What’s a human? We are, at our core, social mammals. We build relation ships, communicate, reproduce, estab lish territories, and adapt to shrinking resources. In these ways, we’re no different than other social mammals. Chimpanzees, wolves, and gorillas are among the most charismatic of the mammals we know. We identify with them as species, groups, and even as named individuals. They’re also under threat. His most recent projects include creating a dance theatre piece about the Scottish bard Robert Burns, lip-synching the protagonist in a documentary, directing a podcast series, playing a gangster opposite Liam Neeson, curating a cabaret festival in Australia and recording a duet with a Gaelic rapper. Perhaps not surprisingly, Time Magazine called him one of the three most fun people in show business (the others were Cher and Stanley Tucci!) A quarter of a century ago he was a sensation as Cabaret’s Master of Ceremonies, which garnered him a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He is also the author of six books including a New York Times #1 bestselling memoir. Reading Charles Darwin’s book “The Expression of Emotions on Man and Animals” revealed to her that the continuity between human and animals can also be detected in the expression of emotions. Isabella explores how empathy, that is at the base of acting, is also necessary for the studies of animal behavior. The show is both a lesson on evolution and acting. In her usual comical tones, she demonstrates how acting could be used to understand the mysterious nature of animals and their emotions. Sundays): Noon until 30 minutes past curtain time Free parking is available for five minutes outside the Ticket Office window on Grand Avenue. A campus parking permit is required for stays longer than five minutes.

The Cal Poly Ticket Office, calpolyarts.org, and pacslo.org are the only official ticketing sources for our events. If patrons buy from an outside vendor, they will likely pay inflated ticket prices, potentially have invalid tickets that will not be honored at the venue, and will not have access to Ticket Office assistance because there will be no record of the transaction. Discounted student prices ranging from $10 - $25 are available for most performances!

Renewing Subscribers: Place your order by July 29, 2022 to guarantee seating priority. Individual show tickets are available for sale to the general public Aug. 8, 2022. Orders received with less than four season shows listed will be processed as individual show ticket orders at that time. Parking in the Grand Avenue structure is included in your ticket price. Enjoy our “out-the-door” prices, which include all handling and facility fees.

Seating: Seat location is determined by the Cal Poly Ticket Office on a best-seatsavailable basis. When filling your order, the Ticket Office may change the location of your seats without notice to a less expensive section if your requested section of the auditorium is unavailable; your account will be credited accordingly. In the unlikely event that your requested section is sold out, please indicate your alternate seating preference or special needs in the Notes section at left.

Orders contingent on specific seating will not be accepted. The Ticket Office will attempt to accommodate any special seating needs or preferences you may have, such as the right or left side of the auditorium, aisle seating, other subscribers with whom you wish to sit, wheelchair seating or access to sign language interpreting. Signed interpretation must be arranged at least two weeks in advance.

Tickets can be purchased from the Box Office with ANY valid student ID from San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara Counties. Check out the specific event page on calpolyarts.org to find out if student pricing is available
