Registration will be accepted at the following: brodheadwatershed.org/ events/grasslake, and parking directions will be emailed prior to the event to registrants. Located in the Long Pond Conservation Easement, which was protected by the Nature Conservancy and Bethlehem Water Authority for 70 years in 2011. This vast expanse of protected lands are wild and remote. The spring-fed, highelevation natural lake is surrounded by a landscape of swamps, bogs, marshes and coniferous woodlands that make up the Glacial Till Barrens. Reminiscent of what you would find in Northern Canada, this makes this a truly unique habitat because it happens to be right here in Northeast PA. The Till Barrens are composed of soil weathered from the glacial till of the See BARRENS, page 11
