Where do you get the groceries for the orders? We don’t actually store inventory but we shop a variety of stores in the area such as Sprouts for produce, Braums for dairy, and various major chains. We have also negotiated arrangements with local businesses such as butchers and bakers. No candlestick makers yet.

How does your pricing compare to that of the local stores? Most often, our prices are lower than Tom Thumb. We do add a 15% convenience fee to the subtotal, but the final bill is often lower than if the customer shopped for the items themselves.

ne thing often said of Canyon Creek is that it is “conveniently located” with its proximity to major roadways, employment opportunities, great schools, dining, and entertainment. To add to the list of conveniences, we now have home grocery delivery! Our local business spotlight this month is on Canyon Creek Grocery which is owned and operated by resident Micah Scrogginthorpe and his family. What types of items and services does CCG offer? CCG has an online store where customers can shop for groceries, fully prepared meals, and request prescription delivery. Customers can shop online and schedule delivery to their door. Why would someone pay to have groceries delivered? Well, say it’s late Sunday night and you’ve spent all weekend cleaning house, doing laundry, and chasing bobcats from your yard. You’re exhausted! The last thing you want to do is to shuffle out to Tom Thumb in your PJ’s because you’re out of milk. With us, folks can save time and money. Then there’s the convenience of having it all delivered to your door which is a great thing for families with kids, seniors, and folks in PJ’s. (Whispering) We even have bobcat proof delivery containers.

How is Canyon Creek Grocery different from other grocery delivery services in the area? We don’t have a membership fee; they do. We shop multiple stores; they don’t. What’s next for CCG? Well, we just got started last fall, so we are continuing to learn what works and what doesn’t. In the next year, we hope to continue to improve, get a steady set of repeat customers, and begin offering discounts to seniors. As we grow, we hope to provide jobs to stay at home moms, teens, and residents in the senior communities in and around Canyon Creek. We also hope to negotiate more deals with other local businesses to offer their items through CCG. My wife, my kids, and I honestly love giving back to the community and this is a great way for us to do it!
