Early Childhood • Prepares Elementary Education students to teach in prekindergarten settings • Courses in teaching that connects with students’ different cultural and social backgrounds, and in Reggio Emilia-inspired practice • Full semester of student teaching in a pre-K setting Special Education • Prepares Elementary Education students to teach in special education • All coursework is already in Butler’s Elementary Education major • Full semester of student teaching in special education

English as a New Language (ENL) • Prepares students to teach ENL at the grade levels of their primary license in elementary or middle/ secondary education • Courses address how children learn language and the needs of multilingual students • Full-time student teaching placement in ENL Visually Impaired (VI) • Prepares candidates to teach students who are blind or have low vision • Courses in Braille, technologies that help VI students, and a foundation in special education • Full-time student teaching placement in VI
