When he returned home, he married Martha Nelson of Red Willow and began farming and ranching, something they loved to do together. Jesse was a true horseman as everything he did involved horses, from a young boy riding horseback to school, to rodeoing and winning numerous awards for bronc riding, and, lastly, to owning and racing standard bred horses. Jesse was also a very proud member of the Standard Bred Horseman’s Association. Jesse loved to laugh and tell stories and will be fondly remembered by all. A memorial graveside service will be held at the Hastings Coulee Cemetery at a later date. He lived a very active sport life playing hockey, baseball, badminton and volleyball. Mike also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He spent countless hours dirt biking and sledding with friends and was famous for his bush parties. Mike will always be remembered as a loyal friend by many. December 9, 1913 – May 3, 1997 As life unfolds another year Treasured memories keep you near It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone that night For part of us went with you The night God called you home.

July 31, 1921 – April 2, 2011 Through tears we saw you fading, And we watched you pass away. Our hearts were almost broken, But when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful and free of pain, How could we wish you back with us again? Please, God, take this message to our parents and tell them how much we all miss them and give them our love!
