QTIC TOURISM INDUSTRY CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM

> Tourism Trade Mentoring

Thanks to State government funding, administered by QTIC and delivered in partnership with the RTO Network, Success Matrix (Amanda Kruse) delivered fully subsidised one-on-one mentoring (beginner to advanced level training) to the following businesses: • Oshen Yeppoon • Keppel Explorer • Keppel Dive • Stay Yeppoon • Rosslyn Bay Resort • Kortes Resort • Capricorn Caves • Great Keppel Island Hideaway • Pumpkin Island

Capricorn Enterprise secured additional funding to deliver 2 workshops in June, delivered by Amanda Kruse from Success Matrix. [SEE IMAGE 2, 3 & 4]

(1) Trade and Distribution

A ‘Tourism 2021 and Beyond Business Planning Breakfast’ was held on Thursday 24th June followed by a ‘Trade and Distribution’ workshop including 5 one on one sessions with trade ready operators.

(2) Experience Development and Packaging

10 key tourism operators attended the ‘Experience Development and Packaging’ working lunch/workshop with guest speaker Rob Lennon, Epic Travel on Wed 2nd

TEQ EXPERIENCE DESIGN WORKSHOP

TEQ in partnership with Capricorn Enterprise and Success Matrix delivered the first pilot program for 8 Capricorn operators. [SEE IMAGE 7 & 8]

SGBR LEADERS DINNER & FAMIL

In November 2020 an industry led networking event was hosted by Capricorn Enterprise, Gladstone Area Promotion & Development, and Bundaberg Tourism in Agnes Water to continue to connect and build on the existing SGBR operator relationships. [SEE IMAGE 1]

BEST OF QUEENSLAND

In 2021, the Capricorn region received a total of 116 operators eligible for BOQ compared with 83 operators eligible in 2019/20 (28.5% increase) with 68 operators receiving BOQ status in 2021 compared with 52 operators in 2019/20 (23.6% increase). The Best of Queensland Experiences Program report is provided by Tourism and Events Queensland for free to all Queensland operators listed on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse. The report provides valuable ReviewPro insights on consumer perceptions of Tourism operator experiences and is valued at over $1,000. It also allows operators to benchmark their performance relative to the destination and Queensland.
