Lesson

In the Lacy School of Business (LSB), we believe that academic rigor is most effective when paired with lessons from the real world. That means you’ll be immersed in actual business settings from your first days on campus.

Our experiential model is based on a collaborative partnership between students, faculty, and businesses with a curriculum steeped in business relevance. Through the Real Business Experience—a class all LSB students take during their sophomore year—you will form teams, create a business idea, apply for funding, and start and run your own business.
You’ll also be assigned a career mentor who partners with you throughout your time at Butler, and often beyond. Mentors are experienced, high-level professionals who offer personal, substantive advice and provide networking opportunities.
Through your LSB experience, you won’t just be prepared for success. By the time you graduate, you’ll have already achieved it.
“The best part about LSB are the professors. They are an amazing resource for opportunities, jobs, networking, and so much more. For example, my First-Year Business Experience professor was the founder of Lids, and my Excel Applications professor was one of the original founders and developers of AOL Instant Messaging. In addition, as a firstyear student, I have just as many opportunities as a senior from day one—I couldn’t find that anywhere else.”
