World Diabetes Day serves as an important reminder of the impact of diabetes on millions of lives worldwide. By incorporating regular exercise into your routine, you can take significant strides toward better management of your condition.
At Healthy Connections, we are dedicated to supporting individuals with diabetes through personalised exercise programs and health resources.
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic condition where the body’s cells do not respond effectively to insulin. Engaging in regular physical activity can reduce the risk of developing T2DM by nearly 60% for those at risk. Additionally, better blood glucose management can often lead to a reduction in the need for T2DM medications.
We are proud to offer a specialised diabetes management program called Dealing with Diabetes. This group class meets twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 to 3pm, and is led by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
Our program focuses on creating personalised exercise strategies that not only help in managing diabetes but also improve overall wellbeing.
