(You must be 18+ to read on) - Our interest in pornography has increased during lock down, according to data from Pornhub, one of the world’s foremost porn websites. The most popular search category has been “Amateur” porn, which perhaps explains the explosion in the number of people producing “Amateur” porn from home via platforms such as MyFreeCams, Chaturbate and OnlyFans. The www. has certainly generated enough stay at home hobbies for everyone!

Winter is a good time to think about preparing some simple outdoor plantings. Get those vege scraps and start your own vege patch. Grab some organic garlic, dig a single clove into the soil with the pointy side up; plant in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil; harvest in 6 to 8 months. For spring onions, grab the white end of your waste onions, roots still attached, and drop them into a glass of water; wait a week for the new shoots to appear; keep the roots submerged and change the water weekly. When the plant is about 10 cm long, transfer into a sunny spot in the garden. To round out the salad, save your inedible, organic lettuce ends, with roots still in place; plant the root base in a sunny position; in 8 to 10 weeks you’ll be eating your own, fresh lettuce leaves – if you manage to keep the bugs and grubs away. Whilst you’re waiting for the garden to grow, a visit to Byron or Bangalow Farmers Markets is still possible. Both remain open, although operating slightly differently under the governments COVID safe guidelines. Stock up with the A-Z of fresh winter seasonal produce from your local farmers - avocado, beetroot, bananas, cabbage, capsicum, eggplant, grapefruit, lemons, leek, mandarins, oranges, passionfruit, peas, pumpkin, rocket, shallots, snow peas, sweet potatoes,

SUNDAY IS THE LAST DAY OF AUTUMN, SO COME MONDAY,

Game of Thrones’ immortal line will be delivered - “Winter is coming”. The first day of winter in 2020 will no doubt be remembered as the day all students in NSW were sent back to school for face to face teaching - except for those who aren’t allowed back, or object to going back, or aren’t sure if they should be going back! It is also the day Gladys Berejiklian has announced that restrictions on cafes, pubs and restaurants will ease – so watch out for over caffeinated, highly hydrated or slightly drunk parents at the afternoon school pick up! Speaking of celebrations, June 1st is significant for a few notable events in history. In 1495 John Cor distilled the first known batch of Scotch whisky. Like many spirit producers at the time, he was a monk, and one of the first people to wake up dazed and confused, with a hangover and a half shaved head – bloody monk pranksters! Superman made his first appearance on this day in 1938. He was the new pin up boy in D.C. Comics’ Action Series issue #1, which sold for 10 cents at the time, and now is worth more than Australia’s national debt – with or without the $60 billion typo. The Adventures of Superman hit the US television screens in 1952, but of course we didn’t get to see George Reeves in his oversized undies until much later, with television unavailable in Australia until 1956. Our New Zealand friends had to wait to get a glimpse of the future of entertainment until 1st June 1960, so TV turns sexty thes year for thim. The Kiwi’s have been a few years behind us ever since! The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band hit the music stores on 01/06/1967, and went on to win the Grammy for the Album Of The Year, and most influential pop album ever. Before you choke on that fact, it is prescient to note that an important life-saving technique was first demonstrated on June 1, 1974. The “Heimlich Manoeuvre”, named after Dr. Henry Heimlich, was a simple, back slapping motion that has since saved many people from choking to death on a fish bone, a lumpy sausage, an extra dry biscuit or even a disputed fact. I don’t know what happened before Heimlich – maybe sufferers were just left to wave their hands frantically, turn blue, and finally collapse and die. Your calendars may also tell you that June 1st is both World Milk Day, and Global Parents Day. The UN General Assembly proclaimed these days to be observed globally to celebrate the important contributions of the dairy sector to sustainability, economic development and nutrition, and to honour parents for their relentless support, sacrifice and commitments towards their children. I don’t think we get a day off work, but with schools back, cafes humming and pubs tentatively re-opening, I’m sure it will be like a holiday. Which leads us to International Sex Workers Day, on June 2nd. I’m not sure what the appropriate celebration is for this day, but I’m sure you could work something out as you unwind, refuel and chill.

Tarotscopes WEEKLY TAROT FORECAST

FRIDAY IS THE PERFECT DAY FOR A HEART to heart conversation with an important person in your life. Mercury the planet

for communication, the intellect and travel moves into the caring, nurturing and protective sign of Cancer. On the same day the Sun in Gemini forms a healing sextile to Chiron in Aries which supports you in staying truthful, even when dealing with intense feelings. These two transits set the scene for a deep exploration of the state of your relationships, in particular your primary one, over the weekend and beyond. Are you happy? Fulfilled? Disgruntled? Resentful? From Monday onwards the focus on love relationships is strong, as retrograde Venus is approaching the Gemini Sun and both are forming a tension-loaded square to Mars in Pisces. Issues from mid-May might come up for re-evaluation, and again it is absolutely important to be honest, even if you have to reveal some uncomfortable facts, or if you have to admit that information has been withheld. Retrograde Venus promotes the sort of discussions or revelations you are having now, which can help to straighten out the truth about your relationship. In Gemini she wouldn’t leave any stone unturned to find out the depth of what is going on. Interestingly Venus, the goddess of love is in a male sign and Mars, the warrior archetype, is in very touchy-feely, feminine Pisces. There might also be an inner conflict about what your mind is telling you, as opposed to what your heart feels. For the bigger picture read your Sun, Moon and Rising signs. A Tarot card is drawn for each astrological sign.

l VIRGO

The 2 of Disks indicates an expansive, positive and opportunistic time. Stay flexible, go with the flow, and you can be sure that you won’t miss a chance. This week is not only good for work and career prospects; it is actually also about having fun and a good time! Enjoy!

In the light of the Moon Tarot card things can look very confusing. Your ability to make clear decisions may be somewhat compromised, and you might have to face old fears, beliefs or judgements that have been holding you back. This is a good week for deep soul-search, but also for creative pursuits.

i GEMINI

The 8 of Wands indicates a great eagerness to get to the bottom of any issue. In the current astro climate this is likely to be about an important relationship in your life. You are probing deeply into the matter and you may get important messages. Whether you like what is communicated or not, don’t shoot the messenger!

j CANCER

‘Don’t worry, be happy’ is easily said but with the 5 of Disks drawn you may find it difficult to see the bright side right now. Don’t get trapped in negative ‘what-if’ scenarios; they only deplete your energy further. As an antidote find five things you are grateful for, as soon as you start feeling apprehensive.

The Queen of Wands depicts feminine energy in the most powerful and attractive way. She claimed her power through self-knowledge and she is attractive because she is wholehearted, open and sincere. With her by your side any relationship issue is appeased by true compassion.

The Prince of Cups symbolises the lover within. Imagine how you would feel if you could absolutely love and accept yourself unconditionally? What would happen if all self-judgement fell away? The Prince of Cups gets you in touch with your true desires and heartfelt longings. Once you can own them you are one step closer to their fulfilment.

a LIBRA

With the 10 of Swords drawn you may feel at a low point right now. Matters of the heart or financial worries might keep you preoccupied and you could get caught up in a negative downward spiral. If you want more inner harmony and less worries, you may have to quieten and soothe your mind first. Nature can comfort you miraculously.

b SCORPIO

The Princess of Disks represents the creative power of the feminine. Her mysterious transformation happens on a very private and internal level. With her by your side, you may become aware of a new strength and power within, which will reveal itself to the world when the time is ripe.

c SAGITTARIUS

The Wheel of Fortune symbolises the universal principle of abundance and expansion. New ideas pop up, a greater perspective is gained and it feels like the whole universe is lining up just in the right way! You might see opportunities where others don’t, or have an amazing new insight into how manifestation works.

d CAPRICORN

The Knight of Cups is the knight in shining armour. He brings good news and often he indicates romance. Accept offerings of goodwill and of the heart graciously and bask in the nurturing, caring energy. This is also a great week to express your feelings, in words or art.

e AQUARIUS

The Lovers Tarot card symbolises the art and craft of relationships. It is about weaving connections and creating union, while staying true to yourself and your values. All very important themes during the retro Venus time! This is the week to overcome polarities and accept paradoxes within yourself and in your partner. This is your chance to create the best relationship you can imagine.

f PISCES

The 4 of Swords marks an important step on the road to resolving an issue that has been on your mind for a while. You are coming closer to the point where you can make an informed decision, but it is not helpful to push forward yet. Take time off, retreat in your own world for a while and come out when you feel strong and ready.

DEAR KEENWA,

I used to be quite a social person. Convo and party etiquette came easy to me. Lately, I really don't know how to act around others. It seems as if i'm on edge, and from what i've witnessed out in the hills, the disco vibe can go from respectful distance to orgy in seconds, and i'm just not comfortable with it. Truthfully, I'm actually confused where I sit on the spectrum, like am I a nun or a dirty dog? With social restrictions being lifted from five to fifty in a room this week, I need to get on top of this. Safely. Help! Erik Etiquette

DEAR ERIK ETIQUETTE,

Welcome to Gemini season, babes; naughty and nice, and nowhere in between.

DEAR KEENWA,

I find myself at a real crossroads with my consciousness. I have been on a self-professed (and preaching to everyone'll listen, and even those who won't) spiritual journey for the past five minutes. Now, normally when I hit a significant block, I go on pilgrimage to discover the answers. With travel restrictions still in place, Bali is off the ol' tarot cards. And with no yoga classes or cacao or plant medicine ceremonies, I really am in a pickle. I am losing followers by the minute. Who the hell am I, if I am not hashtagging my growth? - Pilgrim of Privilege

DEAR PILGRIM OF PRIVILEGE,

You poor thing. In the time you wrote your spiritually channelled letter, there's been a 75% increase in the amount of times domestic violence is googled in NSW. You might want to use social media to get attention to the fact that violence against women was quite bad before lockdown. And if you were an indigenous woman, you would be 32 times more likely to be hospitalised for domestic violence (before Corona). Now that's a lot of namastes.

This week's review

TITLE: Factfulness AUTHOR: Dr. Hans Rosling NUMBER OF PAGES: 259 READING TIME: 14 hours 45 minutes PRICE: $26.99 WHAT IT'S ABOUT: Dr. Rosling was a medical professor

who spent most of his adult life working on improving world health. He died completing this book in 2017, and his son helped finish the task. Factfulness - Ten Reasons We’re Wrong About The World; is a useful and optimistic text. We all use facts to support arguments – particularly when discussing political and societal issues - but the true facts are so often lost in emotional language and hidden perceptions, that they can become misunderstood and misleading. Our over-reliance on base instincts causes much of this mis-direction. Ten chapters in this book examine these instincts in detail – the Gap, Negativity, Straight Line, Fear, Size, Generalization, Destiny, Single Perspective, Blame, and Urgency - all play tricks with our decision making abilities.

WHO IT'S FOR: Factfulness hopes to teach us how

to recognise when our brain makes short cuts or performs magic tricks, enabling us to move towards what Rosling calls a “fact-based world view”. From the introduction’s “knowledge test”, to the closing “rules of thumb”, this book will challenge your understanding of many issues.

WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: Our perception of reality, understanding how we think, what our instincts are based upon, and how we can use this understanding to help us make better decisions, are each examined. We would live in a better world if we didn’t make so many bad decisions based on a flawed world view. NOTABLE QUOTES: “How can we help our brains to see that rocks move; that the way things are now is neither how they have always been nor how they are always meant to be?”

New Jobs ADDED Weekly

LOOKING FOR STAFF? WE CAN HELP!

This week's recommendation

ALBUM TITLE: Never Will ARTIST: Ashley McBryde RELEASED: April 2020 GENRE: Contemporary Country / Rock BIO: Ashley McBryde announced herself to the music

industry in 2018 with Girl Going Nowhere, which was received with much critical acclaim, winning a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album. Multiple awards were to follow in 2019 and 2020, so this follow-up album was hotly anticipated. The lead single One Night Standards charted as one of the best country releases in 2019. Never Will is once again produced by Jay Joyce, and no doubt consolidates the reputation from the debut album. WHAT TO EXPECT: This has been called country music combined with “stadium-ready rock-and-roll”. Like all good country singer / songwriters, McBryde is a story-teller, with songs about forbidden romance, drunken mornings, family tragedies, and even a bit of lust and sensuality. The sounds of good old country guitar reverberate throughout, with McBryde’s always soulful, heartfelt renditions. WHAT WE LIKE: The album opens with the Bob Seger sounding classic country tune Hang in There Girl, and then it's straight into the midnight moods of One Night Standards. Shut Up Sheila gives us the twang of country six-string guitars, which switches to sexy disco rhythms and grinding riffs in Voodoo Doll. Drums take the beat in Martha Divine, and it’s all southern fried chicken and romance in the bluegrass inspired Velvet Red. Never Will sounds familiar, a bit of Fleetwood Mac guitar rock. The album closes with Styrofoam - a very different, funky synthesiser sound. STANDOUT TRACKS: One Night Standards, Voodoo Doll, Never Will. PERFECT FOR: Perhaps suited to a girls big night out, blokes will still appreciate the country guitar riffs – heartaches and drinking are not gender specific.
