National Lineworker Appreciation Day
“Every line is important”
For the past two years, Electricity Canada has celebrated National Lineworker Appreciation Day, by drawing images of lineworkers supplied by our members with one single line.
If any utility line is cut it can mean people and essential services are without power. Lineworkers keep the lines together.

Every day, lineworkers across Canada work to keep electricity flowing into our homes, schools, hospitals, and businesses. These highly trained men and women install and maintain the electricity grid across the country, and repair essential infrastructure to keep the lights on.
Lineworkers are trained to work efficiently, collaboratively and most importantly, safely. During freezing rain, snowstorms, and heat waves, lineworkers are on the job, often exposed to the elements as they repair essential infrastructure in high-risk conditions.
In appreciation for their commitment to serve fellow Canadians and the resiliency of the electricity grid, Electricity Canada and its membership is proud to recognize and support all lineworkers by celebrating National Lineworker Appreciation Day on July 10th of every year.

Lineworkers use special tools every day to stay safe and get the job done. In this activity, match each tool to its correct name.
Oh no — a utility pole is down! Help the lineworker drive their bucket truck through the maze to reach the broken pole and fix the power.
Fill in the blanks with your own words — like animals, places, and wacky objects — and watch your story come to life.

Use this space to write a thank you letter and let a lineworker know how much you appreciate their dedication and bravery.
