This is one of the many tools we use to create compatible bunk communities. While we cannot guarantee every request, all are taken into consideration.
There is Winaukee provided bussing and transportation from Westchester, NY and Boston Logan Airport both to and from camp. This form gives us information on how your son will travel to and from camp. It allows us to plan accordingly for staffing and vehicle purposes (i.e. save a seat for him on a bus, coordinate airport pick-ups, etc.).
This is reviewed by the Directors and leadership team responsible for your son. It enables us to know as much as possible so we can provide him with his best summer. Children and circumstances change from year-to-year. Therefore, as with all forms, we need this form completed each season.
This will allow you to sign your son up for intensive programs such as Tennis, Golf & Ice Hockey. These intensive programs are optional and require additional fees. Please refer to Page 9 for more information.
If your son is participating in the Ice Hockey program (optional as mentioned above), this is required.
Please let us know if you will be joining us for visiting day and how many people we can expect.
All campers need to have an annual physical with their pediatrician AND this documentation must be submitted in order for your son to attend camp. Physicians must sign and print or stamp their address and phone number on the form. You may have your doctor complete our blank form, or you may use any paperwork provided by your doctor's office. Once completed, please upload the documentation to your MYWINAUKEE dashboard.
You may use our provided form to document your child’s immunization records or upload a copy of the records provided by your physician. We do not require any immunizations at this time, but do require we have a record on file.
To be completed by a parent/guardian. Please be thorough so we have complete knowledge of your child’s health history up through the current year.
This information will be used for any medical visits to hospitals in case of emergency or for prescriptions needed during the summer. Please be thorough so we have complete information and there are no delays in care should an emergency arise.
If your camper has a DAILY medication routine - this includes any DAILY prescription medication, DAILY over the counter medication, or DAILY vitamins supplements that will be administered during her time at Camp Winaukee requires that you send these medications to camp before your camper’s session begins. This lead time will allow our nurses time to review medications, contact you with questions, and prepare for your son’s arrival. Any Emergency medications can travel with your son and be handed to a nurse upon arrival at camp.
All DAILY medications must be sent in original pill bottles, or in unopened new packaging (i.e. new box of claritin). We will not accept any pills that are opened, pre-packed or in ziplock bags. Medications should be accompanied by the Medication Distribution Form (found in your myWinaukee account) and sent by the following date to the below address:
WINAUKEE IN 2: Medications are due at camp no later than June 13th.
FULL SUMMER (7-Week): Medications are due at camp no later than June 13th.
FIRST SESSION (4-Week): Medications are due at camp no later than June 13th.
SECOND SESSION (3-Week): Medications are due at camp no later than July 10th.
An important note for families: Camp is not the time to give your son “a break” from his medication. If his doctor prescribed a medication, it’s important that this continue at camp. Please feel free to contact Ashleigh directly to discuss any questions you have surrounding your camper’s medication routine.
Please reinforce the following rules with your son before he arrives at camp. All rules and policies apply when campers are under our care, including on trips or tournaments outside of camp.
The use of disrespectful and/or inappropriate language or behavior towards peers or staff is not allowed. Physical force used to harm someone else is not allowed. Racist and/or bigoted comments, regardless of intention, will not be tolerated. No one is allowed to have fun at someone else’s expense.
The possession, distribution and/or use of drugs, alcohol or tobacco in any form is strictly prohibited. This includes cigarettes, edibles, tinctures, e-cigs or any vaping device. Additionally, this includes prescription & OTC drugs outside of our health center. Any camper violating this policy will have their parents notified immediately and will be dismissed from camp without a refund.
Campers who deface camp property will be required to remove graffiti, may be billed for damages and/or be asked to leave camp.
Please think twice before sending any valuable, expensive or irreplaceable items to camp. Items can be misplaced or lost easily in a communal living environment like summer camp.
Any weapon of any kind is strictly prohibited at Winaukee. This includes, but is not limited to; knives (including Swiss Army), laser pointers, matches, lighters and fireworks.
One of the ways we provide positive experiences for our campers is by limiting electronics in our environment, thereby encouraging socialization through traditional camp activities. We thank you in advance for your cooperation with and support of these policies.

It is important that your son receives mail while at camp. This is especially vital in helping new campers adjust. We advise families to send the first letter several days before their son’s arrival at Winaukee. We encourage campers to write home twice a week. We urge all families to send stamped/addressed envelopes, additional stamps and cards or paper with their sons to camp.

Camper emails are printed once daily at 11:00am and placed in your son’s mailbox to be picked up by his counselor with the rest of the bunk mail in the afternoons. Emails received after 11:00am will be distributed with the following day’s mail.
Birthdays at camp are awesome! We make sure your son feels extra loved and celebrated throughout the day. He will be recognized at our fire circle, get a birthday cake, jump in the lake, and hear the happy birthday song multiple times! If you would like to arrange something ‘extra’ (like a bunk party) please reach out prior to his special day.
BirthdayPackage: You may send a birthday package to your son. Please mark ‘BIRTHDAY GIFT’ with the date of the birthday on the outside.

Open to campers who can skate backwards and have solid fundamental skills. Weekly coaching sessions at Plymouth State University’s hockey rink will help your son keep up his stick and puck skills.
Open to all campers in 4th Grade & older or with solid fundamental skills. Participants will be taken off campus to local golf courses to receive extensive 1-on-1 instruction from our golf coaches.
Visiting Day starts at 10:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm.
Please complete the Visiting Day RSVP in your MyWinaukee account.
All Winaukee families are encouraged to join us for Visiting Day. You will have the chance to participate in sports and activities, meet your son’s counselors and friends, enjoy a picnic lunch and share in the special Winaukee spirit.
Under no circumstances are campers to leave camp on Visiting Day. The only exception is for Island Seniors. They may leave with their parents at 1pm (after signing out at the mainland office) and must return to camp and sign in at the mainland office no later than 10pm. Younger siblings may not accompany their brothers.
We strongly urge you to keep food and gifts to a minimum on Visiting Day.
Please remember we are a Nut Aware facility. Anything brought to camp that may contain nuts will be immediately discarded. Food also attracts animals into the bunks. For this reason, excess food will be removed from cabins by bedtime that evening.
Hotel reservations should be made early. Please refer to the list of nearby accommodations on pg. 17.
We prohibit offering gratuities or gifts to counselors and staff.
No pets allowed.
In a continued effort to provide your child with the very best healthcare this summer, you are required to use Rite Aid Pharmacy in Meredith NH to fill your son’s prescriptions. Rite Aid packages medications for us according to date and time of administration. This ensures every camper gets the correct medication and dosage at the right time and on the right day. It will also allow your son to return to his camp activities sooner, because pre-packaged and organized medicines can be dispensed more quickly. We are confident that this program will help to enhance the health, well-being and safety of your child.
Please note that vitamins and medications will not be accepted at drop off. Any as-needed or daily medications/vitamins must be sent through Rite Aid Pharmacy.
All medical attention in our camp infirmary is covered by your tuition. All additional costs incurred off-campus are the responsibility of the camper’s parents. These include: refilling previously prescribed medication, emergency room visits, local physician’s visits, and/or outside providers of medical attention. All of the above will be billed to your medical insurance carrier. Visits to dentists and orthodontists are billed directly to parents.
We have some campers with severe allergies to peanuts, sesame and/or tree nuts. Direct or indirect exposure could be life threatening. Please do not bring or send any prodcuts containing nuts to camp. Food with the disclaimers “may contain traces of nuts” or “manufactured in the same facility as peanuts or tree nuts” are not considered safe at Winaukee. This policy is in effect when campers board our trasnporation to camp.
We can accommodate most dietary restrictions. Email ASHLEIGH to make a plan.
Self contained communities like camps are especially vulnerable to head lice. Our medical team checks all campers as they arrive. If any positive cases of lice are found, the camper is treated on-site. For campers who arrive with lice, the parents will be billed for treatment; which we will begin immediately so your son can stay in his cabin the first night of camp. We encourage you to have your child checked for head lice prior to camp. If any sign of head lice is found, arrange for appropriate and immediate treatment well BEFORE your child leaves for camp and let us know that such treatment has taken place.
You must fully complete ALL sections of the Emergency Contact Information and Summer Travel Plans online on your MYWINAUKEE account. Be sure to include two emergency contacts. If you are going to be out of the country/unreachable on your primary contact number at any point during the summer, please email us.
1. If your son stays overnight in the health center to be monitored for any reason, you will be notified. We will generally not contact you if your son is seen by a nurse for routine problems, such as minor skin abrasions, headache and colds.
2. In the event that your son requires medical attention on site from our camp doctor or off site from another provider.
3. In case of emergency, we will contact you by phone as soon as possible.
Winaukee asks that all camper baggage be shipped ahead of arrival. Thank you for your cooperation.
R&B Camp Baggage is a great option for our families living in the NorthEast of the U.S. If you use R&B, pick-up of baggage will be seven to ten days prior to camp. Return of baggage after camp is typically within three days. Only duffle bags and soft trunks are permitted. In June, you will be contacted directly by R&B regarding baggage pick-up dates. R&B will provide families with pre-printed shipping labels, bag ties to secure bags for shipping, date of pickup/return and complete instructions.

Boys are not permitted to check bags on chaperoned Winaukee domestic flights. Please be sure your son has a minimal amount of carry-on luggage. If your son will be checking bags for international flights, please consult your airline for current travel restrictions and make sure to pre-pay any bag fees. Campers travelling internationally do not need to send their bags ahead of time.
