DEDICATION: Abe klein 2

My father used to brag to me about how much work went into the Avodian back in his day; how they would have to take each individual photo, line it up, and develop it straight onto the page, and write every article using a typewriter. I do concede that the improvements in technology have made our lives much easier, but I still think some of us put just as much work into making sure the summer is well documented. One immediately jumps to mind: the one behind the lens — Abe Klein. Abe dedicates each day to capturing the joy and adventure of hundreds of children’s summers. He walks laps around camp, taking action shots of all different periods, from waterfront to league, even services and evening activities. He peppers each and every group of campers with a “buddy smile,” or a “squish together,” ensuring every candid he takes represents as much of the pure spirit that this summer camp has. In addition, he takes four periods out of his day to teach the Avoda photography elective; giving campers expert advice on shooting and composing the best photographs, and even helping them develop and enlarge film pictures. You might also hear him serenading the camp on his guitar as the sun sets on the waterfront for services, or as the night grows deep during the banquet.

Over the last thirteen years, Abe has connected parents to their sons through his masterful practice of photography. He sets a precedent for all campers, that they can go merrily about their days without worrying if they will remember their fondest moments. His consistency is unmatched, drive unwavering, and professionalism to the highest degree. If there is anyone who should be honored for the work they put into documenting and solidifying each special summer, it should be him; so we are very pleased to dedicate this 2023 Avodian to Abe Klein. “AyyyAbe!” - Written by Ryan Wilkov with Sam Peljovich & Alex Leibman

The Avodian 2023

SHARON SOCK Avodian Designer

Coming into the summer the Avodian staff had a lot of work cut out for them. Co-heads of Avodian Adin Silva and Ryan Wilkov held it down while making it a fun time. The campers consisted of: Ryan Jacoby, Jon Rubin, Cy Greenblatt, Jonah Bramson and CITs, Alex Leibman, Benny Hasenberg, and Sam Peljovich. They went to work writing articles and getting pictures to make an amazing final product. WE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT THE OFFICIAL 2023 AVODIAN!

4TH OF JULY

Leading up to July 4th the 2k22 Bunk 14 worked for many hours collecting firewood deep in the forest past the archery range. When July 4th came around there was much anticipation for the carnival normally hosted all day, consisting of a giant water slide, racing through an inflatable obstacle course and the dunk tank. Unfortunately there was a thunderstorm on the forecast so the carnival was shut down. Campers still made the most of the day when DJ Los hosted a dance party in the rec hall. While this was going on, bunk 14 and the counselors made their best efforts to salvage the fire. Once the thunderstorm passed, bunk 14 worked on draining the fire for the rest of the night until it was time to light it. The bonfire started off slow but lit up the sky and made for an amazing display. There were many great speeches from all age groups and it turned out to be a great day after fireworks closed out the night. Finally, the carnival was able to resume the next day, making up for the missed fun the previous day.

FLAGRUSH

It was a beautiful first night at Camp Avoda and the campers and counselors were buzzing with excitement as they waited for the evening activity to be announced. The illustrious CITs were called to the microphone and boisterously screamed “Flagrush!” sending the entire mess hall into a frenzy. Captains were announced and kids headed back to the bunk to prepare for the legendary battle. White charged forward early, led by the speedy Borokhov brothers. They glided across the enemy side as if they were on horseback, crushing any and all opponents in their way, including Ref Max Veksler, an unfortunate and unsuspecting bystander. Blue countered quickly though, with Ethan Musheyev scoring a camp record of 25 flags before being called out and sent to jail on a controversial call. The half ended with Blue up 8 points but spirits remained high on the white team, partially due to a “Remember the Titans” like motivational speech by main offender Drewski Magilps. The vibes were immaculate as both teams stepped onto the field for the second half. Tensions were high and both teams paced back and forth, ready to pounce. Blue quickly faltered due to the heroics of Max Shabashav, the defensive guru for team white, as he dismantled the approaching enemy with elegance and ease. With the majority of the blue team in jail, Ryan Jacoby strolled casually into enemy territory, sneaking past the likes of Isaac Orchowski, Cy Greenblatt, and Ben Newton. Blue was up one going into rushes and White had one rush left. They sent out weekend warrior, Zack Leibman, to take the rush. He gallantly sprinted up the middle of the field before seemingly falling onto the grass…Yet somehow he managed to keep his hand under him and save himself from falling. With the other team confused and shocked he jogged over the half and met the rest of the now victorious White team on second base. Their cries of “We’re Number One” echoed throughout camp concluding an amazing first day.

70

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

ZOOBALL On the second night of Camp Avoda, as the campers, counselors, and CIT’s alike enjoyed a delectable meal of tortellini, tensions rose as Alex Shifman walked up to the podium to announce the evening activity. With no microphone needed, his commanding voice reverberated one word around the mess hall, “ZOOBALL!”. As blue and white took their sides, they were led by fearless leaders, Matt Cipriano, Evan Flaum, Avi Rochwerger, and Jonathan Rubin. The matchup was intense, as in just 20 seconds, DJ Vetstein had already scored two dropkicks on Max Kleinmann. Gary Rabinowitz and Ken Shifman were a brick wall in net, putting up a shutout in the first half. However, in the penalty kicks at half, they got lit up by Blue’s 6 penalty kicks, opposed to White’s 0, which led to it being a tie game into the second half. The captains brought their teams aside, and with fiery pep talks, got their teams ready for war. As the countdown begins, the tension is palpable as the two teams are growling at eachother, locked in for the incoming half. The competition made for an exciting, classic matchup. In the second half, blue tried to storm back. Ben Maron scored a throw from his own crease and Cy Greenblatt scored a kick on goalies: Owen Sherman and Ben Williams. The score was becoming closer and closer as JoCo shouted out, “10 minutes remaining in Zooball!” With only 10 minutes left to take the lead, Zach Gessman of the blue team locked in. He received a perfect pass from Josh Goble and buried the game tying shot. Next, the teams gathered by the goals to hear the situation and start the iconic zooball penalty shootout used for all close games. The score was tied. Tyler Goldberg stepped up to take the first shot for blue but Micah Gladstone got in the way and saved it. The next shot for white could determine the winner of the game if they scored. Sam Kaplan was ready. As his foot struck the ball the camp went silent. The ball was rocketed towards goal but saved by Eric Friedman. The CIT refs gathered to share their ruling. Wait! There was a movement call on goalie Jonah Bramson! Kaplan got ready for his reshot. This time he made contact with the ball and there was no doubt it would be a goal. As the ball hit the back of the net, the white team sprinted towards second base, led by their captains, as the winners of the 2023 opening zooball game.

DESERT WAR

Desert War 2023 By Cy Greenblatt and Jonah Bramson The final week of the first month had finally arrived, and with it came the much-awaited desert war. Campers from both Bunk 14 and other bunks were excited and nervous in equal measure, eagerly anticipating the day’s events. In the day leading up to the big day, Bunk 14 had devised a plan to make a commotion at the talent show and create a fake break. Gabe Kurland, one of Bunk 14’s campers, would get into a fistfight with Carlos, the counselor of the bunk. As the fight ensued on stage, the other campers in Bunk 14 quickly rushed to break it up, and suddenly announced “It’s desert war!” Despite this, bunk 14 then started the “it’s a fake” chant and came together to do the camp alma mater. However, all the counselors soon stormed onstage and broke desert war for real. The kids were sent back to their bunks to get some sleep before the big day. When line up blew the following morning, campers rushed to the flagpole, eagerly waiting to find out which teams they would be on. Captains Jonah Bramson and Ryan Jacoby for the Blue Apocalypse and Eric Friedman with Cy Greenblatt for the White Blitz walked down the path followed by the rest of the staff; each team sprinted to their respective bases to organize and prepare for the big game ahead. Both teams headed to the field for some stretching and a reading of the rules. And, as the game began,

86

DESERT WAR

there was no shortage of action. Rushes and jailbreaks were plentiful, but no flags were scored, until Marcus Levin brought home the beach flag to score for the white team. In the second period Logan Layish had an amazing throw from the field flag to someone on the line which scored another for the Blitz. Despite this early lead by the White Blitz, the Blue Apocalypse would not go down without a fight. In the second half of the game it looked like it was slipping away for the Apocalypse, they were down three and had yet to score a flag. Some hope was restored when Zack Liebman zipped through the Blitz defense to score the field flag for blue. But that momentum was quickly taken away when Ben Newton scored the PGD for the white team. At this point it looked very hard for the Blue Apocalypse to pull through when out of nowhere. Jonah Bornstein scored the PGD for blue, restoring the Apocalypse’s momentum: now they were only down two points going into the final thirty minutes. Yet, in the end, the White Blitz was able to lock down on defense, stopping every Apocalypse rush and jailbreak until it was time to victoriously jump into the lake after a very well-fought and stressful desert war. Every camper walked away from desert war with memories that would last a lifetime.

BLUE bandits FIGHT SONG

FREE CHOICE

“Burn it to the Ground” by Nickelback

“Dixieland Delight” by Alabama

[Verse 1] It’s the last night, of this fight We’re wound up too tight We’ve got a leash on the huskies Basically puppies Here come the bandits were on the attack We’re fearless, courageous, Spirit won’t crack

Verse 1: (arriving at camp) Driving down Gibbs Road, swerving those potholes One thing on my mind Back with my brothers, and the colors A sweet, warm, summer day Waited the whole year, to be back here (on a middleboro Sunday night) Couldn’t feel better, we’re together With our A-vo-da delight

[Chorus] We’re gonna swim tonight You know we’ve won the fight The bandits are elite Our victories in sight We’re going till we put the huskies down Bandits jump into the lake tonight [Verse 2] We dominate on the field Beat you down you must yield We know your teams weak, can’t compete All bark no bite Oh, you’ve got no brawn, no brains Bandits, on the chase Blue team has more fight, more pride white is terrified [Chorus] We’ll bring the lake to life You’ll whimper from the side You never stood a chance Game over on sight Blue’s sending all the huskies to the pound Bandits jump into the lake tonight [Verse 4] Screaming out our fight song Drinking till the nights gone (winning games all week long) Well, get your hands off of this glass (those puppies were demolished Last call my ass (we fought hardest) Well, no chain, no lock ( all gas, no breaks) And this train won’t stop (and this team won’t stop) We got no fear, no doubt All in balls out (Bandits time now) [Chorus] We’re gonna swim tonight You know we’ve won the fight The bandits are elite Our victories in sight We’re going till we put the huskies down And jump into the lake tonight!

Chorus: (how camp makes you feel) Spend our summer Living in heaven, look at the lake tonight Do our best to, cherish these moments Right over left we sing with all our brothers tonight Fits our life, oh, so right A-vo-da paradise Verse 2: (best parts about camp) Old-School Beanie, embrace tradition Looking up, reading all the names Scored in flagrush, flying on cloud nine Free as the feelin’ in the wind That winning lake jump, in sacred water On a middleboro Sunday night It’s all the little things, that makes this camp great In our Av-o-da delight

COLOR WAR

Chorus: Spend our summer Living in heaven, cry tears of joy all night Do our best to, cherish these moments Arm-and-arm we sing with all our brothers tonight Feel our bunk, reunite Av-o-da paradise Verse 3: (never leaving) Can’t wait to be back here, the same time next year Counting down the days Taking in the beauty, all around us A perfect summer day Have so much love, and a will to share it On a middleboro Sunday night Couldn’t feel better, we’re together In our A-vo-da delight

ALMA MATER “Hallelujah” by Rufus Wainright Verse 1: Now son there is this place I know Down at the end of ole Gibbs Road It may be a little new and scary to you So hear me now, you’ll find your friends Your story starts, it all begins These next 2 months, spark a lifetime of memories Chorus: So amazing, dad you said it 10 long months and I’ll be back here Verse 2: Your 14 year it came so fast Each year you’re eager to come back But now it is your last year as a camper One door closed, the next appears So lead with pride and conquer fears After all, you’ve found A second home here Chorus: Time-as a camper, gone with the sun Will I be back here or am I done?

94

Chorus: Spend our summer Living in heaven, these benches fall tonight Do your best to, cherish these moments white and blue always bleeding these colors for life Fits our life, oh, so right Avoda paradise

Verse 3: Long before you were just a boy Now I see a man that’s full of joy From all the years that camp has given to you And when you find a camper in tears Just go back look upon your years Show him what makes this place so special Chorus: Is it time for, me to move on Dad why can’t I, stay forever Verse 4: I showed you camp so long ago It’s all you’ve learned to love and know And I hope your son returns again, to here Hello again to your favorite place Nostalgia hugs with a warm embrace And now all that we can say is hallelujah Chorus: Hallelujah, Hallelujah Camp Avoda, Hallelujah

WHITE huskies FIGHT SONG [Verse 1] White fought em off The Huskies you could not even hold us back The field we ran you off You’re efforts were to weak for this fierce dog pack And we’re thinking to ourselves how did we even get this team The bandits stole nothing but we stole a victory [Pre-Chorus] And the message that we want to say it that we’ve won this WAAAAAAAAAAAAAR [Instrumental Chorus] OOOOOOH OOOOOOH OOOOOOH [Verse 2] Don’t want to hear you cry You did this to yourself right from the start Did you guys even try The huskies took a bite right from your heart And if you wanted to stand a chance you should’ve fixed your crew. Bandits may be lawless but we got some rules for you [Pre-Chorus] And one of those rules is that it’s time for you to go HOOOOOOOOOOOME

Champagne Supernova

Verse 1: Counting the days until I’m back Excitement grows, can’t wait to pack Almost time to be where I belong Finally the school year ends Reunite with all my friends Almost time to be where I belong Chorus: One day it will make sense Why Avoda’s special Learning what it takes to be Avodians One day it will make sense Why Avoda’s special Starting to discover what To discover what it’s all about Verse 2: Finally, in bunk fourteen Leading camp, this is the dream Camp Avoda’s where I’m meant to be Before I know, its color war Days are numbered, wanting more Never want to leave this paradise

[Instrumental Chorus] OOOOOOH OOOOOOH OOOOOOH [Guitar Solo] [Verse 3] We got that dog in us Ever since the very start of this war. The score we ran it up Every single choice that you made was poor And the huskies knew that this team would go down in history The bandits can’t be thieves cause we stole all of the glory [Pre-Chorus] And tonight we’ll be in the lake and we’ll be singing OOOOOH [Instrumental Chorus] OOOOOOH OOOOOOH OOOOOOH

Chorus: Now I understand what Makes Avoda special Keeping spirit and traditions over time Now I understand what Makes this place so different Making memories and bonds Memories and bonds that never die Verse 3: Summer is coming to a close Camp flew by but now time slows Don’t know when I’ll see my friends again Trying to take it all in One last look at Tispaquin Why can’t moments like this last forever Chorus: Someday you will be here Last year at avoda Thinking where did all my time go at this place Someday you will be here Last year at avoda Wishing you could do it over Start everything over one more time

ALMA MATER [Verse 1] I came across, this piece of land I learned it’s values like the back of my hand I felt the grass beneath my feet Sat by the lake and it made me complete [Pre-Chorus] A simple place, why do I feel this way? I’m just a kid and I need something to keep me young They tell me that it doesn’t last to long I smile thinking that surely they must be wrong [Verse 2] I came across a certain friend I told him I’d be with him until the end This is the place we truly love This is the place that we always dream of [Pre-Chorus] A simple place, they’ll never understand. They don’t realize that it made me a man. They tell me I should be moving on We all know that they could not be more wrong

[Chorus] And if I could stay here with all my brothers Live the year like it was full of summers This can’t be the end of everything So why do I go Somewhere only I know? Somewhere only we know? [Pre-Chorus] A simple place just white and blue? This is the place where I truly grew They tell me what I’ve meant to them I smile realizing what I have become [Chorus] And if I could stay here with all my brothers Live the year like it was full of summers This isn’t the end of anything So why do we go? So why do we go? Ooh-aah, oh [Outro] This isn’t the end of anything So why do we go? This place is our real home Somewhere only we go Somewhere only we know

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

on their dry erase board on their door in the waiting room and give out prizes! So nice! So spirited and fun! Go Avoda!

I love Camp Avoda! I love the people, culture, lessons learned, friendships created, and our spirit and traditions. Thank you all for being part of our amazing community and all that YOU do to help make it what it is. There is such a great level of commitment and passion for this place. It takes a village for sure, and we have a great team, top to bottom. We had yet another special and memorable summer on the Shores of Tispaquin. Here are some excerpts from my own Blog July 26th from various experiences in a 48 hour period at camp (and out of camp) this summer. I hope that everyone has enriching experiences with Avoda and that we are a positive force in your lives! Story #1 There are so many amazing and dedicated people here at Camp Avoda. Our nurses not only work long days and nights and provide top notch medical attention for our kids, they also CARE about them. Their connection to the kids is heart-warming. Feeling sick? Come to the nurses for some TLC and healing. But then they make it fun too! They joke with the kids. They talk and listen. And then just yesterday I learned that Roberta, Crystal and Barbara post a daily riddle

Story #2 I was lucky enough to have my camp friends join me yesterday! They visited and while I was busy as usual, I was able to carve out time to catch up with them. In 1980 I met them both; Paul Simon was an older camper. He came into the Arts and Craft Shack (now the Wood Shop) while I was a 10 year old making something creative and he introduced himself. He helped me and just spent time with me. Having a friend at camp who was six feet tall when you are 10 years old means a lot. 44 years later we are still the best of friends. David Wertheim who is two years older than I am, also visited yesterday. We met as campers and became close friends as we were on staff together in the 80’s. After college we lived near each other, and we grew even closer. I was lucky enough to be the best man at his wedding, and similarly remain the best of friends today. They came to camp with treats for campers today and connected with staff, CIT’s and campers. I always joke that when I need a break from camp, I meet up with camp friends and talk about camp. But it was just enough to recharge my batteries. Story #3 Sadly, one of our oldest campers and his brother who is a staff member, lost their grandfather to leukemia last week. Our hearts go out to the family. We of course, let the boys

have the time off that they needed. Then Tuesday night the Bunk 14 campers got into several cars and camp vans and drove with several staff members to the Shiva. (We checked with the family first.) While we know that as parents of young campers, you want your sons to make connections, learn new skills and have fun. But the long-term connections and community that he will hopefully remain part of can truly be inspiring, supportive and always there for you. I know that the family was touched and this event has brought an already close knit group even closer. Story #4 Karma! Noah Mirucki came into the office yesterday and said his baseball went under one of the bunks. I am so handy (cue the sarcasm) that I went over to the bunk with my power screwdriver and attempted to unscrew the lattice so that we could either crawl under the bunk, or fish the ball out. The spiders scared us immediately. Then it was so far under (and dirty and scary!) that we decided to buy a new baseball. Moments later one of our neighbors from Gibbs Road came over to ask me for a few guys to help him put up his basketball hoop. He saw me with the power drill and inquired; I told him the story. We then sent two CIT’s to help him. When they returned to camp, they dropped off three brand new baseballs – from Bob, our neighbor who is a former baseball coach! Until Next Summer: Go Blue! Go White! Go Avoda!

ronni saltzman guttin A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Thankful: adjective 1. feeling or expressing gratitude; appreciative I am thankful for camp. Each summer seems like the best ever since I began my work at Camp Avoda. For some reason, this is the summer that was a turning point for me. Maybe it was when a young camper asked me when my Bunk 14 year was. Maybe it was when I overheard a senior camper say to his friend, “Let’s ask Ronni.” Maybe it was when I had a fundraising meeting scheduled for the same time as the Color War break and Ken said, “you have to be here.” We will figure it out. And we did. I am thankful to be included in this family. I appreciate the time spent with Avoda campers. I am grateful for all of my colleagues, the counselors and admin team, specialists and the kitchen staff who provide delicious meals, the nurses who keep us healthy, our maintenance and facility helpers, and everyone else is number 1! What else? The view from my office…sunlight twinkling on the water and the green fence in the foreground. The sounds of laughter around me as I walk through camp. Saturday morning bingo…who likes it better? Ken? Kids? The sight of the entire camp enjoying grill night while Leon works to secure the gigantic blow-up screen. Late nights in the office with my colleagues…my friends. Early morning hoops as seen from my bedroom window. Camp Bar Mitzvahs. Field Trips. Chanting. Color War Spirit. Late quiet nights with frogs croaking and kids sleeping. Breaks: not the kinds where you don’t work, the kind that start Desert War and Color War. Field Trips. And on and on until next season…..

GARY RABINOWITZ MESSAGE FROM THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

We can already feel the thunderous volume of angst filled New Englanders attempting to rationalize lighting the first pumpkin spice candles or the stampede to the nearest Dunks for a pumpkin infused latte. The autumnal roar is creeping closer, and unfortunately that means another summer on the shores of Tispaquin have come and gone. How have we danced through league play, the July 4th celebration, The Avoda Tournament, the trip to Fenway, Israel Day, Desert war, evening activities like Deadzone and Flagrush, special guests like Sung Beats and the Chaotic Wrestlers, and of course Color War? These are only a minimal amount of the highlights that dot the Avoda calendar, and each year we reach this juncture pondering….where did it all go? There are also the subtle moments that comprise the memories and forge the bonds that last a lifetime. These are genuinely the flashes of poetic illustriousness that fortify the friendships, and secure the reminiscence 10, 20 and 40 years down the road. The lake jump following a desert war/color war victory. Is there any example greater than this of unbridled joy? The introduction of new activities like floorball. Is there anything cooler than watching our campers jump in the deep end head first into a new game? The campers who expand their comfort zone and try something for the first time. Is there anything more gratifying than witnessing a camper try something new and realizing that they got this.

josh cohen PROGRAM DIRECTOR

100 ADMINISTRATION

The sounds of laughter and frolic echoing off the lake from a packed waterfront period. Is there anything more pure than the sounds of camper delight? The sincere inquiries of a bunk 1er regarding Dairy Queen or their lost sock? Is there anything more endearing than these questions that pepper our day? The initial bond of a bunk 14er and a freshman camper when introduced to their big/little brother? Is there anything more wistful than binding connection between these two age-gapped Avodians? The uncontrolled exuberance of a camper who just belted their first bunko. Is there any greater athletic feat known to mankind? So here we are. The cusp of the anticipatory 10 for 2 realm of our year. Once again, we must thank the best leadership team in the league. There are none better than Ken, Ronni, Leon, and Joco. Avoda is fortunate to have this crew lead us. Thanks to our staff and CIT’s who navigate the front lines of camp life on a daily basis and do it with grace, positivity and enthusiasm. And of course, thanks to our campers. They inject energy, joy and sincere innocence into our summers. Avoda. It is purely magical on endless levels. We will miss you. Until next summer. Go Avoda!

ERIC HERNANDEZ BUNK 3 JC, 2K2014, ROPES, WATERFRONT, HEAD OF TENNIS & PICKLEBALL, TENNIS TEAM COACH Another year in the books but this is a big one, joining both Staff and the Ten Year Club. This first year as a staff member has been so much more incredible than I first expected. I gained a whole new perspective on camp, especially being a Bunk 3 counselor, remembering when I was my campers’ age. I utilized past experiences, past counselors, training, lot, and Avoda spirit to make this a successful summer. I had a great time whether on the field, waterfront, lot, reffing, chopping, or rehanging the rope on the rock wall. I can’t wait to see what future years on staff may hold. 2k20: You’re the best group of guys I could ask for, thank you all for making it to this milestone with me. We’ve picked up many along the way and lost even more by now, so just appreciate the time we still have together and keep coming back. Cooper: Thank you for being a great co-counselor and friend this summer. You acclimated well to the Avoda lifestyle and I’m glad I got to experience my first summer on staff alongside you. Welcome to Avoda! Brett: I missed you at the beginning of the summer but you finally arrived and made this place an even better environment than it was. Keep coming back. You can’t spell Brett without T. Bunk 3: You boys made this a fun, exciting summer, and I am so thankful for that. Regardless of any ups and downs, we ultimately made it and had some good laughs along the way. I am so glad I could be one of your guys’ first counselors. My goal for all of you is to come back each new summer, excited to see each other and continue your journey to grow as Avodians. Thank you again, and I hope this summer was half as fun and memorable for you as it has been for me.

COOPER SOCK BUNK 3 JC, WATERFRONT STAFF This is my first year at Avoda and wow… What an amazing place. I spent my whole childhood at a different camp and had no clue what to expect when Ronni recruited me during the spring. When Reese told me about all the fun that goes on around camp whether at waterfront, on the field or in the lot I was excited but nervous to arrive at precamp. By the middle of my first day I could tell I was being welcomed into one of the strongest families ever at one of the best places on earth. Being welcomed into a community full of such deeply rooted tradition has been an honor and while these past few months have not gone without their faults, it is safe to say that I love camp Avoda. Israelis: for being such an energetic crowd and jumping at the chance to see Snoop with me. Bagels: for being a great Co-counselor and thanks for guiding me through my first summer. Itchy: Gotta make it back to system so we can acquire a little bit of chutzpah. Jacoby: Gotta pokemon go back to twin and make our money back. Mexico Machine Count: 233. Cam: Brett hit me . Bunk 3: The roster kept changing throughout the summer but regardless of who was in the bunk, we had fun. Of course there were ups and downs and meals with missing campers and brawls and dirty sheets and no 10’s and ants in beds and bugs sent to Mexico, but we had fun. 2k2014: Making me feel welcome throughout the summer and trying not to get lost in the woods during pre-camp. Camp Avoda: Hopefully I see you a lot more in the future.

CAM DELANEY BUNK 4 SC, 2K1914, ASST HEAD OF FISHING I’m glad I made the decision to come back another year as it’s definitely been one of my best. senior staff is great and i’m glad to have spent it with you all. Bunk 4: i know we had our ups and downs but it was great to be your counselor and i’m glad i had you guys my sc year. Jacoby: we’ve been through a lot but i’m glad i had you as my co and it was fun spending time with you cooper and bagels in the cabin. 2k19: i’m glad i got to spend another summer with you guys it means a lot the further along we get

MAX JACOBY BUNK 4 JC, 2K2014, HEAD OF ARCHERY, MOUNTAIN BIKING • ASST TENNIS COACH It’s Hard to believe that after almost a decade, 9 whole years spent on the shores of Lake Tispaquin I finally get the write a staff profile. My first summer on staff started off a little rocky. I arrived at camp just 5 days after foot surgery and had to use a knee scooter to get around for the first 3 weeks of camp. I have to say that I was a little nervous about how I would fit in with the staff but I have to say that the only thing that came out of my time on the scooter was a few nicknames including but not limited to Grandpa, HotWheels, and Ja-cripple. As my first year on staff comes to an end I have an entirely new perspective on what goes on behind the scenes at this place that I have called home for the last 9 years. As I came into this summer I was very unsure as to whether this would be my last year. I have gotta say they every time I drive back down 23 Gibbs Road I fall in love with this place all over again every year. I would like to give a shoutout to: 2k20: We did it. We are finally on staff and we are back with strong numbers. I could not be happier with the group of men that I get to call my brothers and I can’t wait to run it back with you all next year. Bunk 4: Boys, that’s a wrap. For most of you, it was your first summer here and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that you all belong here at Camp Avoda. It wasn’t always pretty and you boys definitely drove me crazy sometimes but I hope that you all keep coming back and growing closer as a 14 in the future. Cam: You were a fantastic co to have this year. Thanks for showing me the ropes on staff.

MAX LEAVITT BUNK 5A JC, 2K2014 While I didn’t really know what to expect coming into my JC year, I can confidently say my 11th summer has been my favorite so far. From the first day of pre camp until now, this summer has only been a blast and hopefully the end will be too. 2k20: After all this time, it’s crazy to finally see us all on staff, and I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with any other group of guys. From the beginning of pre camp, you all have made this summer amazing and I hope to see you all back next summer. Matti: Ma omer shavoor tachat. Thank you for being the best co I could ask for. Always leading in bunk cleanup, the meals, and at night, you always made everything easy. I hope to see you next summer, so you can be the first 3 year Israeli. MacGilpin: Glad I got to have one person from 20 as a co. Although you weren’t here for the whole summer, it was always a great time with you in and out of the bunk, and work on your lays. Bunk 5A: I don’t really know where to begin. All of you have made this summer so enjoyable for me. From the mafia games, to all of the DQ you’ve gotten, Dylan screaming, and all the bed forts, thank you for an amazing first year as a counselor. I look forward to seeing you all next year and how much you can grow in the years to come. Avoda: Never change!

RYAN WILKOV

BUNK 5B JC, 2K2014, AVODIAN STAFF • CAMP RABBI • ROPES STAFF • WATERFRONT STAFF • HEAD OF BLANK STARES I didn’t have the best time last year. In fact, it was entirely terrible. I kept trying and trying to convince myself that being a staff member would be worth it. I came into this year with all sorts of worries: about being in charge of campers, running activities, bonding with my fellow staff, and just being able to enjoy myself while working every day. However, I found my way through it all, and every day was something exciting, rewarding, sometimes emotionally taxing, and all the times very, very, eventful. My suppositions ended up being correct: it was totally worth it to come back to be on staff. That being said, this camp has simply given me so much that I couldn’t fathom how to give back to it, and I think I started off really well this year. I still have a lot more to give, and I’m afraid I have a lot more to still receive. I grew a ton as both a counselor and a person over the small span of two months— that’s just what this camp does to people— and at this rate I’m unsure how I’ll even get close to paying it forward. And I accept I might just not at this rate, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try my best in the meantime. For now, I just want to say, looking back on my time, that this summer has made everything worth it to me. I said it before and I’ll say it again, this place doesn’t change, and I think that’s for the best. I want to keep coming back and have the time of my life over and over like I did this year. And I know it’s just the start. Ido - Thank you so much for being reasonable with the campers in addition to being so supportive and caring. My impenetrable patience and clueless altruism got a little out of control sometimes, and if it weren’t for you, my job would have been so much more difficult. For two people completely new to Avoda staff, I say we totally crushed it. Take a victory snickers. Leavitt: By some foul trick of fate, we are brought together again for another year after PMM– and I couldn’t be happier. Precamp was much more bearable with two clueless losers, and we rocked every single long night. Thanks for holding down the fort when I had other things going on. LSL and Davis both totally whip. I trust you with my life. But please stop bragging about your campers. 2k20 - I love you all, I got so much closer with you all this year. Keep in touch! We gotta run it back, and spend some more time together. We’ll run this camp next year; this camp hasn’t seen the last of us yet. Bunk 5B - Mushie, Mengo, Mello, Micah, Mendoza, Matthew, Mitchell, Mirucki, Makhno, obM, and the rest of the Meme Team: I was a mix of excited and terrified when I read your names on those green laundry bags at the beginning of the year, but you guys have been the absolute best, even with a few incidents and a prodigious amount of general tomfoolery. I’m glad you guys were able to endure my stupid humor and me making a fool of myself and putting myself out there. I really enjoyed spending time with you all and learning all about what makes this camp enjoyable from your perspective. Enjoy the mustard. Bennett: You probably won’t read this, but you made the right choice, and so did I. See you next summer. IDO BEN ITZHAK BUNK 5B SC Camp Avoda: When I signed with the Jewish Agency I thought I was going to get a simple jewish camp with boys and girls. Then Ronni reached out to me and interviewed me for a Jewish boys camp. At first I was scared because I wanted a camp with both genders and thought my summer was ruined. I wouldn’t realise until after a long thought that coming here was gonna be the best decision I ever made. After serving three years in the IDF I came here to my dream camp as a kid: the competitiveness and the brotherhood of this camp is one of the most heartwarming and athletic camps I ever experienced. If I would’ve heard of Camp Avoda a few years ago I would’ve come here as a camper. Ryan: My dear Co, it was an interesting time with you, first, you were so quiet I thought I was going to manage the bunk myself, but I got a cooperative and supportive co-counsellor. You’re funny, and all the time you have all the best ideas for the campers to have a wonderful time. Bunk 5B: The biggest bunk of the summer: Mitchell, Seth, Jeremy, Ronen, Max Ellison, Max English, Rio, David, Micah, Matthew, Dylan, Ariel, Noah, Ethan Marcus, Ethan Musheyev. We had our ups and downs but I couldn’t ask for a better bunk for the summer. Each and everyone of you brought a different colour to our family. I’m going to miss you very much and all the fun times we had. I hope you’ll find my number and talk with me whenever you need. Love you my boys!

DREW BUSNY BUNK 6A JC, 2K2014, DW ASST HEAD JUDGE, 3RD LT BLUE BANDITS

There is no truer saying then that Camp Avoda is heaven on earth. For more than half my life Avoda has been my summer. I know nothing else during these month and I could not be more grateful for that. This is far better than sitting on my couch at home. Finally, after nine years, I finally get to experience staff, something I never imagined would happen as a camper. And it was a dream. Avoda is definitely for staff. Cole: 5, being in the same cabin could not have been a better parting gift. With us on our way to college being right next to you for 2 month really helped ease the pain. Sucks that were splitting up but I know you are going to do great on your own. Love you. Sawyer: Everyone loves you here. When we’re walking around every single person yells your name. Sorry you could not come back but I know you had an amazing summer. Hopefully I can watch you on the football field this fall. Go Mules! Jason: When I arrived for pre-camp and heard you were my co I almost fainted. I am defiantly the alpha counselor but you brought me down to reality when I went over the top. Would not have wanted anyone else to be with this summer. Plotty: By far the funniest man I know. There is never a time I am not smiling when you’re around. Sammy: 3 day camper. - amazing that you came back and were not dumb like Harry. I’ll try and visit you in DC soon. Harry: Dude, where are you. You better be back next year. Gilly: CHIPS AHOY A! You suck for not staying but when you were here you were the life of the party. Blue Bandits: Max, Nate, Asher, Jason, Griff - I’m so hype for this week. We’ve put in so much time and effort to prepare I just know we’ll be in the lake by the end of the week. Oompa Loompas: Smoothest Desert War ever. Nate, Max: Thanks for teaching me everything I wanted to know this year. It was a privilege to be with both of you for Desert and Color war. Your both great mentors and Max you were a great big. Hopefully I see you next year. Ethan,Danny: Even though you both do nothing here, the few days you were here, acting as if you were working, were fun. Thanks for all the fun memories and laughs. More BFF meetings soon. Alex, Carlos, Max: Cute staff!!! Thanks for accepting my weirdness. Needham sucks. Leon: Go with the flow :) Bunk 6A: You guys barely listen but you understand what Avoda means and that’s most important. Keep coming back for full summers.

Going into this summer, I never would’ve thought that it would end up being this much fun. The bonds that have been made will be with my for my entire life. However, this summer is definitely not my last here and this is just the start of my time on staff. They say being on staff is when camp really starts, and I can guarantee that this statement is true. Danny: A true Avodian, nothings a better feeling then watching you dominate here and always doing it with a smile on your face. Drew: The best co I could’ve wished for, thanks for keeping the kids so calm and lets finish the summer the right way, in the lake. Cole: this place wouldn’t be the same without you, always pushing each other to be better. Go muck barnis bin. Plotty: Happy to call the ugliest kid in camp my best friend. Your hairline is always giving me a jump scare. Lets get in the lake together next year. Sammy: Even though you have been here for 19 days and counting, it feels like you’ve been apart of my Avoda journey start to end. Please come back next year we will run it. Spit bro for life, crazy 2 man coming soon. Gilly: gimme them yiddies, I’m never paying your boy. COLE BUSNY BUNK 6B JC, 2K2014 It’s truly an awful feeling sitting here wondering if this summer is going to be my last. It’s an even worse feeling sitting here and picturing myself at a desk all day, unable to mess around with my best friends in the world under the Avoda sunshine. It’s hard to imagine that 11 years ago I arrived on the shores of Tispaquin as an immature 8 year old with pretty bad anger issues ready for my first summer. Little did I know then that I would learn to love this place. As the time flew by I’ve seen myself not only grow as a person but also as a leader. I’ve learned that a summer without Avoda isn’t a summer at all. Drew: It’s wild to think about how fast these years have gone. It’s hard to comprehend that soon, after spending 18 years side by side, we’ll be away from one another. I’ll always remember the memories we’ve shared here. From throwing up after Bubba fed us DQ and Popcorn to being on staff together, we’ve always had a time. I know you’re gonna kill it at school next year and I can’t wait to go against you for what could be one last dance. Love you buddy. Jason: My boy where can I start. I feel like we’ve gone through everything together at this place even though you seem to win everything. I’m so happy we got to be in the same cabin this year and I’ll never forget our goofy days off at your house. Please take some time at school to learn the 7 continents. Plotty: Easily the funniest person I’ve ever met but also the weirdest MF in the world. From 6B when you pulled my towel to now you’ve always been my boy its gonna be a long 10 months without you. Love ya brother don’t ever change. Crazy that you’ve gotten uglier ever year goddam. Sammy: Even though it seems like you just got here yesterday it feels like we’ve been friends for years. I’m gonna miss the laughs we’ve shared this year and the boolage let’s run it back at UmD this year. Harry: Should’ve came back. Gilly: I hate you. Brett: It’s truly been a pleasure to be your co this year. Even though the kids drove us crazy we held down the fort and I think we did a great job dealing with these little bums. Gonna miss ya buddy. 6B: We had our good moments and our bad moments but as a whole I’ve loved being your counselor even if it didn’t always show. You guys have a bright future ahead of you guys keep coming back. Georgy: Learn to listen please. You’re the boy tho. 2k20: Best 14 in Avoda history I’ve loved getting closer to all you fellas throughout the years lets keep coming back as long as we can. BRETT ITCHKOW BUNK 6B JC, 2K2014 Oh my. Bunk 2 me would have never even dreamed of sitting here writing a staff profile. I always heard the announcements at lunch and it always seemed so foreign. But now, here I am, writing a staff profile. Even more insane to me is that while it’s my first year on staff, I can only pray that it won’t be my last. Camp Avoda has given more to me than I could ever begin to describe or even quantify. To any campers reading this, you’ve heard it a million times but there’s a reason for that— keep coming back to this place. There’s nothing not to love here. The waterfront, the sports, the staff, the campers, the brothers. 9 years ago, spending my first time away from home and writing letters like “BRING ME HOME NOW” and “I’VE LOST EVERYTHING” I had no idea that this place would be the one place where I can be the most real version of myself, where I never want to leave. One of my first counselors Jake Alexander imparted on our bunk “it’s party time, always” and I wish to pass the same message on to future avodians. Listen to Leon when he tells you to “go with the flow”. It’s a good strategy. 2k20: I love you guys. There’s not much more to say. Someone I admire very much once told me that you know you have real, deep emotion about something when it’s nearly impossible to put into words. That is how I feel about you guys. We gotta link this off season but I’ll see you next summer (hopefully). The rest of y’all that didn’t come back: you made the wrong choice. Bagels: Without question you are the closest thing I have to a brother. You have always been there for me, every time of year. It was my pleasure to be JC co lot rep with you. We’ll bring it into SC territory next year. Keep on keepin’ on. Run it up at Colby. Drew & Jason: Our cabin was definitely a unique one. Can’t wait to run back the Sophomore overnight without the campers. Cole: You were an awesome Co. We had a special bunk but we got through it together. Colgate is in my home state. Let’s try to get together. Ido, Idan, Matti, Alon, Aviel: By far the best group we’ve had here. I’m so thankful I got to be on staff with you. Snoop and Wiz was incredible but so was all the time we’d spent on the waterfront and during EAs and reffing. You guys really are special and I hope I’ll be able to visit you in Israel one day. Please remember to make laws and fish in your meetings- it’s important. Cooper: Live your life with Nachas, Chutzpah, Emunah, Chesed, Mazel, and Lichtig but not too much of any of them. Also Cam knows you hit first. 6B: You guys were awesome. You were my first bunk as a counselor and I missed all the pre-camp “how to deal with campers” sessions but you still made it an awesome summer. It would behoove you all to become better listeners but to take the advice you’re given even if it is at the expense of your pride. If you think admitting fault will make someone lose respect for you, maintaining a lie to keep up appearances might be the worst thing you can do. Be yourself and be honest. None of us have a legacy. Live in the now, don’t do things because you think people in the future will remember you for it. Do things because you believe in them at that moment.

GRIFFIN BLOOMSTEIN BUNK 7 JC, 2K2014, 5TH LT BLUE BANDITS JR HOOPS COACH After being a C.I.T. last year and having my favorite summer yet, I knew that I wanted to be back and be on staff. I can’t believe that it’s already color war and I’m writing my first staff profile which means the summer is almost over. My sixth summer was a wild one and I’m so glad to have been back for it. This staff was amazing and learning the ways of being a counselor and having endless amounts of fun is something I’ll be able to cherish forever. 2k20: I’m so glad we got a lot of us to come back, we really balled out this summer and I know we’re gonna run it back next summer as well. It’s weird to not be living together but I still feel like we’ve come closer this summer. Bunk 7: You guys were a really special group to be a counselor of, I’m glad I was able to share this experience with you and I can’t wait to watch you guys grow and become the oldest and most mature campers. Idan: I had a blast being your co this summer, and I’m glad that you showed me a different perspective of the world. I hope you find your path in the holy land and do big things. Blue Bandits: As I’m writing this I don’t know who’s on our team, but I know we’ve been putting in so much work to make this team the best it can possibly be. The job isn’t done and the hardest work is yet to come. Jason and Drew: It’s awesome that the three of us are going to be on the same CW team as JCs, that’s unheard of. Let’s go make history! Nate and Max: Thanks for being great leaders on staff and in CW, I learned a lot about what it takes to be a coach, leader and mentor, there’s nobody I’d rather learn the ropes from than you. Chuck: Thanks for being a dope big, and an awesome co-coach. It sucks we couldn’t be together for CDubs but I know it’s going to be an amazing week long battle. JHoops really balled out, sucks we couldn’t end the drought. Gilly: Why didn’t you stay, thanks though….Campers: This place is special, please enjoy it and come back. “I’m the definition of a bandit”

SAMMY SCHREIBER BUNK 8 JC, 2K2014, 2ND LT GOLDEN KNIGHTS This summer has been absolutely amazing and I could not have been happier to be back as a JC this year. Camp quickly became my favorite place on earth and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to come for the past four years. Camp is where I’m the happiest, as it is the most stress free, and fun filled place on earth. Nowhere else do I say, “That was the best day ever,” or “I just had the greatest day of all time,” six days a week. I am endlessly thankful for the friendships I made and the relationships I built during my time here. Camp is so wonderfully unique, there truly is no place like Camp Avoda. 2K20: You boys are my brothers. I could not have asked to be a part of a better 14. You guys are my boys for life. Bunk 8: It was so awesome being able to spend my first year as a counselor with you guys. You for sure did not make it easy but we still had a great time together. I hope all of you come back until you’re on staff to help keep Avoda alive. Cole: Im so happy to have grown up with you at camp. You’re the boy for life. Go muck Barni! Jason: You make camp so much more fun and I cannot imagine coming back without you. Spit bro for life, 2 man OTW. Plotty: You’re the funniest person I have ever met. Hope to see you winning at camp in the years to come. Keep grinding, ugly. Drew: Your vibe is always great and being at camp with you is so fun. Good luck being the 3lt this year. Gilly: You should have stayed full this year, camp was not the same with out you. Gimmie them yitties! Dot dots: Chips ahoy, when the lights go out, pepper, barni, muck barn, gimmie them yitties

SIMON BAZELON BUNK 10 SC, 1ST LT, WHITE BLITZ. HEAD JUDGE, SAT KNIGHTS, SR SOCCER COACH, HEAD OF OFF PERIODS I guess it’s that time of year again. It feels weird writing this. Mostly because this is the first time I’ve ever ended a summer at Avoda knowing that I wouldn’t be back the next year. It’s a strange feeling. This place has been such a constant presence in my life. I’ve grown up with it, and it’s shaped me in so many ways. That’s not to say that I’ll never be back. I’ll visit next year, of course, and down the line, I could even see myself pulling an Entner, and coming back again. But next summer I won’t be here, and after 12 summers here – more than half my life – that feels weird to put in writing. I also feel weird writing this because as I’ve gotten older, my relationship to this place has changed. I was once a bright-eyed little kid in bunk 1, awestruck by the magic of a place that let you play sports all day with your friends. And then I was an older camper, and then a younger staff member, getting to know the other parts of camp, and loving those too. But somewhere between Bunk 1 and today, I began to recognize Avoda’s flaws, as well as its strengths. I began to see that not every single thing I’ve gotten from here has been good. And the magic faded, maybe just a little. But this summer, the magic was in many ways replaced by something deeper – something more real, more substantive. Even as I saw Avoda’s flaws, I gained a deeper appreciation for what makes this place so wonderful and so beautiful. I realized how fun it can be to do a really good job at being a counselor, realized that maybe the things I cared most about in Bunk 1 – playing sports, feeling the sun on your shoulders, running into the lake, and spending time with good people – were the right things to care about all along. So if this is my last summer, then I think I’m ok with that. It’s been a great ride. I just wish that I could do it all over again. And with that, on to some appreciation: Bunk 10: Coming into the summer, I was hoping to be in a senior bunk. Instead, I got Year 2 with you guys. And you know what? It was great. You guys are hilarious, I love all of you even when you drive me insane, and I’ve had a great time as your counselor. You’re all going to be great Avodians. And who knows – maybe I’ll even come back as your 14 counselor… Reese: Thanks for being a great co. Also, you might be the single most competent staff member I’ve ever seen at this camp. Glad to have you as a member of 2k18. Adin: You know I love you buddy, but it doesn’t hurt to say it again. Hope you have a great offseason. Thanks for being my co this year. Artie: I missed you this summer dude. I hope you’re doing well. I’m always here if you need anything. Asher: luv u bb. Chuck: We’ve gotten close these last two summers, and I’m really grateful for it. Loved doing DW with you. Have a great time at Indiana. Ezra Ardizzone: Stay coordinated my guy. Theta: Was a blast coaching you guys. If we don’t win I’ll be pissed. Gessman, your ankle is fine. Stop complaining. Senior Soccer: I had such a good time coaching you guys this summer. I’m really sorry I wasn’t there on Tourney day. We didn’t get the result we wanted, but I loved watching you all get better as the summer went on. Team Avoda’s future is bright – we’ll be back on top soon enough. Blitz: Absolutely clinical. I knew we had the team from the beginning, and I’m so proud of the way you guys went out and executed. That lake jump was so, so sweet. Jordan Hass, great job making it to breakfast the next day. Saturday Knights: Huuuuuge week ahead. We’re going to win every single period, and more importantly, we’re going to have a great time doing it. 2K18: I’m so glad there were so many of us back this summer. I love you guys. Ken: Thanks for being so understanding this summer. I really appreciate all the work you do. This profile is way too long, so I’ll have to end it here. But first, one last thing: Avoda: Thank you for everything you’ve given me. It’s been the 12 best summers of my life. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I’ll miss you.

BUNK 10 SC, 2K1814 HEAD OF AVODIAN, SR SOFTBALL COACH, HEAD JUDGE GATOR TAIL, STAFF LIZ AND LOT REP Wow, this summer has gone by way too fast. Looking back to my first year here I genuinely did not expect such a lifetime home with lifelong friendships. After 8 years here, my first summer in 2015 seems like yesterday, and now I could be looking at my last summer at this unreal place (hope it’s not). These 2 months every year hold some of the strongest memories and best experiences I have encountered throughout my life so far, and I wouldn’t want to have spent them anywhere else. 2k1814: We still run this camp. I was hyped to see so many of my day one brothers back for another summer. Even though we had a few rotten boys who didn’t come back, we held it down. Hope to see all of you hack next summer and get ready for Israel. Bunk 10: It was great to have you guys this summer, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. We definitely had our ups and downs but overall we made this summer great. Hope to see all of you next summer and hopefully even on staff one day. 2k19: Your 14 is rotten. 3 deep is not acceptable. 2k20: Hope you boys enjoyed your first year on staff, come back next summer. BUNK 14 SC, 2K1814, EQUIPMENT MANAGER, ROPES STAFF, EA STAFF, RAINY DAY STAFF, CO-HEAD WRESTLING COACH, CO-HEAD OF TRIPS, CO-HEAD OF GUY STAFF, 1ST LT. BLUE APOCALYPSE, 2ND LT. ON WHITE HUSKIES As my 12th summer comes to an end I would like to thank everyone that helped my this summer, the best summer at Camp Avoda. It is hard to believe that I am a 14 counselor, something I’ve dreamed of being since my first year at camp. It’s an incredible honor and something I would do a million times over. Although different, I had one of my best summers here with an incredible staff. I’m not too sure how much longer I have left here but I’m hopeful this summer is not my last. Shoutouts: Owen/Burger/Nate: I was so excited going into this summer with a stacked group of counselors like ourselves. This summer has been amazing all the way through and I’m so happy I got to spend it with you guys. Talking to guy, being in the liz or lot, dunks runs, dj sets, whatever it was we did, I had a great time doing it with you guys. Max, I am very excited to live with you this year. Owen and Nate, you better visit us. And you all better be back next summer. 2k1814: It’s so incredible that as 2 year SCs we still have the largest and best age group on staff. We still have an incredible squad. So glad I got to spend another summer with y’all. Let’s run it back next year. Sawyer, Bebe, and Bass are rotten. 2k2214: It was an absolute pleasure being yall’s 12 and 14 counselor. These past 2 years have truly been amazing and I have yall to thank for it. I hope y’all enjoyed this summer and enjoyed having me as a counselor. My goal is to come back next year and i’m hoping most of you guys do too. Remeber that while the offseason may be fun, there is truly no place like Avoda and that will never change no matter what position you hold in camp. Danny/Ethan: Glad to see you guys back for another last summer at camp. I’m happy I got to see you half the week even though it was supposed to be two days a week. Despite what you say I know you’ll both be back next year on some level. Thank you to all of Staff for making this summer amazing.
