JUNE JUNE

Dear Residents,

June is here, bringing the start of summer and the promise of sunny days ahead! As we move into this vibrant month, we’re excited to share some important updates and upcoming events at Parkside.

June is also Pride Month a time to celebrate love, identity, and the beautiful diversity within our community. We’re looking forward to hosting a series of fun and inclusive events throughout the month, including Make Your Own Pride Sunglasses, Tie-Dye Day, and more! We invite everyone to join in, express themselves, and show their support in colorful, creative ways.

As we look back on May, we hope you had a chance to celebrate your accomplishments and wrap up the semester on a strong note. Whether you powered through final projects, took steps toward your goals, or simply made time for yourself, those moments matter. Now, with summer beginning, June offers a fresh opportunity to slow down, soak up the sunshine, and ease into a new rhythm.

A reminder that your current lease term ends on August 20, 2025. If you haven’t already secured housing for the Fall 2025 term, now is the time! Renewal applications remain open, but spots are filling up quickly. Don’t miss the opportunity to continue living in the comfort and community of Parkside.

Thank you for being such a valued part of the Parkside community. Wishing you a joyful, restful, and pride-filled June!

Kind regards,

NATIONAL INDIGENOUS HISTORY MONTH

For generations, various Indigenous groups and communities have marked June 21 or the surrounding period to honor their culture and heritage, because of the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year.

June is a time to celebrate and reflect on the land we are on, acknowledging the diverse Indigenous Nations across Canada, each with their own unique languages, cultures, and traditions. For all Canadians, Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike, this month provides an opportunity to learn about the history, contributions, and sacrifices of Indigenous Peoples.

Long before Canada existed, Indigenous Peoples thrived on Turtle Island (which refers to the continent of North America), and their influence continues to shape the country’s past, present, and future. National Indigenous History Month invites everyone to explore and appreciate the rich heritage of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit nations.
