Move-in can be an exciting and stressful experience. Our intent is to make your experience as enjoyable and easy as possible. In order to ensure an efficient move-in process, we will provide details that will help guide you through the check-in process. Please note that no one can check in on your behalf.

Please ensure to book your move-in time online. We ask that you respect the schedule and arrive at your designated time to ensure a smooth process for all tenants. If you do have any specific needs, please inform us prior to August 25, 2024.

PRE-CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS

To process your check-in and receive your keys, you must satisfy the pre-check-in requirements. The submission of your renters insurance and the booking of your move-in time and date.

PLANNING TO MOVE-IN AFTER MOVE-IN DAYS?

TEMPORARY GUEST SIGN-IN LIMIT

As part of our security and capacity protocols, you will only be allowed two (2) guest sign-in. This temporary measure is valid until September 5th, 2024 all other guest policy terms and conditions apply as per the resident handbook.

CHECK-IN GUIDE

AT HOME

1.PRE-CHECK-IN

To maximize your experience at move-in, our team has created a pre-check-in checklist of items we will need from you before you move-in. Receiving these items in advance will enhance your movein experience and avoid delays in processing your check-in and the collection of your keys.

To process your check-in and receive your keys, you must satisfy the pre-check-in requirements. These include:

1. Proof of Renter’s Insurance.

2. Payment of First Month’s Rent & Meal Plan.

3. Move-in Date & Time Booking.

2.BOOK YOUR MOVE-IN

To facilitate a smooth move-in process, you must book your arrival date and time! Get access to our dedicated move in team and experience our expedited move-in process. If you miss your movein time you will have to wait until an alternative time slot is available. Please take in to account, that Parkside is a city centre location, be mindful of traffic and construction zone that can delay your arrival.

3.READ RESIDENT HANDBOOK

The resident handbook is an extension of your lease agreement. This document includes important information, services and community rules and regulations (Community Standards). It is imperative that you make yourself familiar with the contents of the resident handbook.

AT PARKSIDE

6. ARRIVAL

If you’re arriving by car, please proceed to Parkside ( 111 Carlton Street) where a team member will direct you to an available unloading spot.

7. UNLOADING

Once at the unloading area, our move-in team will proceed to unload your vehicle. At this time you must proceed to the check-in table to commence the move-in process.

Parents, guests and/or drivers are asked to remain in/at the vehicle during this process as the unloading zone is a temporary unloading zone only. Vehicles are required to be removed after the unloading has been completed. Parkside will provide each vehicle with a map of available nearby parking locations.

*Parkside is in a city centre location, so please assure that you are following all municipal signs and traffic by-laws.

8.CHECK IN

Once at the check in desk, you will be checked in and provided with the access wristbands and check-in pass to proceed to the next stations. Please have your photo government issued Id ready for identity validation.

Once all stations are completed the resident will be able to go to their new room and unload their items.

9.UNIT CONDITION FORM

The Unit Condition form is to be filled out within 24 hours of your Move-In. Be detailed in describing items that were damaged before you moved in. This form will be used upon Move-Out to assess any necessary charges for damages. The resident is responsible for any damages not noted on this form that are found upon Move-Out. Note: Not every unit contains all of the items listed below.

THE Basics of MOVE-IN

A. ARRIVE DURING YOUR SCHEDULED MOVE-IN TIME

We have scheduled arrival times slots in an effort to control the number of people attempting to move into the building at any given time and to maximize safety. This will only work if residents arrive during their appointed time and not earlier or later. Please help us ensure move-in runs smoothly by arriving on your assigned date and time!

B. BRING TWO PERSON TO HELP YOU.

The guests must be accompanied by you after check-in and must receive a signin wristband.

ABOUT THE RESIDENCE LIFE PROGRAM:

Our goal is to provide the highest level of student service to our residents while providing a residential environment conducive to academic and personal success. The foundation of this service is to provide functional, comfortable living accommodations where students may rest, socialize and study.

THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS THAT YOU CAN BE INVOLVED IN THE PARKSIDE COMMUNITY:

1. Attend Welcome Week and Residence Life Programs

2. Run for a Residence Council position

3. Become a Community Assistant

WELCOME WEEK AND RESIDENCE LIFE PROGRAMS

Welcome Week and other Residence Life Programs are a great way to get to know the people in your community, have some fun, and even learn new things. Be sure to follow us on social media for event details and more!

RESIDENCE COUNCIL

The Parkside Residence Council will consist of residents just like you! At your first house meeting, you will receive more information about how to submit your nomination for election. As part of the Residence Council, you will be able to use your voice to represent your fellow residents and ensure a living environment that is conducive to academic, personal, and social development.

COMMUNITY ASSISTANT

Interested in being a community leader, having a positive influence, gaining valuable job experience, while having a ton of fun? Become a Community Assistant. At this time all of our Community Assistant positions have been filled. However, due to need to be prepared for staffing changes during the year, please speak to a Residence Life Coordinator if you are interested in being placed on a wait list or if you are interested in applying for the 2024-2025 year.
