THE FUTURE OF MARKETING: NAVIGATING AI-POWERED TECHNOLOGY Marketing Matters

As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, the future of marketing is being shaped by AI-powered solutions and automation. In this article, we will explore how businesses can navigate this exciting landscape and leverage AI technologies to stay ahead in the fast-changing marketing world.

Embracing AI-Powered Marketing

Arti cial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way businesses approach marketing. With AI-powered solutions, businesses can unlock new opportunities and enhance their marketing strategies. As AI evolves, businesses can expect improved data analysis, customer segmentation, and personalized marketing campaigns –ultimately leading to greater customer engagement and business growth.

The Power of Automation

One key aspect of AI in marketing is automation. AI enables businesses to automate routine marketing tasks, such as social media scheduling, email campaigns, and customer service responses, and help sales teams with lead generation. Businesses can free up time and resources by automating these processes, allowing them to focus on higher-level strategies and creative initiatives that drive growth and improve the customer experience.

Enhanced Customer Insight

AI-powered analytics provide businesses with deep insights into customer behaviors, preferences, and purchasing patterns. These valuable insights enable businesses to create more targeted and personalized marketing campaigns. Leveraging AI algorithms, businesses can deliver tailored messaging, recommend products or services, and predict customer needs.

Chatbots: 24/7 Personalized Engagement

Chatbots powered by AI are transforming customer service experiences. Businesses can deploy chatbots to interact with website visitors, answer frequently asked questions, provide recommendations, and o er support – all in real time. This 24/7 personalized engagement strengthens customer relationships and improves overall customer satisfaction.

Adapting and Thriving

Embracing AI-powered marketing is crucial for businesses to stay competitive. To navigate this future successfully, businesses should:

• Stay Informed: Regularly educate themselves on the latest AI tools, technologies, and trends to stay ahead of the curve.

• Strategic Implementation: Identify areas in their marketing strategies where AI can provide the most value and determine the most e ective ways to integrate it into their existing processes.

• Continuous Learning: Encourage employees to upskill and stay updated on AI and related marketing disciplines to maximize the bene ts.

By adapting to AI-powered marketing, businesses can unlock new levels of e ciency, e ectiveness, and personalization in their marketing e orts, ultimately driving business growth in the rapidly changing business landscape.

Six Mistakes Small Businesses Should Avoid

Starting a small business can be incredibly rewarding, incredibly exhilarating and sometimes incredibly complicated.

With so many details to oversee and so many plates to keep in the air at once, it can be easy to make mistakes, both big and small.

Take a look at six of the most common mistakes that plague many new business owners and consider our advice on how to avoid falling victim to them.

MISTAKE NO. 1: PUTTING ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET

Relying too much on one “big” customer can be a business-ending mistake if that customer ever decides to take their business elsewhere, or if that customer goes out of business. It’s always best to make sure no single customer or client becomes a disproportionate part of your billing. From the beginning, work to expand your customer base.

MISTAKE NO. 2: “WINGING IT”

There’s a lot to be said for remaining agile. Being a small business with an ability to pivot, change gears or capitalize on sudden opportunities quickly — often before your bigger competitors can catch up — is a wonderful asset.

On the other hand, not developing a well-thought-out business plan or continuously changing directions can create headaches by never giving you the opportunity to establish expertise or build a reputation in your eld.

Don’t be so rigid that you can’t adapt as circumstances warrant, but stay true to your business plan and make adaptations within it.

If developing a strong business plan seems too daunting a task, SCORE can help.

MISTAKE NO. 3: REFUSING TO ASK FOR HELP

Asking for help isn’t a weakness. In fact, being able to draw on the expertise and experience of others — like a seasoned mentor — is what sets many of the most successful entrepreneurs apart from the rest.

You already have plenty of work to do on the high-level aspects of your business. It makes sense to delegate other tasks to people who specialize in them — hiring an accountant to do your taxes, for example, or a retaining a marketing rm to handle website design or advertising.

Similarly, there will be times when you come up against issues or problems that you simply can’t work through on your own. At times like these, a mentor or trusted advisor is worth their weight in gold.

MISTAKE NO. 4: NOT PREPARING FOR YOUR BUSINESS TO OPERATE WITHOUT YOU

One of the rst goals of many entrepreneurs is to get their business to a point where it can run without them. That means putting tested systems in place that can function without constant oversight and supervision, and that don’t rely on any one person — including you — to operate.

Think about what would happen if you were to get sick or need to step away from your business for any length of time. Would it survive? Or would your absence cause it to crumble? Strive to “work on your business, not in your business,” as the saying goes.

Consider grooming a trusted employee to “pinch hit” for you.

MISTAKE NO. 5: WORKING WITH UNSTABLE SUPPLIERS OR BECOMING TOO RELIANT ON A SINGLE RESOURCE

As with customers, it’s never a good idea to rely on a single person or company for every resource your business needs.

On the ip side of losing a single large customer that would put a nancial strain on your business is relying too heavily on a single supplier or distributor to reach a key market or to provide materials necessary for your business to operate. Always ask for customer references and work with multiple suppliers whenever possible.

MISTAKE NO. 6: NOT TAKING RULES AND REGULATIONS SERIOUSLY

Most entrepreneurs aren’t fans of overly complicated paperwork or excessive rules. That’s completely understandable.

The fact remains, however, that you could be putting your business at serious risk if you ignore or otherwise fail to adhere to important regulations and laws, especially the ones that govern your industry.

To avoid being blindsided by nancial penalties (or worse) when you least expect it, make an e ort to ensure you’re on the right side of the compliance fence when it comes to local, state and federal regulations and laws.

Introducing ...

Following years of close collaboration, the Greater Akron Chamber (GAC) and Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce (CRCC) have o cially formed the Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance (ACAA) with the mission of providing a regional platform for discussing, researching, and applying shared values and principles to public policy issues in the Akron-Canton region. Engaging the regional business community in the advocacy process will provide greater leverage to collective advocacy e orts, fostering a united approach from the Akron-Canton region on key policy issues in Columbus and Washington, D.C. Employer Handicap Reimbursement Program name change

The Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) Employer Handicap Reimbursement Program is designed to encourage employers to hire and retain employees with pre-existing medical conditions. In some circumstances the employer may be eligible for reimbursement of a percentage of claim charges if an employee with a preexisting condition suffers a lost time industrial injury or occupational disease and documentation supports that the pre-existing condition delayed the employee’s recovery.

The BWC has recently proposed terminology changes related to this program. Effective April 6, 2023, Ohio Revised Code 4123.343 was revised, and the term “handicapped employee” was replaced with “employee with a disability”. To align with the 2023 change, the BWC is updating references from “handicap reimbursement” to “disability relief”. These updates affect code terminology only and do not change program eligibly criteria.

To prepare for this upcoming terminology change, Sedgwick has begun updating correspondence materials to reflect the change from “handicap reimbursement” to “disability relief” and expect those updates to be completed soon. Although the program name is changing, Sedgwick cost containment services will continue to be best-inclass. Our dedicated team of experienced disability relief colleagues will continue to review eligible claims for relief opportunity, file disability relief applications, and achieve favorable outcomes on behalf of our clients.
