Intaglio printing means printing ink from the incis marks in a plate or matrix. This is a course for beginning students seeking thorough exposure to intaglio printmaking without any of the nasty chemicals. We will g special attention to a broad array of intaglio applications: dr found objects, collage, and monoprint techniques. Practice one of the most instantly-rewarding forms Using the uid and luminous medium of watercolor, printmaking: monotypes! The first session will featu students will explore abstract and experimental reduction monotypes, the use of monotype base, painting with creative exercises. The instructor will watercolor and water-soluble crayons, and the qualities of var introduce contemporary watercolor artists and discuss their printmaking techniques. Students will have a chance to work on their own projects papers. In the second session, we will experiment wit stencils, masks, and trace transfer monotypes. You can combine in a supportive environment using experimental approaches to these methods and others to create unique prints, employing mu painting.
