MAUREEN GREEN ’86 parent of Lauren Haag ’17 “When Lauren was younger, I told her about my experience of moving to Fort Myers at Christmas time in my junior year of High School. I was very anxious to be attending a brand new school without knowing a single person. On my first day I was a bundle of nerves. My nerves quickly calmed down as I was welcomed into my new school by the friendly staff, teachers and other students. Everyone was so nice and made me feel at home and part of the family. I always knew that if I was living in town and I had a child, I would be sending them to Bishop Verot Catholic High School, with its wonderful academic program with a loving Christian atmosphere. “There was no doubt in 1982 when I graduated from Bishop Verot my children would be attending Verot someday. Verot provided me an excellent education allowing me to graduate from Barry University in Miami with a degree in Psychology and two Masters in Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as a Ph.D. from Nova University. Bishop Verot gave me the tools to excel academically. Bishop Verot also left a lasting impact on me spirituality. Father Mark was a deacon who came to Verot my freshman year and became a priest as we graduated. He is an amazing person who helped us all grow spiritually and even returned to the area to officiate my wedding. In addition, I made many lifelong friends at Verot including my now
