Centre.

• Zarif from PGCE Yr1 gained paid employment as an IT Lecturer via his placement at New City College, Redbridge.

• Maryam (Sakineh) Dalvand from the 2023/24 CELTA course gained work as an ESOL Lecturer at the Enfield Centre.

• Suman from DET Yr 2 gained a full time, salaried position as a Business Lecturer in South Thames College, an improvement from his hourly paid role at Waltham Forest. Finsbury Park centre

Professional Services

• Omotola Ayinde, AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting student won an Excellence Award for her performance on the programme, securing a overall "DISTINCTION" grade of 94%.

Yigit Yaman recently secured a placement with Barclays Bank after a round of interviews at the Finsbury Park Campus.

• Marcel Ndongala won all group games and semi-final; narrowly missed gold in final

• Contributed to London region also winning silver Basketball Scholarships Abroad

• Dante Margai (Power Forward) – Scholarship to North Carolina, USA

• Eli Francis & Valentino Ologundudu (Point Guards) –Scholarships to Budapest Prep, Hungary

Business & Marketing

Dubai Educational Visit

• L3 Business & Marketing students explored global business dynamics

• Activities included guest lectures on design thinking and interaction with AI mentor avatars

• Trip promoted independence and cultural awareness

HRC Show Success

Students and staff won the prestigious John Retallick Trophy and over 100 medals, showcasing exceptional talent and teamwork.

This victory reflects not only the remarkable talent of our students, but also the tireless dedication, mentorship, and behind-thescenes teamwork of our staff – proving that excellence is always a team effort.

Inter-College Skills Competition champions

• CCC is the overall winner of the first London Inter-College Skills Competition

• The largest event in over a decade in London & Southeast, with hundreds of students competing across 10 industrybased challenges

• Competitions endorsed by WorldSkills UK

• CCC students participated in all events and hosted Science (Angel) & Cyber Security (Soho)

• CCC scored twice as many points as the nearest runners-up

• This saw a 10x increase in WorldSkills UK entries compared to 2024 – strong momentum building

One Marylebone Students recognised at Excellence Awards ceremony

The annual Excellence Awards celebrate the success of students from across our college campuses, recognising their achievements and receiving an award on stage in front of friends, families, college staff, event sponsors and wider college stakeholders.

Nour Khanjar, winner of the Creative Media Learner of the Year award, said: “This feels like the start of my dream. You work hard and I’m so proud of what I achieved, I’m so excited, because this has made me have to work harder, and push myself more and more.”

Zaima Suhana, winner of the Outstanding Contribution to Student Voice Award, added: “Tonight was like… Heaven and Earth collided —in a good way. I didn’t expect this, and I’m so happy to see what’s next.”
