Becca Zieglar Junior "Apparel has always been a strong passion of mine that I love getting to be creative and innovative with. As a designer, I am very inspired by experiences that I am a part of and what I am around in my life, whether this is nature, art, or events. I put the emotion of these experiences into my designs as a way to communicate through clothing. My goal is always to use this communication to empower the wearer of my designs to have emboldened confidence and inspire them further to pursue the discovery of their own personal style."

Jane Poniewaz Junior "I haven’t been sewing for very long, but I really enjoy trying new designs and making things that I couldn’t find in any other store.

I experiment with both commercial patterns and my own designs, and I enjoy upcycling thrifted finds as well."

Danielle Grassman Junior "I'm double majoring in Apparel Design and Merchandising Management. I created one upcycled piece out of reusable Lululemon bags. I was inspired to make a pair of mens shorts out of these bags after designing a Lululemon bucket hat last year. My model will be wearing the shorts and the bucket hat. I also designed two little black dresses, which are a pair. They include tulle bows, ruffles, and rhinestones. I felt motivated to make them somewhat extravagant and feminine because I normally design more practical apparel."

Iselda Lopez Junior "I always find myself being inspired by nature. I love the organic flow and symmetry of it. These garments weren’t really a collection but I wanted to take the chance ands still show a few things. The dress was made entirely out of recycled materials.

The actual design of the dress itself is very simple but still suitable for any summer occasion.The main fabric is from an old bed sheet that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. The ruffles around the bottom hem are from the elasticized part of the sheets after taking the elastic out. I also reused the elastic to make a matching scrunchie. The jacket was inspired by blazers but I added a bit of a more relaxed and oversized fit to it. The tweed fabric adds a more formal touch to it but can just as easily be worn down."

Mara Tsujimura Junior "Mara Tsujimura is a 3rd year majoring in apparel design at Oregon State University. Her garments are inspired by underground traditional streetwear with an element of East Asian fashion through the use of upcycling clothes. This short collection was also influenced by utilitarian streetwear, which can be seen through the use of parachute cords and buckles.

Her favorite look out of all the pieces are not the pieces itself, but the the unique red headset that she made herself from a 3D metal model to make a statement that accessories can also bring clothes to life."

Elias Cuyler Junior "IAt my core, I am interested in designing outdoor gear. Growing up in Oregon, the luxury of being able to participate in outdoor adventures has been plentiful, and although I have a desire to pursue a career in the outdoor industry, I wanted to use this collection to help practice my sewing skills, and create a collection that is more conceptual. Over this past year, I have been honing my sewing skills. As a designer, I take a lot of inspiration from worn objects and fabrics. Showcasing the way that a garment has been aged and worn is what drove this entire collection. The use of these textiles in this collection was heavily inspired by the way that they have been aged. Once used for seeds, flour, and sugar, these cotton sacks have been around for many decades. The Title of this collection is “VERMONT”, which is named after my family’s farm out east. The farm is beautiful and incredibly old, just like these textiles. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy."

Amanda Corrillo Senior "As a designer, I aim to emphasize a garment's simplicity and features while adding depth with designs and colors. Karlie Bunting Junior "As a designer, I'm inspired by the extravagant and the special.

I've always been interested in designing the kinds of dresses that you only wear once. For my design for the show, I wanted to go in a different direction and make something with a longer life. I used the fabric from the sheets that I had on my bed in the dorms, that no longer fit a bed that I own, and I gave them a second life in the form of a sun dress. Although my year sleeping on these sheets in the dorm got cut short, wearing this dress will remind me of how far I've come since then."

Lauren Brougher Junior "This faux fur coat was inspired by women's 1950s mink jackets, which were once considered a status symbol in America. I used $5 polyester-based fur found at Goodwill to create this coat."

Lily Kastens Junior "I am a rather new designer and I have just learned how to sew and pattern make. Right now I am trying to find the style that best suits me and how I can use that for the rest of my career.

The best way for me to learn and gain experience is to live a little outside of my comfort zone and that is exactly what I am doing in this show. Things that inspire me the most are: Lady Gaga, anime, drag, films, and art"

Joseph Arvizu Junior "I had been wanting to work on looks that included a variation of the poncho with current fashion trends. This is the first one that I was able to create. I liked the research I did on traditional ponchos and adapted them to my vision of the outfit along with insperation from the U.S. and Japan fashion scene."

Lyric Emmons Sophomore "Hello! My name is Lyric Emmons and I’m a second year student studying apparel design. My designs for this show were inspired by the colors and blooms of springtime, and include vibrant hues and flares. They were created using a blend of secondhand materials, sourced from old goods. I had fun along the process of designing and creating these pieces, and hope you enjoy!"

Connor Riedl Senior "The garments I have are a part of my layering system I’m creating for my final project. The first outfit consist of a polarTec fleece sweatshirt and sweatpants with patch pockets, cord lock adjustments and a silk lined hood. The second outfit is a quarter-zip parka with deep slurs on the side for optional ventilation when opened and a kangaroo pocket on the front.

This parka layers on top of the sweatshirt to create a system that keeps you warm and comfortable in different weather conditions. These pieces would work best for camping because of their durable and comfortable design."

Ka'elo Lindsey Senior "About Me: My name is Ka’elo Lindsey: I design to positively impact the world around me. I believe that design should be... functional/purposeful/sustainable Why? This collection showcases who I am as an individual and as a designer: A contemporary take on timeless essential garments that embraces minimalism and functionalism. Simplicity has been the driving factor for this collection, reflected in the monochromatic color palate and classic silhouettes Challenges: Depression: stops you from doing the things you love, it taxes all of your time, and makes you feel less than.

Designing this collection has helped me work through my depression, and allowed me to express myself in the best ways I know how.

Reegan DeJong Sophomore "Hi, I'm Reegan DeJong and I'm a first-year majoring in PreApparel Design. I was born and raised here in Corvallis and have loved sewing since my first taste in a home ec class. I recently have been obsessed with the color cornflower blue but my true inspiration has been my models' unique personalities. I wanted to create two looks that can stand on their own but also be tied together through their natural elements and contrasting styles.

I've had so much fun learning more about the garment-making process through creating these designs and I can't wait for you to see them."

Ryan Nelson Senior "Hi! My name is Ryan Nelson, and I am excited to be graduating from OSU this Spring with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Apparel Design. This original collection of outfits I've created was inspired by popular trends in women's fashion throughout the 1930s. While studying the history of contemporary fashion in my courses here at OSU, I drafted a few outfits that took inspiration from some of my favorite looks by Madeleine Vionnet and Elsa Schiaparelli, while also adding stylistic elements of my own.

Some of the notable trends visible in my garments include the use of bias-cut fabrics, high-waisted trousers, and godets; on top of these details, I also sought to express the inventiveness seen throughout women's designs in the '30s, as social movements promoting women's rights and liberation became widespread throughout the US. While this decade is primarily marked by the Great Depression, women's clothing throughout the era saw wonderfully extravagant gowns and tailored garments made with luxurious drape, and comfortable, feminine styles that sought to flatter the wearer's form. With these characteristics in mind, I created this historically inspired line with the intent to empower the women of today, and I sincerely hope you enjoy viewing the looks on the runway! Sophia Williams Freshman "My name is Sophia Williams. I am originally from Tacoma, Washington. I am a freshman here at OSU studying apparel design. I have always been interested in apparel design, from making doll clothes to upcycling thrifted items to creating my designs. I am very excited to have this opportunity to showcase some of my work to you all. For my collection, Fairy Wonderland, I wanted to create pieces that reminded me of being a whimsical fairy in the woods. Isabella Dudeck Senior "All my garments are made from recycled materials. I used an old rug stopper for the two dresses, the asymmetrical top, and the chaps. The mesh, floral, material is an old curtain from the thrift store. I am so intrigued by the texture and feel of the rug stopper and I knew the structure of it would make for a beautiful "sheer" look. I had such a fun time playing with and sewing these materials."

Keannah Hollister Freshman "I am a freshman originally from Corvallis, OR and currently at OSU I am studying fisheries and wildlife conservation. Through out my time in nature it has inspired me to create a display of vivid colors and textures for you all today . I created these garments to resemble dream like goddesses when worn. Lila Slack Senior "As a designer my focus is comfortable yet stylish activewear that makes the outdoors and movement more accessible for everyone. These designs are all created without zips, buttons, thick seams, or stiff fabrics to make them more comfortable and sensory-friendly for all wearers. My goal is to create garments that allow the wearer to not have to think about how their clothes fit/feel and instead focus on getting active- whatever that looks like for them!"

Rylee Moore Senior "Hello, I’m Rylee Moore! I’m a senior in the Apparel Design program and the President of AATCC. My collection was inspired by my love for bright colors and athliesure clothing. The knit fabric I used for my garments was donated from Nike to OSU. I’ve never worked with knits before so this was a fun challenge.

The ribbed waist bands were hand dyed blue, teal, and pink to match the Nike fabric."

Yuqing Fu Senior "I’m more into streetwear and couture when designing.

Considering feasibility, I have decided to incorporate streetwear elements in my design. I was inspired by the traditional Chinese types of clothing. The top is basically a mandarin jacket with Chinese knot buttons. What’s different is that I have created irregular-shaped-blocked structure and incorporated a zipper on the front bodice, trying to show the characteristics of Chinese style and street wear elements at the same time, which I think echoes the current trend of retro style while still contemporary. For the bottom, I have designed the right leg to have multiple lattern-like structure, but I probably need heat set technique to make sure it holds the shape, only ironing it won’t work good."

Ali Fuerte Senior "For this collection, I was inspired by the desert. Most people think of the desert as an empty, sad place. However, after observing everything from the animals to the color palette uniquely found in that area, beauty is not hard to find. To survive in the desert, you have to be exceptionally strong. It reminds me of a tortured type of beauty. Instead of glamorous, it is simple but elegant in its own unique way. Which sometimes can be just as appealing."

Alexander Hill Senior "My name is Alexander Hill and I'm a fashion designer currently based between California and Oregon. I attend Oregon State University and am currently pursuing a Bachelors in Apparel Design. My driving force moving into this industry is sustainability. As a young designer, it is my responsibility along with the new generation of designers to completely reshape the fashion industry to become a less impactful industry. I currently focus a majority of my efforts outside of being a full time student on my streetwear brand, U4EAH. U4EAH Clothing (previously known as Euphoria Clothing) has evolved from a jumble of ideas and thoughts in a sketchbook to a cohesive brand and collection of physical product. The main goal of the project is a loose ended and free spirited experiment that can explore the connection between emotion and clothing. Over our past two years in business, we have extended our boundaries beyond clothing to become a multifaceted brand, creating a number of short films, ads, magazine covers, and working to give back to the community and world. The collection being presented is mainly archive U4EAH pieces that have already been released and were supposed to be presented in shows over the last few years that were cancelled due to COVID. In addition, there are also a few cut and sew pieces from my final collection here at Oregon State. This collection represents my dual style as a designer both operating in streetwear and the activewear industries. My goal is to continue my personal streetwear projects post-graduation while having a professional career in the outdoor industry, designing durable and sustainable performance apparel to help push athletes further.

This work is a manifestation of a transitionary period in my design and personal life. Hope you enjoy!"

Lexi Ball Senior "Hello everyone, my name is Lexi Ball, and I am currently a senior majoring in Apparel Design. I am passionate about creating women's activewear that adheres to the trends and boosts women's confidence anytime they wear my garments.

My collection is designed with the Fitness Lover in mind, the Sporty Chic collection is trendy, flirty, and makes a statement.

Consisting of fun ruffles, asymmetrical lines, color blocking, and breathable mesh, these garments turn heads during any occasion. I was inspired to create a collection that was fun, unique, and embodied confidence for the sporty woman."
