Julie has given back to the Viewpoint community by producing, directing and styling the school’s fashion show fundraiser for the past three years. The first year, the show at Sherwood Country Club featured clothes from Nicole Miller and professional models. The second and third years that Julie produced the show, she coordinated fashions from M.Fredric and Australian athletic wear designer Lorna Jane, casting Viewpoint moms on the runway. The stylist found her fashion calling at a young age. At just 12, the Brentwood native recalls, “I had shopped at every children’s boutique between Beverly Hills to Santa Monica in search of the perfect Bat Mitzvah dress. When I couldn’t find anything I loved, my very stylish mom took me to pick out a gorgeous fabric and I designed a dress which was then custom made. It was a blush color with sheer sleeves, fully back in fashion today!” During her tenth-grade year at Windward School, a college counselor suggested Julie study fashion design in Paris after graduation. It was a life-changing moment for this talented teen who went on to spend an exciting year in the world’s fashion capital before returning to earn a B.A. in fashion merchandising and design from the American College in Westwood. For years, Julie Waldorf has held a well-deserved reputation as the go-to stylist for celebrity clients and media, working on numerous television shows, commercials and editorials, from E! Entertainment and FOX Networks to Vogue, GQ and PEOPLE Magazine. Julie has styled for the Oscars and has worked with legendary fashion photographers, including Nigel Parry and Herb Ritts. She brings her fashion savvy closer to home with her Fashion Trend Report for Calabasas Style magazine.” It’s been an exciting career with so many entertaining memories. There was never a career plan B,” adds the renowned stylist. Julie continues to bring her personal style and exceptional taste to her many clients, curating wardrobes that are sophisticated and distinctive, yet always reflective of each client’s personal style. Sought after for her expertise, she is frequently retained by leading law firms, including Wasser, Cooperman & Carter and O’Melveny & Myers, providing testimony for high-profile child support cases, where Julie determines the appropriate clothing budget for a child of a highincome family. Where does the fashionable family shop close to home? Julie says she loves Intermix in Westlake and Lululemon and the Beauty Collection in The Commons. “I love to shop at M.Fredric with my kids. There’s something for all of us, and we always have fun!” n Kids clothing from M.Fredric. Julie’s top by Rebecca Taylor, skirt by Alice + Olivia, shoes by rag and bone, jewelry from Intermix.
