WILLIAM R. MOLYNEAUX JR.

William “Billy” R. Molyneaux, Jr., 48, of Long Pond, died unexpectedly on Sunday night, May 7, 2023.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of Evelyn (Wade) Molyneaux and the late William Molyneaux, Sr.. He previously worked for All R’s Inc., Blade Service, Mountain Fuels and several side jobs, and currently owned his own business, Billy’s Home Improvements.

Billy enjoyed camping, hunting, deep sea fishing, bonfires, four wheeling and most of all, spending time with his family. He loved his dog, Star (she was the highlight of his day) and the Washington Redskins (but his family won’t hold that against him).

He will be remembered by his amazing sense of humor, his kindness and willing to help others. He was a loving son, father, brother and fiance. His jokes, smiles, laughter and grins will be missed dearly. We love you to the moon and back.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Jeannetta Molyneaux; a daughter, Hanna Molyneaux; his fiancée, Rebecca Hughes and her three children

Cody Shafer, Vanessa (Finn) Kirkham and Kaitlyn Kirkham; a niece, Samantha Demilio and her wife

Ambeli Demilio; a nephew, Bret Counterman; a greatnephew, Carter Demilio; a great-niece, Braelyn Demilio; his godfather, Ted Molyneaux; a goddaughter, Jacquelynn Rarick; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a goddaughter, Heather Wade.

Services will be held on Monday, May 15, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg with viewing beginning at 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3. Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clark Funeral Home to help defray expenses.

ORTHEA M. SERFASS

Orthea M. Serfass, 93, of Brodheadsville, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Slate Belt Health & Rehab Center, Bangor.

She was the loving wife of the late Charles E. Serfass. They spent many wonderful years of marriage together before his passing in 1979.

Born in Stockertown, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Haney and the late Hilda (Remel) Haney.

Orthea was a member of Mount Eaton Church in Saylorsburg. In her earlier years, she helped her husband with their dairy farm. She was also a sewing machine operator at the former garment mill, Nova Sportswear, in Brodheadsville. She was a faithful Christian who devoted her time to her church for many years.

Orthea was known by many to have the best peach and lemon meringue pies. She was very content in her life, and she enjoyed painting, vacationing, crossword puzzles, and flowers. Most of all, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

She is survived by a son, Robert Serfass and his wife Tracy of Kresgeville; three daughters, Charlene Singleton of Saylorsburg, Karen Corrado and her husband David of Saylorsburg, and Cheryl Sawyer of Saylorsburg; a brother, Gordon Haney of Shippensburg; a sister, Martha Kishbaugh of Saylorsburg; five grandchildren, Michael, Jason and his wife Kristin, Travis and his wife Lisa, Ryan, Caitlin; and three great-grandchildren, Avery, Phoenix, and Zafina. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl Serfass, and three grandchildren, Jolyne Serfass, Courtney Serfass, and Monica Corrado.

Services were held May 3 from Mount Eaton Church, Saylorsburg, with Rev. Joseph Cain officiating. Burial followed in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.

Roseann Depew

Roseann “Rosie” Depew, 62, a resident of Effort for over 30 years, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 in her home holding her beloved husband’s hand. She was the loving wife of Barrett “Bret” A. Depew Jr. They spent 38 wonderful years together.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Hopatcong, NJ, she was the daughter of Ada (Sierra) Paladino, the late William Escalera, and her late step-father, Russ Paladino.

Roseann was a caring homemaker for most of her life. She had a perpetual smile that would light up a room. She loved singing and had a beautiful voice, knowing all the words to every song. She always enjoyed vacationing and loved her annual family trips to Sandbridge, VA. She loved all of her cats and dogs throughout the years, especially her four-legged son, Brody. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter-in-law, sisterin-law, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Nicole Micklos and her husband Justin, Breanna Pecci and her husband Leighton, Chelsea Tillia and her husband Cory; four brothers, William Escalera, Arnold Escalera, Daniel Escalera, Joe Paladino; a sister, Victoria Edwards; five grandchildren, Taylor, Brantley, Vincent, Luca, Lia Rose; a mother-inlaw, Margaret Depew and her boyfriend Carl; and a sister-inlaw, Traci Depew.

A memorial service was held May 5 at the Kresge Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Simon officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Papillion, P.O. Box 332 Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or to AWSOM, P.O. Box 13 Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
