The hardshell of the Skycamp has an insulating air zone between its outer and inner layers, which keeps out the cold as well as outside noise. Lightweight aluminium honeycomb floor panels provide an additional layer of insulation, keeping your tent always warm, dry and cosy inside.

EASY SETUP

Thanks to its lightweight design, the Skycamp 3.0 is an easy two-person lift onto the crossbars – as easy to install as a roof box – and is secured in place with the included mounting brackets.

WILL THE ROOFTOP TENT FIT ON MY CAR AND WHAT DO I NEED TO MOUNT IT?

The rooftop tent can be mounted on almost any vehicle. All you need are two crossbars or a roof rack and a minimum roof load capacity of 75 kg. The rooftop tent is simply mounted on the crossbars and secured with the included mounting brackets. Most cars have a roof load capacity of 75 - 100 kg, but that's just the weight the car can handle while driving! When the car is stationary the load capacity of the roof is considerably higher.

PREMIUM MATTRESS

We have increased the thickness of the mattress in the Skycamp 3.0 by 40 % as compared to the previous model. The new mattress with nine sleep zones is now even thicker than the Skycamp 2.0 mattress and has an additional insulation layer for colder nights.

EVEN MORE SPACE

We have completely revamped the fibreglass hardshell, so it now offers more room for sleeping bags and pillows, even when closed. In its huge sleeping area the Skycamp comfortably sleeps up to four people. No other hardshell rooftop tent is as spacious as ours with its king size bed.

QUICKER MOUNT

Compatible with a wide range of crossbars and easier mounting without having to reach underneath the rooftop tent: The universal mounting system is suitable for most vehicles and crossbars.

NEW LATCHES

Reengineered locking latches for more secure mounting of the rooftop tent on roof racks that fit close to the car roof.

EASY ACCESS TO TENSION POLES

An additional pocket in the entryway allows you to keep your tension poles ready at hand.

REMOVABLE LADDER

For cars with a low roof load capacity, the ladder can be removed with the flick of a wrist and transported inside the vehicle. This lowers the roof load by approx. 6 kg.

ROLL-UP CANOPIES

With the new quick-roll system you can easily open and close the windows from inside the tent. The side windows have three layers – mesh, polyester and blackout canvas – to provide protection against rain and prying eyes. The skylight window provides extra light by day and a great view of the stars at night.

CABLE ACCESS

An opening is built into the aluminium floor for easy feeding of cables into the rooftop tent.

The streamlined design of the hardshell not only reduces wind resistance on the road. Its innovative fibreglass case has an air zone between its outer and inner layers. This not only makes the hardshell particularly tough and durable, but also insulates the interior of the tent against outside noise and cold. The iKamper hardshell is made by experts who have been producing high-tech fibreglass for over 30 years.

HIGH-GRADE MATERIALS, METICULOUSLY PROCESSED

The tent cloth is made of a high-grade, heavy cotton blend, also known as sailcloth or canvas. This is a material masterpiece made of cotton and polyester that unites the benefits of natural fibres and high-tech fabric. The result is a tear-resistant, breathable cloth that has a pleasant feel and great dimensional stability – ideal for the capricious weather in Europe.

The Skycamp 3.0 Mini offers all the features of the Skycamp 3.0 with the advantage of having a shorter shell. This makes it ideal for smaller vehicles or if you need to leave room on the roof rack for other gear. The compact model comfortably sleeps two people.

ANNEX TENT PLUS

Not only does it offer additional space, but protection from the elements as well. With its large window you have a clear view of your surroundings and can enjoy a generous sense of spaciousness. Since the annex tent Plus stands up on its own, it can easily be accessed from all sides. A clear window can also be added for more light.

AWNING

Stay dry when it rains and cool when the sun is out. When combined with the optional side panels, the awning will even protect you from wind or rain blowing in from the side. Simply set it up by zipping the awning onto the BDV, just above the side entrance.

SOLAR PANELS

You can mount more than additional gear or sports equipment on your hardshell: solar panels can also be installed here, allowing you to camp fully self-sufficiently at the most remote places on earth.

PANORAMA WINDOWS

Expansive windows and a wide entryway give you a great view of the stunning landscape at all times. Enjoy the feeling of infinite freedom,fresh air and spectacular views during both day and night. All doors and windows can be zipped up with mosquito nets and the windows can additionally be sealed with clear polyester covers. A rainfly offers further protection in case it rains. Simply roll it up above the entryway and hope you won’t need it.

SETUP

It doesn’t get much quicker than this: In a mere 15 seconds this rooftop tent is deployed and ready for you to move in. Once the latches are released, just give the BDV hardshell a nudge and the tent will practically pitch itself. Now all you have to do is set up the ladder, mount the poles for the rainfly and start enjoying your vacation.

TENT MATERIAL

The BDV tent is made of organic cotton and recycled material. The fabric is GRS and OCS certified and meets all criteria of the OEKOTEX STANDARD 100, product class 1. Of course, the entire material is waterproof, blackout, absolutely robust and very durable.

With this modular camping kitchen you’ll rediscover all the possibilities of outdoor cooking. The Disco series can be used any way you need and at various heights. The key element is a height-adjustable tripod on which a gas cooker and a flat pan can be mounted. The pan (or any other pot) can also be hung under the tripod just as easily. This awning is the world’s first awning with an aluminium hardshell case that can be set up and folded down in just a few minutes. It distinguishes itself through its sturdy design and clear lines. The awning can be used as a self-supporting canopy or with extra support poles for added stability on windy or rainy days. The poles can be stowed on calm days.

SIDE PANELS

Optional side panels provide additional protection from the elements and prying eyes whilst keeping pesky insects from infesting your camp. The side panels are equipped with extra large windows and an entry way.

ANNEX TENT PLUS

The annex tent Plus offers an incredible amount of space and can be accessed from all sides. It can also be fitted with an inner tent, transforming it into an additional cabin for sleeping.

But the best thing is: It stands up on its own. This enables you to use the car without breaking camp. The annex tent Plus is recommended for vehicles with a height of at least 1.80 m and is compatible with the Skycamp 2.0 and 3.0.

The inner tent is perfect for sleeping under the stars on cool nights, as it offers excellent insulation. AWNING

The awning for the rooftop tent doubles the size of the sheltered living area in front of your tent, protecting it from rain and sun. It’s made of 100 % waterproof material and fits on the Skycamp 2.0 and 3.0 or the X-Cover. It zips onto the rooftop tent and can be easily set up with the four tent poles that come with it.

WIND SHIELD

For those bright and sunny days! Expand the shelter your awning already provides, right where you need it. The wind shield will also offer protection from wind and light rain. Easy to attach and compatible with all iKamper awnings.

The HC Steps allow for a more comfortable climb in and out of your tent, especially when walking barefoot or in your socks: It converts the narrow rungs to actual stairs, allowing you to use the ladder almost like a staircase. The fabric also reduces the risk of slipping on the steps.

WILL THE SKYCAMP ROOFTOP TENT FIT ON MY CAR?

The rooftop tent can be mounted onto almost any vehicle that has a minimum dynamic load capacity of 75 kg. All you need are 2 crossbars or a roof rack. The tent comes with its own mounting brackets for securing on these carriers. The ladder can be removed to reduce the weight on the roof by approx. 6 kg while driving. We’ll be happy to provide you with the right load carrier for your vehicle along with your order.

Yes, all you need is a carrier with 2 crossbars to mount it on the flatbed or a sturdy pickup cabin that can carry a dynamic load of 75 kg.

HOW MUCH DOES THE SKYCAMP ROOFTOP TENT WEIGH AND HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN IT HOLD?

The Skycamp rooftop tent weighs approx. 74 kg and can carry up to 400 kg. Please bear in mind that the exact weight can vary slightly as the fibreglass hardshell is handmade.

CAN I LEAVE MY BEDDING IN THE TENT?

Yes! Even when you fold up the floor extension of the rooftop tent, there’s still plenty of room for sleeping bags, blankets, pillows and clothing.

HOW EASY IS IT TO MOUNT THE ROOFTOP TENT?

Thanks to the lightweight construction of the Skycamp rooftop tent it weighs only about 74 kg, so with a helping hand or two you can easily lift it onto the car roof. You should plan in 30 minutes the first time you mount it, and once you’ve had a bit of practice it should take less than 10 minutes.

CAN I DISMOUNT THE ROOFTOP TENT FROM THE CAR JUST AS QUICKLY?

Yes, no problem, it should take you less than 5 minutes.

WILL I NEED ANY ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR MOUNTING THE TENT?

All the components you need are included with the tent, you only need a roof rack.

DO I HAVE TO RE-IMPREGNATE THE TENT?

Normally not, thanks to our special high-pressure waterproofing. With one exception: If the tent is exposed to certain environmental influences or if chemical cleaning agents have been used on it, you should use a waterproofing spray on these spots after cleaning the tent.

Important is also to remember that no hairspray, spray deodorant or other such products should be used inside the tent, as the chemicals they release can have a negative impact on the impregnation performance.

IS THE HEIGHT OF THE LADDER ADJUSTABLE?

Yes, we offer a 30 cm extension for the standard ladder.

MY ROOF LOAD CAPACITY IS TOO LOW. WHAT CAN I DO?

If you remove the ladder of the rooftop tent and stow it in your car when driving, you can reduce the weight on your roof by about 6 kg.
