Film lovers rejoiced in viewing the premiere of Denzel Washington’s new movie, The Equalizer, as part of the inaugural Calabasas Film Festival from Sept. 12-14. With the mayor’s support, the CFF hopes to provide a top-quality venue for the community to celebrate its established roots in the film and television industry while also striving to connect with everyone who shares a passion for the arts. CFF patrons and sponsors had nothing but enthusiastic reviews about the event. Festival supporter Kit Gilbert of Jessup Cellars Winery said, “It was such a true pleasure to be a part of this exciting event. That we were all witnessing the start of something very powerful was quite evident.” Calabasas Mayor David Shapiro responded, “Thanks so very much. As indicated, the wine was a perfect way to celebrate the success of the opening night…Raising a class to next year’s CFF.” Festival Director Kelley Fries is excited to expand the festival with more films and programs in the years ahead.
