Mental Health Month

Did you know Mental Health Month is celebrated each year in NSW in the month of October?

Taking care of our mental health and wellbeing is important for everyone, regardless of whether we have experienced mental illness or not.

It's great that this month encourages us to understand the importance of good mental health in our everyday lives and promotes help-seeking behaviours when needed.

Office Hours

Monday to Friday 9:30am - 3:00pm.

We can all play a role in breaking down mental health stigma, whether it's by supporting a colleague, running a community event, or educating ourselves about the importance of mental health language.

Together, we can create a safe place for those living with, supporting others, and receiving mental health support.

It also struck me how the last 12 months have flown by but that’s another story.

We have been quite busy, and happy to report that student numbers are up by 30% on the previous year. Our courses have proven to be popular among all demographics, which is excellent news. I am particularly proud of the volume of vocational training we have been able to provide. Our specialisation in aged and

Leo is five, definitely not our usual college demographic, but mum Melanie is one of our students studying towards achieving a CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support. As a mother of six children under 13 with Leo the youngest, it was always going to be a juggling act for Melanie to study. But she had a hankering for knowledge, wanted to pursue a role in the aged care and/or disability sector, and was determined to make it work. Her kids were all on board and super supportive, but Leo, has his own challenges, and didn’t understand why he was going to preschool each day.

All that changed when our trainer, George,

Using seasonal Asian vegetables from her organic farm, Tin will work with you to cook and create a medley of delicious Asian and Middle Eastern dishes. Visual Journaling offers the opportunity to explore your inner and outer life through both creative writing and art making. In a safe and nurturing environment Penelope will gently and respectfully guide you through a series of self-reflective activities, giving you the opportunity to authentically gain personal insight and develop realistic and life-affirming future hopes and dreams. Participants with all levels of art making and writing experience are welcome. All art materials will be supplied, including your own personal visual art diary so that you are able to continue the visual journaling process following on from this course. You’re most welcome to bring along your own favourite art materials. Morning tea provided.
