One hundred trained athletes, from eleven different clubs, known for their creativity, dedication to their sport and endurance will be amazing the audience when the
Camrose Spirals Jump Rope Club host Provincial Skipping Championships in our city, April 14 and 15. In its 20th year of operation, the Spirals will compete amongst the best jump ropers in Alberta at Our Lady of Mount Pleasant School. Team events will take place on Saturday. Master events take place on Sunday. One of the highlights of the weekend is likely to be the freestyle event where the talent of those involved really shines. Freestyle skipping can be compared to a gymnastics floor show or a figure skating performance choreographed to music. Jumping rope is a growing and popular sport in Camrose. The Camrose Spirals team has 28 competitive members who train for 1.5 hours, three times weekly.
