Taste Capricorn Coast - Project in the Spotlight

2020/21 saw the development of a new mouth-watering food venture, with the support of the Australian Government’s Bushfire Recovery initiative supporting the region in response to the devastating 2019 summer bushfires by funding the development of Taste Capricorn Coast (Capricorn Coast Food Trail). Capricorn Enterprise, in partnership with Livingstone Shire Council collaborated to discover the genuine taste of the Capricorn Coast, forging connections with grassroots local businesses including producers, restaurants and retailers. Featuring a bright new website, which incorporates maps, brochures, recipes and profiles of the 46 local businesses currently involved, Taste Capricorn Coast will encourage visitors and local residents to tour, explore, and stay longer in the region, providing opportunities to undertake farm tours, visit farm gate stalls, markets, cafes and restaurants, sample the produce and be educated in the nutritional, economic and taste benefits of consuming fresh produce.
