SaaS market for System Infrastructure Software (Applications and Application Development software not included), the market into which most of CA Technologies SaaS offering fall, is expected to grow at a 27% CAGR, from $3.38B in 2009 to $11.34B in 2014.

CA Technologies is ranked 3rd in the Security Management market according to IDC. IDC predicts this market to grow by a CAGR of over 20%. (IDC Market Data Report, 1/24/2011)

An integrated suite of Enterprise IT Management software packages, which use virtualization, is released. Mainframe 2.0, an initiative to change the way the mainframe is managed is also launched. We have one of the strongest IT portfolios in company history covering infrastructure mgmt, IT governance, service mgmt, data center automation and security mgmt for both the mainframe and distributed environments. Acquisitions include ID Focus, Optinuity, and Eurekify.

Cheyenne Software acquired, strengthening our enterprise storage suite, which are sold today under the BrightStor family of products.

1995

We expand into the Far East, Africa and Latin America. We debut a full line of products for Windows NT. Unicenter The Next Generation (TNG) launches, a major update to its flagship suite that integrates network and systems management.

We become one of the first suppliers to deliver systems management, security and storage for open systems with the launch of Unicenter for Unix.

We reach $1bn in revenues.

Unicenter, our flagship systems management software suite is launched.

We start to sell our first relational database management and application system, now part of the Advantage family.

We introduce our first enterprise security management solution, now marketed under eTrust.

We enter the enterprise storage management market with Dynam‐T.

We announce our new enterprise IT management 1976 (EITM) vision, to unify and simplify the management of enterprise‐wide IT. We have the largest product release bonanza in its history, debuting 26 new versions and more than 85 products under our EITM program.

Our first product launched ‐ CA‐Sort, which delivers full‐function sort, merge and copy capabilities for the IBM OS/390 mainframe market. The company makes $5m in revenues the next year.

We establish a mainframe business unit, and officially open our state‐of‐the‐art India Technology Center in Hyderabad, India. Bill McCracken succeeds Lewis Ranieri as chairman of the Board. We continue to pursue our enterprise IT management strategy and acquire XOsoft (application protection and recovery), Wily, a leader in the application performance management market, and Cybermation, whose technology is a key component of our workload automation offering. The company officially changes name to CA Inc.
